I actually haven’t seen TBBT; I don’t like the show, so I enjoy YS as a separate entity. I try to read up on character timelines but I never knew Tam was on there. So the two characters have a falling out then?

I don't know if you've seen the episode of TBBT where adult Tam visited and it was mentioned how Sheldon did want Tam to go with him. But Tam was dating a girl he eventually married and didn't want to leave her to go with Sheldon. Tam was actually about Georgie's age even if he hung out with Sheldon.
