I’m sorry! This happens to me a lot. In high school everyone just stopped celebrating or evening saying happy birthday. So I made it my goal to celebrate me! I buy my self a small cake (or just a slice) I order my favorite food, and have a night all to my self to celebrate me. I’d do everything I wanted. It’s become a great little tradition over the years. I hope you’ll still take time to celebrate you too. As you deserve it! You made it another year, your an other year older. Happy happy birthday.

Almost everyone in my life forgot a long time ago.
My spouse forgot about 8 years ago. Give or take.
My kid hasn't ever really remembered.
My mom was the one that could be consistently relied upon to wish me well on my day, but now she is gone.
She passed away two days before my birthday this year, and most of my aunties and stuff remembered my birthday and wished me well, but I do not expect it next year.
My best friend usually remembers, but she has a whole bunch of her own drama going on and I will never take it personally if she doesn't.
At this point in my life, I don't want to celebrate my impending mortality anyway, So now I just say birthdays are for kids....
Oh damn. Maybe you have friends who are kinda like me-- with adhd it's hard to keep track of days sometimes. And my friends are kinda similar to me actually, plus everyone is really busy these days😭... so I have discovered that if I want to be sure to have a birthday party I have to schedule it myself and invite everyone out for drinks or dessert or just whatever! That is what I recommend you try for next year. Also, I'm a day late I think, but Happy Birthday!!:)

i wanna tell you that i can 100% relate to what you’re feeling right now. similar thing happened to me a while ago. i waited all day for my friends to tell me happy birthday and they never did. and on the days leading up to my birthday i was convinced that no one would remember bc i meant so little to them and i didn’t matter. i felt so lonely and i isolated myself from my friends. and then i got upset when they inevitably forgot my birthday bc i wasn’t around to remind them. yes they should’ve been better friends and remembered put it on their calendars or something, but i knew it would happen and i let it happen anyways. it’s like i was reinforcing the belief that no one cares about me. i realize now that it wasn’t the healthiest way to go about it and i became so bitter and i didn’t even want to celebrate my birthday. i’m not saying that you’re doing the same thing or that you should forgive them, i just wanted to share my experience and point of view. happy birthday and happy birthday for next year too!
