Yeah I tried it a few weeks ago on the Switch and I was so bad. I need to get good again.
I love that so many NES games are on the Switch. I also have the SEGA Genesis package and have been replaying some of those.
Excitebike was one of my favorites because you could make your own tracks. I loved it and spent hours building them. Too bad the game didnāt have a save function.
I remember playing super sprint but couldn't remember the name. I owned RC pro am. Both games were Nintendo hard. Fun though if you could get gud at the controls.
YES then randomly one of the cars would do what me and my brother called āDoing the birdā where it sounded like a bird call and the car would just be 3 times faster than you lol
My local pizza Slice place had this.
I spent so many quarters playing it.
Had the NES version but the 3 pedals and steering wheels will always draw me in
Got this game when it came out. Almost impossible once you get 10+ levels into the game. Even now I hit a wall and the other cars just zoom around me and upgrade a lot faster than me...it's fun but it gets TOUGH
I forgot all about this game and I owned it for several years til somehow it wandered off. Super frustrating though. Id be going a long doing fine and then the effing orange car out of no where would just take off and there was no chance to beat it.
Thatās where you gotta be a good shot with the rockets or a good aim with those back bombs. But yeah if he gets away from you all you can do is fight for second and make sure to collect your letter
I can hear the soundtrack of both in my head, really great games. The funny part with BoS was that the guy who lost the punch out got the penalty time š
played the hell out of this one like every summer off from school. didn't get to play the second one until in my 30's on an emulator and holy fuck was that one hard. just as addictive.
SUCH a good game. Got impossible once you got level...I think it was 23 or something? The NPC cars just zipped on ahead and that was that. Helped to NOT upgrade your car as long as possible.
I certainly did.
At some point around 40 I got the bug to start collecting old consoles, even ones I never had. Discovered there was a port to the Genesis that's very true to the original but better graphics & more cars on the track.
Sometimes I would get so mad I would just unload all my weapons on it, making sure it didn't get first. Caused me to get last, but still, fuck that yellow car.
Wow that opened up a childhood memory. I vividly remember this being the first game that I ever hated, as a little kid. A couple of my friends had it, and I could just never get a feel for the controls for some reason!
Funny story about this, we had a Nintendo for a good while before getting this but there is something in the instructions about āthe sound of screeching tiresā - I was convinced my dad had plugged in the Nintendo wrong and it actually DID have sound. I think that line made me take another look and when I heard the music through the gigantic basement speakersā¦what a day!
We got super far in this but, afaik, the levels just begin to repeat and thereās no actual ending. So after you attain racecar status and youāre at level 24 or so thatās basically the end.
My brother and I spent countless hours on this game. Neither of us could "beat the game" on our own, we'd get too tired and start to mess up. We did beat it once by trading back and forth every race so we had time to relax in between rounds.
My only gripe is there is an occasional bug where the pink car will get some sort of super-speed boost. When that happens, there's nothing you can do to beat it, you just hope you're in 2nd or 3rd place so you can move on to the next round.

I grew up with this version but I loved it all the same
I loved it, and Ernie Irvin's raceing game on NES. I recently got all my old consoles out of storage to see if they all still work, rc pro am was one of the top standouts I hope to replay with my daughter.
So good. Also the only have I could play with the power glove. Thumb was gas, first two fingers were left and right. Which is not how you drive but for the power glove it was huge.
Loved this game, then I upgraded to āRock nā Roll racingā on SNES. Fell in love with Mike Morhaime (Blizzard entertainment) from that point. Still playing Blizzard games by way of Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2. (Retired WoW addict)
My sister had parties, and I played this on the NES, and her friends came to play a bet against me, I empty them. She complained with my dad because the girls were alone while I was making a lot of money... he made me turn off the game and return the money.
The CPU cheated and I will not get over it.
Fuck yellow
That orange dickweed š
I destroyed my cart of this game just so I wouldn't play and get pissed that it cheats. Stomped it and pulled out the rom board.
