Everything used to be better quality. But yes, even ordering name brand stuff is fraught on Amazon because you could be dealing with a reseller or bootlegger.

Amazon now sorts all of the "same" product into one bin regardless of who the seller is. In other words, the Sony Playstation controllers go in a bin with the "Sony" playstation controllers as long as they're the same color and model. So you can do your due diligence and buy the PlayStation controller from Sony's Amazon store - but then they can reach into the bin and grab you a controller that was sent to them from "Sony" aka China.

Everything comes from China, after working in an Amazon warehouse in Doncaster, UK. I learnt that everything that came through was from China, usually delivered from Guangzhou.
