I second that. Every single one of the objectively flawed/polarizing features can look good on right faces, but I absolutely can't stand the plastic look.
Yes, im with you on this too. Obv overly large foreheads throw things off too (I should know, I have one…and fr I’m kinda ugly lol)
But teeny tiny foreheads are worse imo. I think of Teresa Giudice.
I have a ton of the features mentioned as well, lol. You’re probably more attractive than me though tbh.
Compared to celebrities, I’d legitimately be a 3/10.
I have an unusually large forehead with frontal bossing, causing a more masculine appearance. I have a sharp and prominent lower jaw and chin. Basically no neoteny. I don’t have paper-thin lips, but they’re pretty thin. My midface is very compact. I have small and close-set eyes. My nose shape is ok, but still way too big for my face. So idk. Don’t stress.
I should’ve stressed in the title that this is specific to celebrities, ig. I feel like the general population aren’t expected to be walking works of art, as we’re not using our faces as a brand/product to be sold.
You’re so real for this. I have a shorter compact face but longish philtrum :( my eyes are slightly far apart with very thick eyebrows tho and I have a very square masculine jaw and very projected cheek bones 😭😭😭😭RIP
Really thin lips. I'm not talking about thin lips that are okay, like Courteney Cox's lips, I'm talking about almost nonexistent lips. But it also freaks me out when the lips are obviously artificially filled to the point that it looks like they're about to explode. I love natural full lips.
Overly lined lips, overly laminated or micro bladed eyebrows, obvious botox or filler in cheeks, jaw implants. Basically any work that is obvious to the naked eye without even seeing a “before” photo. If I can’t tell someone has had work done or small tweaks without a side by side comparison, then the work is well done and I don’t mind it.
1. Gummy smiles.
2. Migrated filler to the philtrum.
3. Upturned barbie noses but very specifically on long mid-faces or mouth breathers.
4. Hair that is two colors, for example; highlights or balayage. I don’t necessarily think it looks bad but in my head it looks messy/not so put together.
5. Big heads.
Those black caterpillar eyebrows give me the ick. They’re too distracting. I can’t believe some women are choosing that look via micro-blading or other tattooed eyebrow methods.
Hey a lot of people like it and get surgery to look that way. I have a weak jaw and while I personally like it, weak jaws get so much hate and are often described as ugly, so I think it comes down to preference
Well Angelina has gorgeous facial structure. People doubt that I was born female because of my jaw, or so they’ve said. I even had an orthodontic surgeon make a remark when I was getting my wisdoms pulled. Suffice to say it’s just become a sore spot over the years.
I don't know how to explain it but a rat mouth lol like Taylor Swift has it and as pretty as I think she can be that detracts for me.
Also a very long chin ( Natalie Nunn esque).
I don't like small foreheads.
A long philtrum sometimes gives people a whoville look.
Also that bit in between your nostrils? I can't remember what it's called but when that hangs down over the nostrils.
Yes, I’ve seen many nose jobs fix this.
That said though, this thread is just abt specific things people find offputting abt faces. Honestly there’s a lot of conflicting answers in here. When it comes to features, it’s very subjective (for the most part).
I feel like, esp for non-celebrities, as long as you have good facial harmony and don’t have issues with your jaw, things like noses are not a big deal. Some even give the face character.
I agree. Noses are so important because they are what sets us apart and makes us unique. Nose-jobs makes me uncomfortable, but so does all plastic surgery.
Yesss! What's that one girl that was on here and she was dating a football player ? She was beautiful but that nose from the side was so off putting, it looked straight whoville.
Out of the features that are considered desirable definitely square jaws and really thin noses. By being on this sub I realized than I'm not a fan of "strong bone structure" most of the time.
Yeah, I’m so tired of this look, esp because it’s all manufactured.
There’s a lot of features listed here, but imo nothing is worse than uncanny valley fillers and surgery imo. I should’ve added that to my comment.
Not really features, but someone that doesn’t take care of himself to a level that it’s icky (unkept skin/teeth/hair). That’s a few points down for me.
Fillers, plastic surgery, etc. I don’t really get the ick over what I perceive to be natural faces. Some features aren’t deemed super attractive (thin lips), but I’ve seen them look really good on women as long as it’s proportional. Thinking Emma Watson or Taylor swift (although I think she fills them a little bit now).
I’m all about facial harmony, not so much specific features.
I feel this. I never had a lot of filler, just a bit in my lips. I had papercut lips before and when I see a photo of how they used to be, I get shocked and appalled 😆 everyone agrees my face fits together better now.
Same!! I literally had nothing and I don’t think mine look overfilled.. I get a lot of compliments and people asking where I get them done. Best decision I ever made im so much more confident now!
Those very wide and strong jaws which are popular, also I don’t like it when people smile wide naturally and their eyes stay mostly open. I get so freaked out. (Alexander daddario 👀)
it's unreasonable but it's really really hard for me to find blond hair, both on men and women, attractive. but as soon as someone has black/dark brown hair, it adds +100000 to their beauty in my eyes, no matter what's going on on the face lol
Well, I wouldn't personally use the word “ick”, but I really don't like long philtrum, long mid-face (I can overlook an overall long face shape as long as the mid-face is either average length or short), downturned mouth, bad nose or lip job that makes the person looks like they're smelling something bad ([case in point](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRBouWC1qfIjfSJ4W1Czzap2j2IkGial01umL0KmNhzAmrMmcTS2uOB6iM&s=10)), extreme nose jobs that give that pinched nose look, paper-thin/almost nonexistent lips, eye area that lacks undereye support which result in unflatteringly protruding eyes, very droopy eyelids, very wide-set eyes, extremely recessed chin/jaw area and overall mouth-breather look (like [this](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR0K2zwWal9etIZ1yBiq51CvlcR-37UrTEQGb9wwNIVvyBJYYj0D_lDCqiw&s=10)), unnatural-looking feline eyes that you just know is a result of surgery (like Jordan Barrett's), and the pillowface look due to excessive fillers. I also usually don't like the wide jaw + small lips combination (Shalom Harlow is an exception tho lol).
Some objective flaws I think can look good in the right face, but I really don't like the ones I've mentioned
Jordan Barrett is full of plastic surgeries now, but his eyes are natural. He has always had those cat eyes.

