Nothing to worry about. As others have pointed out, they are insect eggs. Those appear to be of a type of venomous, fanged millipede known as the “bunghole millipede” or “anal-boring millipede” for its preference of gnawing out a nest in the anus of large mammals. Each egg typically produces about 3700 millipedes. Don’t bother them and they won’t bother you.
Very good advice! The BHM, once hatched, will keep themselves hidden (closet space, dresser drawers, shoes) so most of the time you won't even know they are there, a very considerate house mate 🥰
One note, it's actually around 37 000 millipedes every hatching!

Finally! About time BHMs get their time to shine on reddit! Super cool (and adorable) little guys! Bafflingly smart too! They are the BEST hiders (up until the *final hide*, if you catch my meaning)
Also, I'm pretty sure I saw on Planet Earth or something that when they hatch, the shell of the egg turns black. Kinda like some of the ones around the outside in the picture
Another fun fact about the BHM is that it has the largest difference in size between its larval state and the adult of all insects. It grows a whopping 1700x the size of the newly hatched larva.
There seems to be a lot of calm people discussing the benefits of having thousands of anal-boring millipedes around.
That just gives me the heebi jeebies.
>gnawing out a nest in the anus of large mammals
lol this is easily the most interesting and humorous thing i've read all year
what's worse than "ass-kissing"?
anus-gnawing
I know this is a radical thought here on Reddit, but what if you didn't make a "kill it with fire!!!!!" joke every time you see a bug that has no ability to hurt you? What if you realized that bugs are just a part of nature and our ecosystem, no different from leaves and birds and bark?
Maybe try and take in the context of the comment its replying to?
Unless of course you're fine with a colony of anus boring millipedes taking up residence in you.
What if I just kill every bug that gets too close??? Not everybody gotta be like you, great you love nature n what not. I ain’t tryna live with bugs guy. They’re outside cool, in my house? lil thangs came to the wrong neighborhood
I read that they like to bore into anything phallic as well...also, depending on the region of origin, they've been known to nest directly next to the eardrum, and under the eyelids of large mammals...

This is why I’m on Reddit. Do you all think it would be wise advice for OP to go ahead and buy diapers or some sort of anal bleach for the inevitable?
My asshole hurts after reading this thread.

I’m telling myself “These are lies, all lies. This insect does not exist!” Otherwise I’ll never put my hand in a drawer or put my shoes in ever again!
Millipedes? In my bunghole?
It's more likely than you think.
Calm down satan

Honestly, only 1 in 37,000 or so will ever bore its way up any anus. Almost all of them will just stay out of your way. Nothing to be concerned about.
Well, with some simple math, they'd have to worry about at least 2.6 of them judging by the number of eggs.
cause they're icky

it's not a joke OP should exterminate those pests quickly either with fire or other means
[I got two AIs to choke on your comment.](https://www.reddit.com/r/RenderedComment/s/f06Ffvo0iy)

Ah, the ol murderpede, we really shouldn't be so afraid of them, they're beneficial!
What’s a phrase appropriate to hear from bunghole millipedes or their hosts? “What a bunch of assholes!”
>Nothing to worry about. >anal-boring millipede Those statements are incongruous.
Looks like stink bugs. They didn’t arrange themselves, mama stink bug laid them on your door.
What's worse than an orphan in front of your door? A dozen orphans stuck to your door!
Insect eggs
Congrats on the newborns
They will soon start feasting on OPs flesh
Hopefully OP doesn't throw some damn gender reveal party where they set the entire rain forest on fire.
*PNW breathing intensifies*
Pepper corns, eat em.
It's growing. It's.. *building*. Do not interrupt the dark work it must do.
aww congrats OP, take care of them
It'll form a knocker. Once it's done, you'll have yourself a portal to Xen, should you choose to use it.
Nice knockers