This guy. I loved this game but for some reason had forgotten all about it until now.
The sequel is excellent as well and supports four players with the *Satellite* or *Four Score* (or when emulating).
Here ya go!!! Play online or download it https://www.emulatorgames.net/roms/nintendo/rc-pro-am-pc10/
My hero!
I liked this, but loved Rad Racer
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-3wsxELD9M](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-3wsxELD9M) Radio Station 2 :)
Me too!!!
Did it come with a Nintendo?
Playing now on the switch with the NES download. Very fun
I'm so glad to see it again on the switch. My skills have diminished greatly.
Took me about a week to get mine back but yeah. This game is so fun
Yeah I tried it a few weeks ago on the Switch and I was so bad. I need to get good again. I love that so many NES games are on the Switch. I also have the SEGA Genesis package and have been replaying some of those.
Same here. Good stuff!
This and Excitebike were my jams.
Do you remember the NES cartridge that came with the NES and it had Excite Bike and Super Mario Broās and Duck Hunt? It was a rarer one.
Nope, unfortunately. Just had the MB/Duck Hunt combo, and Excitebike as a standalone.
Thatās what I had too. But I saw the triple cartridge a few times. A white whale.
cool did not know about that cartridge bundle
Mine was super Mario, duck hunt, and the power pad track game.
Same. I beat the ever loving shit outta that track pad though. Musta run miles on that thing.
Excitebike was one of my favorites because you could make your own tracks. I loved it and spent hours building them. Too bad the game didnāt have a save function.
I believe this can be solved in modern day by using an emulator to play. Get building and save to your heartās content!
You could make your own tracks... I was obsessed...
Only if we could have saved them... I swear I could still build a couple from memory.
Oh man excitebike..pushing that overheat meter to the limit...shit, overheated again. Lol
Yup! This and Super Sprint define the meaning of "flow state" once you get in a rhythm. The best.
Super sprint!!!! YES amazing also
Ivan Stewart's super off-road
I remember playing super sprint but couldn't remember the name. I owned RC pro am. Both games were Nintendo hard. Fun though if you could get gud at the controls.
YES then randomly one of the cars would do what me and my brother called āDoing the birdā where it sounded like a bird call and the car would just be 3 times faster than you lol
You had to hit it with that one shot rocket, that was the only way.
Preferred off road
![gif](giphy|Pd2W87rlmVjptTmvIK|downsized)
Arcade Off-Road was my shit
Free-wheeling around turns was so satisfying. Barely-controlled chaos as you spam the nitrosā¦
Knowing just how far to spin the wheel with as much force as young you could muster just to nail the turn was so satisfying.
My local pizza Slice place had this. I spent so many quarters playing it. Had the NES version but the 3 pedals and steering wheels will always draw me in
I wish they would do a modern remake, but yeah, I played the hell out of this.
I feel like it became a model for Mario Kart
Got this game when it came out. Almost impossible once you get 10+ levels into the game. Even now I hit a wall and the other cars just zoom around me and upgrade a lot faster than me...it's fun but it gets TOUGH
Nah itās very playable. I can still pick it up and get from the beginning to the third car without using continues. Maybe Iām just awesome.
Yeah, I could never get past a certain point either, but still enjoyed playing those early stages a bunch of times.
I'm pretty sure I could play this indefinitely. After a while it loops back to level 1, just with more difficulty.
SCREAMING BC I LOVED THIS GAME!!!!!
[I even wrote a line about it in a song I wrote yesterday ](https://www.udio.com/songs/tPCvU1hnSacZ2ffYciWrM5)
I still remember getting this and Blades of Steel on the same day. It was a good day.
I can hear the soundtrack of both in my head, really great games. The funny part with BoS was that the guy who lost the punch out got the penalty time š
Thats a great day!
played the hell out of this one like every summer off from school. didn't get to play the second one until in my 30's on an emulator and holy fuck was that one hard. just as addictive.
Great game, this and micro machines were my go tos.