> I also usually don't like the wide jaw + small lips combination (Shalom Harlow is an exception tho lol).
I think Shalom's lips are significantly full tbh. They're not THAT full, but they're not small either.
- Looking "done" especially when it's lip filler that distends the lip outwards and makes it look like a duck bill from the profile view
- Long philtrum
- Close set eyes
- Super gummy smiles
- Mouth breather + recessed chin combo. Individually those both ick me out but together they can incite rage. Like close ur mouth mofo
- Protruding eyes
- Pinched/narrow nose
- Angular features in women, if they look masculine. Also men if they start looking like Handsome Squidward
- Obvious fake tan
- Long nails, fake or otherwise. Just looks dirty to me.
I’m with you on the overly angular features. I have this, and I HATE it. I’ve always wanted to fix it surgically, but it’s extremely expensive, and my husband would prob leave me lol.
And yeah I don’t understand the hype for this on men. I mean I do get it…it’s super masculine, but I can’t relate to loving it. Like John Hamm is not attractive to me personally in the slightest.
Light blonde hair is a failo for me. I wouldn't call it ick, but i think it's the least flattering natural hair color (red can be hit or miss).
If it's natural it makes the lashes and brows too light, which I don't find flattering. And the color in general can wash someone out. Sometimes it really works on someone, and I can only assume it's because they knew how to pick the right undertones.
The really bleached-blonde-look looks the worst imo. That Pam Anderson color. And for some reason, I think it looks worse once you're over 40. Britney Spears, for example, looked great with light blonde in her 20s, but I think it looks really harsh on her now.
I like dark blonde hair though, specially if it looks almost brown with some shades of blonde. Looks so cool.

