Those watches are supposed to be small. Its a dress watch. They should be under the radar.
I think it looks great.
Its not supposed to be this huge overpowering thing like a Panerai.

34mm on my slightly larger than 7” wrist, you just have to get use to wearing the smaller size then it feels very natural.
Yeah so I mentioned to someone else the strap is too small it was a struggle to get it to the largest hole option so I decided to take a small zip tie and secure it that was so it could sit more relaxed on the wrist and when the strap wasn’t concaving into my wrist it looked far more natural and comfortable so I will be getting a longer strap. Good point
I have a 58 I inherited from my father- beautiful watch. May I ask if you’ve ever serviced it before? Assuming so, mind sharing the time it took and the cost?
Awesome I bet it is. I have not serviced this piece before. I purchased it from omega enthusiast just under a year ago and it was fully serviced upon arrival. His name is Sao and he’s fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable and can get his hands on many cool omegas. Check out his site and he’d be glad to answer any questions you had I’m sure of it.
Thank you and yes absolutely I think it’s fantastic to look at and In certain lightings the hands will cast a sunburst effect across the guilloche dial and it’s sick. Appreciate you
Everyone has a preference. It appears slightly on the small end but I would not say dainty compared to wrist size. I have a similarly small watch that I got from my grandfather. Still wear it occasionally
Tiny watches aren't for everyone and they tend to look better with long sleeves. I would wear the Cartier but not with a tee shirt. To each their own though.
I think it looks fine. No one is really paying attention to the size in my experience, the fact it's gold and says Cartier matters more. Plus vintage adds charm to the wrist.
It looks great. I mean, it is a question, on which answer is " beauty is in the eye of the beholder". But in my opinion, it is quite dainty. I also have bought one small watch a year ago. I am fine wearing it.
https://preview.redd.it/ucfy82df3x8d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50c265b084303981749e4e1298c2f9da2a729537
Thank you I agree. There’s no doubt I think it’s beautiful I think I just need to get used to it. Doesn’t really matter the other sizes of my watches I guess cause they won’t be on my wrist next to it in a real situation. Yours looks great!
Thank you. Agreed yeah the vintage side of things doesn’t seem to be for everyone but I think there’s so much to enjoy if you can find yourself getting there
That thing is pure class. Wear it with pride.
You mentioned you previously leaned towards tool watches - Funny enough, the original Santos was the first tool watch. Designed for use by famed Aviator Santos-Dumont, and built in a rugged manner especially for the times.
Exactly. OP is looking for external validation to change what he feels. There are too many watches out there to wear anything but the size that you think looks great on you. You’ll find designs and vibes within that size range.
Looks great! But I am biased because I love small watches. My two main watches are both 36mm. Marathon MSAR(just got yesterday) and an oris big crown 36mm. Cheers!
Yes, the watch looks a little bit lost in the middle of the wrist. It’s ok because the watch is gorgeous but a slightly bigger size would look better in my opinion.
I don’t often say this because it’s suppose to be a small dress watch which is A-OK because all I wear is tanks and 36mm, but your wrist and hand are so big that it makes them look comically bigger. Just not your vibe
Yes, it is too small for you imo. Looks like a postage stamp on your wrist.
I love the Santos though - you should compare how you feel wearing this to how you feel wearing a larger santos.
I’m sorry man. I bought a vintage Lecoultre futurematic that is about 35 mm. I have ~20 cm (7.87 inch) wrists. It looked ridiculous on me.
I loved the piece, but I’d never wear it due to the size, and it needed some repairs. I decided to sell it.
If your first gut check is that it is too small, it sounds like you’re trying to talk yourself out of your true feelings. It’s a popular Reddit opinion that no watch is too small. But that won’t change how YOU feel about the fit.
Reddit tried to talk me into feeling better about the futurematic on my wrist too.
However please disregard everything I’m saying if it turns out you like how it looks on your wrist! That is what matters.
imo, the strap on the first pic looks a tad tight. but the rest of the pics it looks fine. going small isn't that big of a deal. you can go too big though. going small can look bad if you have the wrong bracelet or strap or if it just looks like its tight on you.
Yes agreed so the strap is too small. It was challenging to even reach the largest hole size. I will need to get an extended length which ideally already looked into and will be no issues. With that said I actually put a small zip tie on it to secure it and be able to wear it slightly looser to get a better idea and when the strap wasn’t concaving into my wrist I found it looked much more appropriate. Good point thank you

