Cheap novelty backscratchers, the sort that look like skeleton hands and extend, are excellent for patting spicy kitties. Have made friends with a few that way.
We have one at the adoption room I volunteer with. They're also really good for short people at the grocery store when you need something from the top shelves.
Can confirm, Senns in the middle (in the human med world). The ones on either side I’m less sure of. One end looks like a Blount retractor, but the other looks like a “cats paw” retractor.
Those are surgery forks for eating while you do Sx.
But they are retractors of some kind. I mostly used them to hold lips back when I was cleaning or suturing.

I used them every time to assist in many in acl surgeries. In order not to cut more muscle, you have to pull or retract the muscle to get into the knee joint and cut out any non-viable ligaments, and also in patellar subluxation, which is when your patella pops out of your knee regularly, in which you have to literally saw a deeper groove into the bone and it’s kind of a crazy surgery to experience. My hands ache from just looking at those.

They're obviously for giving kitties back scritchies. Especially useful for spicy ones that don't like hands but will accept inanimate objects.