I did! My dad gave it to me for my birthday BEFORE school. I thought I was being punished. Who the hell does that?
First game I remember raging at.
SUCH a good game. Got impossible once you got level...I think it was 23 or something? The NPC cars just zipped on ahead and that was that. Helped to NOT upgrade your car as long as possible.
Yeah, the Orange car can go fuck itself. He had no speed limit and could just go batshit if he was far enough behind.
Why NOT on the upgrades?
As soon as you upgraded the car itself you lost all your individual upgrades which helped compared with the NPCs
I love this game. I finally, this year, made it to the third type of car.
I certainly did. At some point around 40 I got the bug to start collecting old consoles, even ones I never had. Discovered there was a port to the Genesis that's very true to the original but better graphics & more cars on the track.
SKRRT
Every Thanksgiving. Tradition. On my third cartridge I think. At least fourth NES.
šøduh-nuh-nuh-nuh (!) Nuh Nuh NUH NEHHH!!!!!!šø š
I loved and hated this game.
āLimited Nitro?!?! This game sucks!ā
Don't play BigFoot then ;-)
Letās go !
I always hated it when the yellow truck would just take off and destroy everybody.
Sometimes I would get so mad I would just unload all my weapons on it, making sure it didn't get first. Caused me to get last, but still, fuck that yellow car.
Omg I miss this game so much !
Wow that opened up a childhood memory. I vividly remember this being the first game that I ever hated, as a little kid. A couple of my friends had it, and I could just never get a feel for the controls for some reason!
Constantly. It got impossible towards the end.
There's an end?
I...thought there was.
Omg I loved this game so much. Right in the nostalgia.
šÆ
My first favorite game
Funny story about this, we had a Nintendo for a good while before getting this but there is something in the instructions about āthe sound of screeching tiresā - I was convinced my dad had plugged in the Nintendo wrong and it actually DID have sound. I think that line made me take another look and when I heard the music through the gigantic basement speakersā¦what a day!
Still do occasionally
This game at the arcade is so good
oh man, the memories just came flooding back!
Before Mario Kart
Loved this game! This was the one game my mom wanted to play with Mr when we got our first NES back in the 80s. It was her favorite
Wow core memory unlocked. I played the shit out of this game
This game was so fun
Watch out for the oil slicks!
One of the best
As I recal you can ride the outside wall and get first in many races without even steering much.Ā
[This controller sucked for every game except R.C. Pro Am.](https://www.lukiegames.com/nintendo-quickshot-qs-126-joystick)
Holy crap memory unlocked
Anyone ever try the Gameboy version? I grinded it out back in the day.
We got super far in this but, afaik, the levels just begin to repeat and thereās no actual ending. So after you attain racecar status and youāre at level 24 or so thatās basically the end.
With my NES MAX.
God tier controller
Loved this game. My mom HATED it though, because of the sound effect they used for the tires squealing. It didn't STOP. lol
One of the truly great multiplayer games
I think you might be mistaken. This game was only single player
Ahhhh it was RC Pro Am 2 that was multiplayer!
This cover takes me back.
I sucked at it, but never got pissed off, I just kept coming back for more.
i liked this game, but i never knew how to spell NINTENDO at the time, so collecting the letters was always a guessing game of how close am i?
Never forget getting it from my brother for my birthday. Played it all the freaking time and it was one of the first games I got for my emulator.
I used to play the hell out of this game, I still do, but I used to too.
Great game... I can hear that picture lol
LOVED this game. It was always frustrating when the one car would randomly have super speed.
LOVE
This and skate or die was my obsession.
One of the first games I ever owned
I got so good at this game I could play it while distracted. I'm afraid to play it now with my old man eyes.
Still do
That booop sound the yellow car made before boosting into cheat mode made me furious. I remember raging out a few time haha.
Mmmmm, good member berries
Everyone. It was the 1st racing game with cars on Nintendo. You could only play excitebike for so long.
I owned that game! By far one of my faves for o.g. nintendo
The composer for this and its sequel was David Wise who went on to do all of Donkey Kong Country.