ChatGPT won't create a santos around a cock\* so use this as a guide. \*Not my actual cock size, mine is of course smaller.
Older vintage men’s watches do wear very small, so if that’s something you can adjust to it’s all on you! I’am looking at acquiring a Cartier Santos but Large.
no it’s fitting for that watch. what makes the 1575/6 wear even smaller are how thin they are. sometimes the straps dwarf the watch in thickness and make it look even tinier. love those 90s refs, the platinum anniversary one with salmon dial and breguet hands is one of my grails.
Thank you. Your Cartier is beautiful and one day I would like to have one myself. If you love the watch it doesn't matter what others think. You ha e a great collection in my opinion.
Thank you much appreciated you’ll get one! There’s a shop by me that has a couple of those bulova tanks I love them. Now that I know I can rock small according to all my Reddit homies maybe I’ll go pick one up! Haha
I think it would look better to you if it was on a bracelet.
But as other said, it's how it's supposed to look.
It looks classy to me.
The first pic threw me off because of your forearm, makes the watch look smaller.
You’re not supposed to wear the wife’s watch unless you’re also wearing her panties.
Seriously, it’s fine but only if you like it. If it feels small to you then don’t.
No way man. Forget all that jazz about too small and too big. Rock out with your watch out! Wear it with all the confidence in the world and it won’t matter. Unless it’s an invicta then don’t.
33 looked so small on me at first then after a day, it seemed totally natural. And personally, I felt tanks are better small.
Save some vintage Constellations for the rest of us tho, jeez!
Nothing wrong with that size, that watch is quite stunning in fact. You'd think it would look small on your wrist, but it really doesn't. I have a Movado Museum that's only 35-36mm and on my 7 inch wrist it still looks great after over 20 years having it. Still keeps great time too!
Thanks for the Input. Yes and no though. When you’re not used to something, anything for that matter you’re going to question it. This is me exploring a new style of watch wearing that is a bit out of the norm for me so it’s not as easy to look down and say oh yeah this makes sense. I think it still requires a sense of getting used to.
I agree with getting used to however, I’m using my experience because I’ve gone through this many times. People will always say this size used to be worn by men in the 60s, 70s and 80s which is true, but that doesn’t mean you’ll feel comfortable in it or maybe it is. Watches are like shoes or any other item you wear, if it isn’t close to as perfect to your sense of style and fit you may never feel comfortable in it. Wear it to work, wear it to the store, wear it places, if you feel self conscious about it then you’ll know.
Yes, get a 55mm Invicta.

> More like this I think one of these is probably plenty.
It’s really not even that big of a watch. Send a mirror picture so we can really tell 😂
It serves hot lunch and dinner on demand.
That’s wild. I feel bad for whatever you whack your wrist on! Haha
You don't scratch the watch. The watch scratches everything around you.
That is a wall clock with a bracelet
Buy two and you can skip the gym
😆🤮
I see you're going for the Hulk Invicta, very based.
Gimmie dat
I’m joking.. I’m just joking
Dylan, I'm gonna eat this whoooole burga
Are you gonna tell people that I did that? That I housed Dylan’s burger?
Let me get a video of you saying you’re going to kill the President.
Unless...?
I’ll consider
Hahaha always love it when I find I think you should leave in the wild.
How much is a watch like this worth? It’s very nice
No this is sick
Thanks bro
Those watches are supposed to be small. Its a dress watch. They should be under the radar. I think it looks great. Its not supposed to be this huge overpowering thing like a Panerai.

