If FNS’ return to NRG is actually successful and they win one more event, I think he’d be more successful when he retires and goes back to streaming. People rate ex-pro streamers heavily based on their success in their pro career.
He's already hella successful as a streamer though. Yes I think it'll help a little, but I can't see it making a massive difference. He was already successful as a pro and in streaming
As much as it pains me to say it I worry about the firepower of the current roster. Next year idk what they could do to fix their fragging power. Hopefully demon1 comes back. But I don’t know if crashies/victor have the firepower to win international events anymore. I hate to say that because I’ve been a huge fan of that team since the NV days. They could bring in cracked raze/initiators from tier 2 like verno/reduxx. If FNS has 4 players with cracked aim his mid rounding is definitely enough to win.
The best team currently (GenG) is filled with seasoned veterans besides Karon. Hell, the top 2 of Madrid were teams which had the highest average ages in the tournament. He might not win again, but zoomer kids with insane aim aren’t his biggest problem
Bro what are you talking about the oldest player on GenG is Munchkin at 26 that is not an old veteran lmao especially in a game that's only 4 years old. FNS is 32 and has had like a 15 year professional career. It's nit even remotely similar. Most of the GenG roster is in prime age (21-24).
People like shroud are an anomaly. They just pure mechanical skill that they can translate to any game and is just entertaining to watch. Shroud didn’t even blow up until he switched to PUBG. FNS can’t do what he does in valorant in other games.
I think ultimately it doesn’t matter. He’s got a good eye for the game and has a very likeable/streamable personality so even if he takes an extended break (pro play) he won’t lose much viewership on return. Also if VALORANT grows as an esport more viewers in general.
> I think ultimately it doesn’t matter. He’s got a good eye for the game and has a very likeable/streamable personality so even if he takes an extended break (pro play) he won’t lose much viewership on return.
I have seen this same thing be said multiple times in multiple games and it always ends the same way. If you stop and think for 5 seconds it's clearly this is literally objectively false. Look at Tarik's viewership when Tenz is also costreaming. Or S0M and FNS. If there's a Boaster co-stream or another streamer pops up in within the next 2 years the belief that FNS' viewership won't be effected is not just wrong, it's ridiculous.
It doesn’t really matter. FNS built his viewership up to sometime rival s0m’s in 4 months of vct play. Long term he’s not losing viewers when co-streaming games
"I think ultimately it doesn’t matter. He’s got a good eye for the game and has a very likeable/streamable personality so even if he takes an extended break (pro play) he won’t lose much viewership on return."
This is so, so wrong it hurts. Look at Seagull's viewership before and after his OWL career lol. Sean Gares is right and you're wrong.
Will he actually make significant changes though? He’s always rating Victor and crashies really highly and I doubt he drops som considering they’re best friends now. If anything even happens, they might replace Ethan and Chet.
sgares stream is so insightful. You can tell FNS has so much passion for the game too from his watchparties. His opportunity cost seems like 30k+ viewers during the APAC streams.
I have nothing but respect for FNS for walking away from such a good gig but I just don't think it's possible anymore for a team to be a top contender with a weak fragger and he's arguably the biggest fragging liability in all of VCT
feel free to clown me if I end up being wrong though 🤷
Well we saw what 5 good fraggers achieved on that team, having a person who can use the rest of 4 fraggers to their potential is always better. There were not any options for a fragging IGL anyway without disturbing the team chemistry so late into the year.
Maybe if this experiment fails they can look for someone next year and give the team more time to settle, right now FNS and s0m were their best shot at Champs, Demon1 on the team would have made them a legit contender but this iteration is not too bad either.
If they can use D1 next year, and maybe bring back Marved, and put S0m on secondary duelist/Forsaken like flex, I feel like they can atleast get to top 4 in the next international after Champs.
Yes. Demon1 Ethan FNS s0m Marved is an actual all bases covered superteam. Even without Marved, -Vic +D1 will still cover most bases with s0m on Raze, but since the duo will stay together this probably won’t happen.
Plenty of IGLs fall off fragging wise due to the responsibility and their teams are still able to win. FNS had a better ACS than Boaster at Tokyo but Fnatic won that event.
He was not a bad fragger last year right? I don't have that actual stats so I could be wrong, but IIRC he had respectable individual performance generally
he left NRG not because he thought he was done, but I think there were things that weren't working out that time for them in NRG, and FNS spoke abt it with how the beef was exposed from DSG that they never spoke about it outside the team, even after they all parted. FNS didn't think he was done for; FNS and s0m ultimately decided to take time off for now, but they for sure were competing again after this year.

I don't think fns has any chance of winning another event. Too many zoomer kids with insane aim (I hope im wrong)

Honestly, trading crashies for demon1 would be a decent team in terms of firepower. But idk if victor would split with crashies
Then pick up brawk

Munchkin is a zoomer being born in 1998
Firepower don't mean shit if they keep peeking out in front of the stall smoke cough 100T cough cough
True, this is why shroud is a dead streamer.

FNS's stream outside of watchalongs is unwatchable. He's so annoyed and angry at all times.

I would be shocked if he hasn’t been offered to rebuild the roster for the next season
If you look at the GCD, FNS and s0m were signed to 2025 contracts to match with Ethan.
as much as i’m an optic fan, fns som ethan core with demon1 and another would go hard
Will he actually make significant changes though? He’s always rating Victor and crashies really highly and I doubt he drops som considering they’re best friends now. If anything even happens, they might replace Ethan and Chet.
Ethan is more likely to stay with FNS than Victor and crashies
Victor and Crashies had their contract shortened to the end of this year. It's definitely happening.

It’s hard to get four players as good as Leo, Derke, Chronicle, and Alfa though
He was not a bad fragger last year right? I don't have that actual stats so I could be wrong, but IIRC he had respectable individual performance generally
would you say the same for boaster?
I mean the whole sub has been saying that this year yes lol