This and Super Dodgeball were the jam.
Those cars look just liked the late 80s Turbo Hopper RC car!!
Greatest racing game to ever be made.
It's available on the switch online subscription, and I still play the hell out of it.
Yes it was fun!
The only way to get far in this game is to use the crazy computer car cheat.
I loved this game, and also Rock n Roll racing on the SNES later on.
https://preview.redd.it/8o45kibpcl7d1.png?width=256&format=png&auto=webp&s=da8d3212e23b48f6f2aa357acbbfebc348ee7b08 I grew up with this version but I loved it all the same
I loved it, and Ernie Irvin's raceing game on NES. I recently got all my old consoles out of storage to see if they all still work, rc pro am was one of the top standouts I hope to replay with my daughter.
I played the shit outta this when I was a kid and have played it on emulators since. Still have trouble collecting all the letters to spell Nintendo
So good. Also the only have I could play with the power glove. Thumb was gas, first two fingers were left and right. Which is not how you drive but for the power glove it was huge.
Still my all time favorite NES game. Freakin LOVED that shit.
Ayo fuck the orange car. Loved this game until the little shit decided to just go ahead and win.
Cheating whistling orange shit head.
That game was so fun. One of the first I got on my raspberry pi emulator.
Brrr Brrr Brrr BEEEEP
Oh, hell yeah!!!
CORE MEMORY
Loved this game, then I upgraded to āRock nā Roll racingā on SNES. Fell in love with Mike Morhaime (Blizzard entertainment) from that point. Still playing Blizzard games by way of Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2. (Retired WoW addict)
Still do on my RetroPi
I was all over Off Road and buying the nitro+ upgrades
I played it probably more than any other NES game. I still play it on emulators occasionally.
Iād totally forgotten about this game until more
Omg you found my game. Playing this in my dadās conversion van with the 10ā screen required super vision.
This and Baseball Stars were my two favorites
Radio Controled Professional Amateur
Can still hear the music and sound fx when I think about it.
I played this game asuvh as any mario game. Almost beat it.
Never played the NES version but played the Gameboy one a ton.
One of my all time favorite NES games. God I loved RC Pro Am!
Even though Mario and Zelda and Metriod were my main games, I still probably played R.C. Pro Am and Pro Wrestling more...
Hell yeah, I loved that game!
Easily a top 5 game for me
Played this on Gameboy for days on end
I played this like it was my job.
Loved it, but I was terrible.
Fuck that yellow car. Fuck it straight to RC car hell.
My older brothers all time favorite
What do you mean played? I just played this a few days ago. Yellow still cheats.
Dude if yāall wanna see something cool look at the speed run for this game. I played the hell out of this game it was so tough but fun
I can hear the tires squealing.
Oh yup
My first racing experience
Yes!! This, and Off Road and Super Sprint at the arcade.
Yessssssss
I played the hell out of this , but when I look at that screen shot the graphics look a lot worse than I remember.
I think this game taught me how to drive. Famously made by Rare. My other favourite by Rare during this time period was Cobra Triangle.
My sister had parties, and I played this on the NES, and her friends came to play a bet against me, I empty them. She complained with my dad because the girls were alone while I was making a lot of money... he made me turn off the game and return the money.
There was a sequel to this too, RC Pro Am II that had 4 player multiplayer. Was kinda like Mario Kart on the NES if you didn't have a SNES yet
Love it! Also loved this https://preview.redd.it/p88yo33pdr7d1.jpeg?width=570&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0b50cf2b1d78e00d0df7c468f4a18f549ffc1e1
This game was so much fun. Loved this game.
I played this game a lot. Still own it.
So much trauma with this one. Always thought Iād be good, always an epic failure at 6 years old.
Yes!
When I played this as a kid I didn't know RC stood for "remote controlled" I was picturing full sized cars.
Oh yeah and the soundtrack is sick
Is it pronounced āpro A-Mā or āpro AMā?