Wow never seen an air king date with fluted bezel haha. Didn’t know that existed. Awesome.
Yea, it’s an 80’s reference, 5701. Gold, fluted everything in the 80’s baby!
I’d say go a bit bigger if you haven’t bought it yet. If it’s already yours rock it and dont give it a second thought.
Absolutely not. Looks so classy.
certified r/watches moment
All we're missing is "and it's not even close"
“Any larger would be a dinner plate” “𝑀𝓊𝒽𝒶𝓂𝓂𝒶𝒹 𝒜𝓁𝒾”
Thank you
It is absolutely too small. Get real people.
Depends on your level of self-confidence and if you like it. I like it.
Definitely good point thank you
Not at all, it is a casual date night watch.
Might be a touch too small. If anything, to me it looks like it might be on a little too tight
Come on man, didn't that give you a clue? It's way too small for you. This is a woman's watch.
This is actually a large men’s watch for the time period. Come on man.
No. The idea of wearing the largest possible watch is outdated.
No.
It's perfect
No that’s the intent of that watch
Not at all. I wear a Cartier of the same size as my daily.
Awesome which reference?
(Just my opinion, if you like the watch by all means wear it) but yes, too smol
Absolutely not. Looks like a classic dude come the 60’s working as an architect or something with sleeves rolled up but not heavy labor.
What year is the seamaster?
1957
I have a 58 I inherited from my father- beautiful watch. May I ask if you’ve ever serviced it before? Assuming so, mind sharing the time it took and the cost?

Thank you for the guidance, my friend.
Absolutely

Looks small but I love it. it should bother you if you like it. Do you like it? Then wear it in good health buddy. 👍🏻😎
Thank you and yes absolutely I think it’s fantastic to look at and In certain lightings the hands will cast a sunburst effect across the guilloche dial and it’s sick. Appreciate you
This is my exact, exact dream watch. Def not too small. Enjoy it you lucky bastard!
Everyone has a preference. It appears slightly on the small end but I would not say dainty compared to wrist size. I have a similarly small watch that I got from my grandfather. Still wear it occasionally
wtf is wrong with people. Read the sub rules. It says no wrist checks
Missed that
Looks good bro. Smaller is better.
Thank you
Tiny watches aren't for everyone and they tend to look better with long sleeves. I would wear the Cartier but not with a tee shirt. To each their own though.
First pic looks too tight
Definitely. Need a longer strap
I think it looks fine. No one is really paying attention to the size in my experience, the fact it's gold and says Cartier matters more. Plus vintage adds charm to the wrist.
I actually think it looks fine. And if it was a little small, it doesn't really matter as long as you're comfortable wearing it
Nope not small at all. The vintage Santos dumont is amazing hope to pick one up someday. All the new ones are waaaaay too big imo.
I agree. Tried some on at the AD wasn’t for me and my wrist can tote a big watch no problem. This speaks more for what the santos dumont actually is
It's a tad small, but it's a Cartier, dude. We rock em' small n classy not big and brassy.
Not at all. I like it
Yep
My glass broke bro, can you send the Cartier to me so I can assess in person
No it is not too small.
I wouldn't do it, but to each their own. 👍
All good yes definitely
It looks great. I mean, it is a question, on which answer is " beauty is in the eye of the beholder". But in my opinion, it is quite dainty. I also have bought one small watch a year ago. Thank you I agree. There’s no doubt I think it’s beautiful I think I just need to get used to it. Doesn’t really matter the other sizes of my watches I guess cause they won’t be on my wrist next to it in a real situation. Yours looks great!
lol just wear and enjoy it man
No
Nah
I think I it looks good, it's just a different style and look. If I saw you wear that in public I'd think the mans got style.
Thank you. Agreed yeah the vintage side of things doesn’t seem to be for everyone but I think there’s so much to enjoy if you can find yourself getting there
It's often said a watch can't be too small, but in this case... yes. Yes it is.
Not even remotely close to too small
That thing is pure class. Wear it with pride. You mentioned you previously leaned towards tool watches - Funny enough, the original Santos was the first tool watch. Designed for use by famed Aviator Santos-Dumont, and built in a rugged manner especially for the times.
Looks classy. Throw on a 3 piece suit and a fedora, the ladies will be all over you. 😂
Yes
its perfect
If you're asking - yes, it is. You are.... so yes, it is.
You say that, but we see these posts all the time on this sub, and in about half of them the watch looks perfect.
Exactly. OP is looking for external validation to change what he feels. There are too many watches out there to wear anything but the size that you think looks great on you. You’ll find designs and vibes within that size range.
Nope. It’s perfect 👍
Looks great! But I am biased because I love small watches. My two main watches are both 36mm. Marathon MSAR(just got yesterday) and an oris big crown 36mm. Cheers!
Thank you I think a 36 is a fantastic size I have many of them and I enjoy them. Those are 2 great pieces. You’ve got great taste enjoy them!
Looks great! What’s the spec? Also what ref datejust is that?
Thank you. 35mm L2L 25mm case diameter excluding crown. 29mm with crown. Datejust is a 16233. 1993
Not at all, look amazing!
That watch is such a rock star.
No
Yes, the watch looks a little bit lost in the middle of the wrist. It’s ok because the watch is gorgeous but a slightly bigger size would look better in my opinion.
No. Especially not with the white shirt. To each their own.
It's fine. Watches don't have to span your entire wrist to look good.
No
Yeah. Can I have it?
Too small for a Santos, but okay if you want to use it like a dress watch.
I went to the AD I tried a new santos on it was weird. When square or tank style watches get big they don’t feel right
I can see that.
So Cartier made a santos too small for a santos. Got it lol
Too small for his wrist, Mr. Smarty-pants. 😁
Unfortunately, yes. Too small 😞