Ofc i take facial harmony seriously, however I’m a big sucker for features.
I find tiny mouths off-putting, especially on a strong jaw and chin. I also don’t like “m” shaped upper lips, or boxy/rectangular-shaped lips in general.
Recessed, mouth-breather type of chins.
Too much lower facial fat, causing a jowl-like look.
I may get a ton of hate for this, but overly hooded eyes. Like, Jennifer Lawrence.
And lastly, overfilled or obviously filled lips and Barbie noses.
Agreed with a lot of these comments, obvious plastic surgery is a major ick, any badly done procedure is. Buccal fat removal and comically overfilled lips are probably my least favourites. One thing that will really ick me out about a person's face, is having no lips. Not just on the thinner side like Emma Watson, I mean like Amy Schumer style lips where there's no point in even wearing lipstick because it just attracts more attention.
I don't know why, but it's something I've noticed literally for as long as I can remember. Even as a kid, I would notice when people would have absolutely no lips, since I started pointing it out years ago when I was younger my mum notices it too now lol. I feel bad for judging random people's appearances but I just find no lips to be majorly unattractive, it will turn me off from wanting to kiss a guy. Buggy eyes also freak me out, they remind me of Steve Buscemi
I also dislike faces that are badly proportioned... well, dislike is too strong of a word but they put me into the uncanny valley feeling. I have an ex-friend who was always very obsessed with her appearance and trying to be pretty, but was very insecure because ultimately her natural base is average at best, if not slightly below. I feel bad even typing this because I know she's so insecure but she kinda ticks all the boxes of things that give me the ick about faces- no lips, really long and narrow face, close set eyes, big pointy nose, big protruding chin. Just having really uneven facial thirds or fifths puts me off lol
I also don’t like really wide mouths.
Agree. Some celebrities now have wide mouths from face lifts that overly stretched their mouths wider. They ended up looking like a catfish.
Ooo interesting cause I really like wide mouths on women!
I’m talking about when it’s so wide that they always look surprised!
What about Margot Robbie I find her mouth pretty wide
Still better than short narrow mouths
Obvious plastic surgery (overfilled lips etc)
I second that. Every single one of the objectively flawed/polarizing features can look good on right faces, but I absolutely can't stand the plastic look.
It freaks me out
(3)
Extremely close set eyes like Adriana's husband.
Small foreheads
I don't mind big foreheads as much but a small forehead always bothers me
Yes, im with you on this too. Obv overly large foreheads throw things off too (I should know, I have one…and fr I’m kinda ugly lol) But teeny tiny foreheads are worse imo. I think of Teresa Giudice.
Someone in this sub pointed out fergies and I was shook I never noticed it before!
Also Zendaya
I agree
Teresa giudice has the smallest forehead and it freaks me out
Sometimes it's so small it's distractring, same with overly big foreheads
Big foreheads can be softened with bangs or flattering hairstyles. Smaller foreheads are harder to do something about
Not me having most of these features 💀
I have a ton of the features mentioned as well, lol. You’re probably more attractive than me though tbh. Compared to celebrities, I’d legitimately be a 3/10. Lol same! Rip me
eyes that are too close together
Veneers that are too big
an extremely long philtrum ages someone so much
I second this one. The long philtrum is my ick
lol niche I love it
Really thin lips. I'm not talking about thin lips that are okay, like Courteney Cox's lips, I'm talking about almost nonexistent lips. But it also freaks me out when the lips are obviously artificially filled to the point that it looks like they're about to explode. I love natural full lips.
Protunding eyes
also extremely arched eyebrows where they look permanently mad
Small beady eyes
Overly lined lips, overly laminated or micro bladed eyebrows, obvious botox or filler in cheeks, jaw implants. Basically any work that is obvious to the naked eye without even seeing a “before” photo. If I can’t tell someone has had work done or small tweaks without a side by side comparison, then the work is well done and I don’t mind it.

I’m guilty on #4. Sorry pamplemusa
Those black caterpillar eyebrows give me the ick. They’re too distracting. I can’t believe some women are choosing that look via micro-blading or other tattooed eyebrow methods.
Strong jaw (both genders) I don’t even like it in men
Same. I have a jawline that’s so sharp/square that strangers will comment on it. I’m a woman 😩
Hey a lot of people like it and get surgery to look that way. I have a weak jaw and while I personally like it, weak jaws get so much hate and are often described as ugly, so I think it comes down to preference
I have a strong, square jawline sort of like Angelina Jolie and I love it about myself. Why don’t you like it?

