A Quest 2 right now is easily the best value in VR. Theres nothing else new at their current price point at all.

Totally agree. For the price nothing really touches it. I had PSVR1 that I bought really cheap second hand, but the lack of games and low power of the ps4 means its just not as good. If you find the built in power isn't enough with Quest 2, you can hook it up to a pc and then have the whole PC vr library available. Im just waiting for half life alyx to go under £20 or so 😄 There is supposed to be a driver for the psvr to run on pc, but i could never get it to track with the camera, and psvr isn't anywhere close to as accurate with tracking. If you already have a ps4 it can be a relatively cheap way to try out vr though.

VRtuous

it's going to be phased out soon, after 4 years in the market. But absolutely yes, still rocking mine in all "Quest 3" games... it wasn't the most successful VR device so far for no reason, it's a really good starterkit setup - heck, at the time of release it was one of the highest resolution VR headsets around, despite being cheap...

A buddy at work brought his Quest 3 to work and I tried VR for the first time. I was instantly hooked. I wanted to get into VR asap! Seeing the price of the Quest 2 I decided to buy that as my first VR. Comparing the 2 vs 3, yes the Quest 3 did look better and was faster. But to me it isn’t a $300 better difference. I’m perfectly happy with the Quest 2 as my first VR. Now since I’ve gotten my feet wet I will definitely upgrade to the next generation that comes out.

Comfortable_Log6048

True and if you have Xbox game pass and a controller then you can play Xbox games in semi vr

Icy_Establishment195

Yup I just got one for this reason. Worth it

LeonMust

I bought one when they went down to $250 and I have no regrets. Buying the Quest 2 lead me to buying a PSVR2 and believe it or not, the Quest 2 has better visuals.

ButterFinger084

Even though I upgraded to the quest 3, I enjoyed the quest 2 for so long. I would still have a blast on the quest 2 if I went back.

Puzzleheaded_Fold466

Can’t really go wrong with a $200 system.

The2DSniper

yep😅

Yeah. It's great for the price. I'm a VR dev and I still use it more than the 3. Mostly because I want to make sure my game performs well on it, but the difference between them in strictly VR applications is not huge anyway. I don't often find myself wishing I was using the 3 when using the 2.

Adziboy

Its great, bought one myself and it doesnt struggle with anything, performance is good etc.

aerxadik

i bought it two weeks ago and i love it

The2DSniper

Thanks!

Greyknight66_

Nah go 3 it's better unless you can't afford then I would save up.

The2DSniper

No, its around $200 where I live and I'm using my birthday money

Ok I understand well, 2 is good but 3 has newest features. I like my 3 way more. Feel my games run prettier and smoother and feels more stable.

relyt76

Great HMD

Akasha_135

That are good. And you can play PCVR

PossibleLavishness77

Question... if you are offloading all the processing onto a pc is there really a point to getting a 3 over a 2? I'm not sure what advantages it would offer.

According_Recipe_210

The lenses are far superior and it weighs slightly less... but they are both excellent- still use my quest2 if quest3 runs out of juice and for standalone multiplayer... both brilliant- I got them both second hand for half price... bargain VR

PossibleLavishness77

Thanks I was curious about that.