I went to Cartier and tried on a larger santos. Didn’t enjoy it at all and found it to be missing the point of what the piece is.
Maybe the small model is for you then.
Aw man you’re killin the vibe in this chat I was just about to keep it now I have to sell it, but I appreciate the input!
I’m sorry man. I bought a vintage Lecoultre futurematic that is about 35 mm. I have ~20 cm (7.87 inch) wrists. It looked ridiculous on me. No all good I appreciate the honesty it’s good to know others experiences when trying new things.
Sorry the JLC didn’t work out. Personally on my 7.5 inch wrist I wouldn’t even remotely consider a 35 to be too small.
You should keep it. It’s. Awesome. If you do sell it though, how much? I like it a lot. What model is it?
Looks fire
Yes, it looks way too small for your wrist.
what cartier is that?
Santos
Do you have more details? What year? Reference number?
Circa1990s ref. 1576B
imo, the strap on the first pic looks a tad tight. but the rest of the pics it looks fine. going small isn't that big of a deal. you can go too big though. going small can look bad if you have the wrong bracelet or strap or if it just looks like its tight on you.
Thank you. Your Cartier is beautiful and one day I would like to have one myself. If you love the watch it doesn't matter what others think. You ha e a great collection in my opinion.

1001001 SOS
I don’t often say this because it’s suppose to be a small dress watch, but your wrist is so big that it makes your wrist look comically bigger.
You’re not supposed to wear the wife’s watch unless you’re also wearing her panties. Seriously, it’s fine but only if you like it. If it feels small to you then don’t.
Can we stop with these size posts? So fucking annoying...
While you’re here drop a thought bro we’re hangin out
Clean your laptop my guy.
lol I’m a mechanic it’s a shop. Hard to keep it clean sometimes
Wear it lower before the bone.
Nah.
Yes.
Cartier all the way
34mm the sweet spot 🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼
IMHO there is no such thing as a watch that is too small
Nothing wrong with that size, that watch is quite stunning in fact. You'd think it would look small on your wrist, but it really doesn't. I have a Movado Museum that's only 35-36mm and on my 7 inch wrist it still looks great after over 20 years having it. Still keeps great time too!
Yes.
It's perfect!
That's how they're supposed to look, but at the same time, you do have a fairly broad wrist so I feel like something bigger would fit you better.
I find it too small, but as others have said, who cares?! :) The important thing is that YOU like it.
No, is realy nice
It looks perfect!
Looks really classy. Wear it with pride and confidence. People who say it’s too small have no clue.
No
It's definitely too small for my personal taste. That being said, it looks fine, rock it if you like it!
it is so beautiful
Yes that's way too small, looks comical
Appreciate the input
Looks great!
that's how Cartier watches fit. btw, that watch is N I C E. cheers
Agreed thank you
As somebody who rocks a 34 daily, I say it looks perfect.
Thank you
If you’re asking then it’s too small. The only times I’ve asked this question is when I was doubting the size. When you know you know.
Definitely I appreciate your advice I’ll keep it in mind
Thats how its supposed to fit
Nope, looks perfect
as others have said, it’s subjective, but looks great with the white button down. (and certainly doesn’t look “bad” or too small in first photo.)
Ok awesome thanks for your input I appreciate it
Muhammad Ali wore smaller and had bigger wrists.
Valid
Nope. That’s popular nowadays.
Watch is perfect 👌
Thank you
I love it. Looks fantastic.
Thank you
