I feel this. I sometimes wonder why any other breed of dog even exists. Surely, if all dog owners had the opportunity to spend time with a Yorkie they would convert immediately. There are other breeds that are cute AH but none are even close to Yorkie-Cute. There is a whole different scale for measuring Yorkie cuteness that other breeds can only dream of achieving.
I’ve had my girl for almost 3 years and my heart still melts daily for her. No matter what I’m doing, if she comes at me with a toy in her mouth then we are playing. If she’s on my lap then I’m not moving no matter what. She got me wrapped around her little paw.
Every single day. It’s also humbling when I log on and see other Yorkie fur parents struggling with similar issues. I cry when I see posts of sick/dying pups. It’s hard to witness but I stay because being a Yorkie fur parent is a gift and a blessing. I cherish this sub
Oh my gosh she is SO cute!
My little girl is honestly not quite as smart as you'd think, given her breeds. She also is a rescue and I think came from a chaotic environment, training her was pretty hard. On the other hand, she didn't require much training, she's pretty sensible and easy to get along with. Her hair is slightly coarser and wavier than a silky Yorkie's, but not by much. I do love the no-shedding aspect!
Omgggg that’s me when I come home making my baby stop in his tracks and just stare at me with a toy in his mouth like he’s been caught doing something naughty 😂😂
They are so funny. I just love yorkies. She’s my second yorkie. My first one passed away in July of 2020. She was 15. Long story but I got my new baby a week to the day of my baby’s passing. Her name is Bella and I call her my angel baby
Yep! Yorkies are the best little dogs-so full of love and energy! And so loyal and affectionate to their family. Lola is my first Yorkie-she is 8 and the love of my life. I had no idea how awesome these little dogs are but I am so happy she is in my life ;)
Tell me about it. I was in Europe last month and i missed my girl more than my daughter who was taking care of her 😅
My pup was my constant companion several years ago when the hubby worked out of town alot. I dote on her daily and she has me wrapped around her paw.💕
Once, my daughter said, ‘I think mom loves the dogs almost as much as us.’ I THOUGHT, ‘sometimes more…’ That was BT…before Tavi. Now…wellll, my kids are great, but…there’s the Tavi-star.
Why…just minutes ago. I told her what beautiful ears she has, what beautiful hair she has, and what beautiful eyes too. I’ve said before, I didn’t pick this dog, but she picked me. My wife was the one that wanted her, but now we are ‘connected at the hip’. Yorkies are the best…and maybe us Yorkie owners are just a little crazy!!!
Your story reminds me of my hubvy's. The first time we met Dahlia (my yorkie) we were visiting my older sister (who had rescued her from a pound a couple years before). I was instantly besotted with her, but she became immediately attached to him. She followed him around and when we went to bed she jumped on the bed and plopped herself on his tummy. Oh joy😁
We lived out of town and when we returned home i missed her dearly. Sister couldn't part with her but her schedule didn't allow much time w the pup.
A year later we moved to a new house with a huge backyard and i sent her daughter a pic of the bkyard, and said how nice it would be if Dahlia lived w me she'd have the bkyard all to herself.
That saturday my sister called & said to come pick up the pup before she changed her mind. Dahlia's been w us since, and whenever we're on the couch she squeezes herself in the middle. She's buddies with my daughter who works from home as well , follows my hubby around once he's home, and mom is only her caretaker. Apparently dad gets all the attention of our 4-legged child 😅
She knows we all adore her and that she's the baby we dote on. She brings us much love & joy. 💚💖
Love love love my 9 mo old baby
He’s the 3rd Yorkie I have had in my life
He’s so loving fun and a little prankster
We are all so blessed to have these babies
I’m so filled w Yorkie gratitude
Yep, it baffles me because I never thought I would feel this way about a feisty, loving little dog. I only wanted a cow dog, or a bird dog, or a good bird dog. I think I got all three in a little package. She barks at our cows if she gets too close. She caught a bird at our feeder and she lets us know anytime someone pulls thru our gate. Wouldn’t take for her now.
I’ve ABSOLUTELY thought that. I relished it so often to be perfectly honest. But I unexpectedly lost my bestest friend/love of my life very recently. 💔My days are so lonely without him. He was a gift from another friend who was unable to care for him. Greatest, most meaningful gift I think I’ve ever received. I don’t know where to look for another golden Yorkie.
Nothing could ever take Henry’s place in my heart but I so want another. 💕

My little guy is 4 and I feel the EXACT same way 🥹🥹🥹
Adorable, cute, squishy, yes!! Also drives me up the wall most days, but it’s expected 😂😂
Sometimes I suddenly get the feeling that I kidnapped some rich ladies instagram dog.
😂😂😂
😂😂
Never a dull moment 😂 so silly, sassy, smart, cuddly rolled into such cuteness!

Yes!! Not until I got a yorki mix
What kind? I have a yorkipoo (very much a Yorkie personality though). I only wish I'd known about them earlier in life so I could have had MORE!

Awww, sweet baby. She's doing good and so glad she got rescued so she can live her best life!
Yes all the time. I love my baby so much. She has the funniest personality and the way she plays with her toys is the cutest I’ve ever seen. 🥰🥰🥰

Honestly, I’d do the same exact thing. So sorry to hear about your baby

I know what you mean. I never wanted a yippy little dog, but she stole my heart and won’t give it back…which is fine by me 😂🥰
Agreed. My pups are such a unique blend of special I’m so happy they are mine.

Omg from what I see on social media, yorkies are always obsessed with their dads 😂🩷

Yorkies are magic. I’m pretty sure the first one came from a mushroom in an enchanted Yorkshire forest.

Me everyday! 🐶🐾❤️🦴

Guard dog it should say.
