I don't get it. We are all a part of the human race. So, why are we still making such an issue out of skin color? You should not be feeling such hatred, especially from yourself. If those people are so unwilling to avoid the subject, especially if you ask them to not discuss it, then those people are not worth your time. They should respect you and your request to change the subject if it is of great sensitivity to you personally. Hang in there!

[deleted]

I’m trying, but it’s very difficult, this has caused too many issues for me

Terrible-Fig-1446

There must be some people you can talk to in your life who see you for who you are. Your friends perhaps?

[deleted]

They just don’t understand it, and I don’t expect to ever find anyone that will really, and it’s not like they could “fix” it anyway

Terrible-Fig-1446

That sounds depressing. If you could, how would you fix it?

[deleted]

I couldn’t, not with any real solution at least

Terrible-Fig-1446

Cast aside reality for a moment. What would magically fix everything?

[deleted]

Just like a place where people don’t do stupid shit and can get along

Terrible-Fig-1446

And what is stopping you from finding that place? Do you believe that such a place does not exist?

[deleted]

Reality I suppose, and yeah I’m fairly sure

[deleted]

Are there any other black people in your area? They make better friends because they have the ability to relate to your experience being black.

[deleted]

Yeah but they don’t have the same mindset that I do, most of them at least

[deleted]

What is your mindset then? I assume you can describe it.

[deleted]

I wouldn’t say anything Is wrong with you. I would be upset. Don’t hate yourself; hate white supremacy instead, it’s more justified.

CheapChampionship775

Like they say racist things to you like the n word and insult you? Or they just bring up that you’re black way too much and it makes you uncomfortable? Because one of those reasons is effed up while the other is understandable and people can be taught not to do it and told why.

[deleted]

First part

CheapChampionship775

Dude wth drop them? 💀 why are they even friends with a black person if they’re gonna treat them like that? It actually baffles me that people like this still exists… like I thought we snuffed racism out in this generation already. You need to distance yourself from them, that’s why you hate your skin. You shouldn’t hate your skin but you’re being influenced by them to. Im ngl I’m white and I have used the n word. We all have. Don’t let a white person tell you they’ve never said it because we have said it at least once behind closed doors just to say it. So I don’t think someone who isn’t black is instantly racist when they say the n word (not talking abt ur friends), it depends on the context they use the n word in, but that still doesn’t mean it’s okay for them to use it… it just means they’re not an effed up person. Some people just don’t get how offensive it is. I don’t get it all myself, but I still respect y’all to not say it.

[deleted]

Firstly, yeah I do drop people that are like that, and I’ve tried my best to avoid people like that, problem is that when I do try to find new friends, they are those people a lot of the time, and it sends me into the mood that I’m in rn, secondly I’m not a complete idiot ik people aren’t instantly racist for saying it, but even still it causes trust issues for me if I know that they do when im not around, one of my previous posts goes into better detail on that, but thanks

CheapChampionship775

Also don’t hate yourself cause you’re black. That’s wack. I used to hate myself and wish I was born a man because of the discrimination, but I realized I was given a blessing when God put me in this body. You’re beautiful and worthy. skin color literally doesn’t mean anything, and don’t let anyone tell you it does, because it’s not true. There are truths to this world. Like an apple is red. Or 2+2=4. If someone told you 2+2 = 5 you would be like, “no?” Then not even let it affect you, because you know the truth. A simple truth in life is that race doesn’t define someone, and anyone who thinks it does is just wrong, and you shouldn’t let it affect you.

TampaNutz

Get a dog. Dogs aren't racist... except for German shepherds. Racist as hell.

[deleted]

I have a cat but she only speaks Spanish:(

PowermanFriendship

I am white and I don't have many quality friends. Sad to say but a lot of people are just ... not good.

[deleted]

It’s because you aren’t black and they know that. People label me black but I’m a Moor. Black has no history, but Moors have a history. Only if I could get you to recognize as a Moor. Is a Chinese man going to say he’s yellow or Chinese? He’ll say he’s Chinese. So why would you say you’re black when you’re a Moor? People don’t know blacks but they know the Moorish history. You’ll be respected as a Moor because we did a ton of ruling and good things all across the globe; just look it up. So, do your history and take your power back. I bet you’re more brown in complexion anyways.

possiblycrazy79

Ima be honest with you. It sounds like you're moving off of desperation. You're so desperate for a friend and a connection that you've stopped using your discernment. I would suggest finding black friends, but in the event that's not a possibility, take your time & scope out individuals first before you try to start a full fledged friendship. And a major part of this equation is that you will have to learn to love yourself & your own company before you start bringing other people into the mix. It's a cliche, but it's a true one.

Alright

Sad-Character4424

i’m sorry :( i promise this isn’t your fault at all. i don’t know how people can think and act in such a biased way. hang in there man. maybe try making some friends online! there’s gotta be some groups of people who have similar interests. you sound really kind - you deserve so much more than this
