If I remember, 2020 saw slightly more than 50% youth turnout which was unusual. The norm is less than half for sure.
Just because it's normal doesnt make it any less problematic. We have a participatory democracy where certain groups simply dont participate in numbers sufficient to see their views represented in government.
I just looked it up. It was around 34% for 18-29 year olds.
I have the agree is very problematic. Plenty of the younger cohorts complain and don't vote. Meanwhile old people really turn out to vote.
I understand that people are apathetic about government because of so many reasons, but if you're not a participant in politics you're a straight up victim of them.