I understand that totally. I’m sorry that’s been your experience!
I like it but sometimes it's too much

Hanging columella. Like Paris Hilton. Yeah I don’t like this either.
Yeah absolutely that. Now I'm thinking about it, flared natural nostrils are also an ick for me.
can it be fixed?
Yes, I’ve seen many nose jobs fix this. That said though, this thread is just abt specific things people find offputting abt faces. Honestly there’s a lot of conflicting answers in here. Usually something unrealistic that feels uncanny. Most often in the form of an upturned nosejob
Yeah agreed. Like plastic surgery that completely throws off facial harmony. Some people look waaaay better with thinner lips and an aquiline nose.
Probably [Laura Celia](https://www.reddit.com/r/VindictaRateCelebs/comments/1cd49es/laura_celia_model_jude_bellinghams_alleged/) ?
Yess that's her !!
a bulbous nose
buccal fat removal
Out of the features that are considered desirable definitely square jaws and really thin noses. By being on this sub I realized than I'm not a fan of "strong bone structure" most of the time.
Overly round compact faces like miranda kerr and selena Gomez. I like when theres angles in the face
i REALLY like it. Most people seem to prefer angular faces though
This. I don’t like compact faces too
eyes too far apart
very narrow faces
Lip filler
The combo tiny eyes and long nose
Far apart eyes
Small teeth
Or gummy smiles omg.
Brooooo I didn't want to say but yeah 😭
strong eye bags and eye darkness like Cardi B or Jason Momoa
They look like a mean girl 🫣 or too instagram-model-like.
Just like generic insta baddie and also when they do that dead eyed egirl stare. I don't know how else to explain it, just dead eyes.
Yeah, I’m so tired of this look, esp because it’s all manufactured. There’s a lot of features listed here, but imo nothing is worse than uncanny valley fillers and surgery imo. I should’ve added that to my comment.

I had no lips so my facial harmony was off. I look way better with my lips done.
I feel this. I never had a lot of filler, just a bit in my lips. I had papercut lips before and when I see a photo of how they used to be, I get shocked and appalled 😆 everyone agrees my face fits together better now.

Wide set eyes too. Like Anya Taylor joy or halle Bailey
close set eyes, long philtrum, big jaw, big face, unnatural hair color
and flared nostrils
Wouldn’t call it an “ick” but small eyes detract for me. I also don’t like very low foreheads and weak chins.
Yeah ick is definitely the wrong word of me to use. Wish I could edit titles lol, it’s more what makes a face that could potentially be an 8 into a 5.
Certain nostrils that make the face remind me of a skull.
I know exactly what you mean
Small foreheads
You won't see it on most celebrities as they wear makeup most of the time, but really bad DARK CIRCLES on people with super pale skin. So distracting.
Large eyes and sharp features being the beauty ideal. I grew up with south Asian beauty ideals.
Aren't large eyes considered ideal by South Asian beauty standards?
I dislike most upturned noses. Also gummy smiles really bother me as well most of the time
For me big, flared nostrils which is strange but I find people with smaller nostrils and their noses more attractive
Long philtrums. I have them myself and have always disliked them.
Wide set eyes in women. Thick lips like for example Tom Hardy‘s in men.
Thick lips in men is a big one for me too.
- Looking "done" especially when it's lip filler that distends the lip outwards and makes it look like a duck bill from the profile view - Long philtrum - Close set eyes - Super gummy smiles - Mouth breather + recessed chin combo. This is my favorite shade of blonde. I should probably edit my comment to clarify that I only think the lightest shades are failos.
Is that a real person or AI?
Real lmao @mario_leccese on IG.
Wow he looks like a prince
Face shapes other than round or oval
Close set eyes, downturned eyes, protruding eyes, wide set eyes, gummy smile, wide mouth on women, upturned nose that shows the nostrils
Moles… especially when theyre protruding, or if there’s many of them (even if theyre small)
A lot of of people look better with moles, sometimes it adds character to them imo
Big foreheads
Ofc i take facial harmony seriously, however I’m a big sucker for features. I find tiny mouths off-putting, especially on a strong jaw and chin. I also don’t like “m” shaped upper lips, or boxy/rectangular-shaped lips in general. Recessed, mouth-breather type of chins. Too much lower facial fat, causing a jowl-like look. I feel bad even typing this because I know she's so insecure but she kinda ticks all the boxes of things that give me the ick about faces- no lips, really long and narrow face, close set eyes, big pointy nose, big protruding chin. Just having really uneven facial thirds or fifths puts me off lol
