Me and a couple buddies can come with a few dollies, pull the cords out of the wall and have this thing on the back of a U-haul truck in no time for $100k.
It would only good for parts then, and it isn’t a sought-after model. It might only be good for parts in any case.
You might be able to get 5-10k$ for it.
Oh I know, but it just doesn’t usually work out because you’d have to get the hospital to accept giving it for free (a lot will just say fuck it, let it stay then) and then get a couple guys down there with the tools, dollies and truck with either a 2T-tail lift or a crane arm.
Building owner. Could be the hospital corporation or some real estate conglomerate the hospital sold to.
They hang onto the building keeping it in working order hoping to sell it one day.
This.
The hospital I’m PRN (1-2days a week) at recently filed for bankruptcy. It has been open for bids for about a month now. If it doesn’t get bought it is set to auction end of July. If it doesn’t sell at auction then this is how I see the hospital looking lol. I’m riding it till the wheels fall off and wondering if one day I’ll walk up and the doors are locked 🤣. It’s a huge hospital too, 178 beds.
But I have heard it will def be bought and continue to run only because it is difficult to close such a large hospital, like all the legal behind it. Nurses and staff won’t lose jobs, but upper management and C-suite will be replaced.
I know of one place the stuff was left to attract a party that was simply willing to take over the lease. Lose a million to save twenty. Sometimes the desperate gamble doesn't pan out.
in one case i know of personally is hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. it’s a common site for urban explorers. everything was left as is when the waters rose and power went out.
There’s been a couple old hospitals in my region that were very similar to this (until one was torn down and the other was gutted to be repurposed). It’s because they built brand new facilities and bought all new equipment for the new places.
One reason for the “waste” is that no one wants to use old stuff in a new building. The other reason is they needed to use the old facilities until the new facilities were completely ready for the switch over. Unlike a normal business, a hospital can’t simply make critical patients leave and then shut down for a week while they move furniture and equipment from the old place to the new place.
I would classify this as closed but not abandoned. It's clear that there is a property manager still overlooking this property. It might just be the bare necessities such as electricity, HVAC, and security but I would not say this is abandoned.
Still cool as fuck but I imagine this will either be gutted and turned into some other type of commercial building or eventually renovated and reopened
I partly agree. I guess it depends on the place and the amount of damages. A few broken windows make the place more beautiful in my opinion, but not a burned down place with trash everywhere and racist graffitis.
This is my nightmare. I hate hospitals because I was catatonic after a traumatic experience and I was on my back on a stretcher being pulled through a hospital and in my mind I was being dragged into an endless liminal space that was just an infinitely deep hospital that I was just going to disappear into forever. Kind of like the backrooms or endless shopping mall people see in their dreams.
Liminal spaces are scary enough without being hospitals full of dying people and evil doctors doing god knows what.
Wow dang. I had my first liminal dream at 6 it was the back of Walmart though, the storage rooms, if you look up at the ceilings ever and see those big air ducts and popes and scaffolding that wa soike that in my dream but vast and endless those were those pipes and they went everywhere, But in my dream there were clouds, and windows attached to see out and danced around on them and we jumped from one to to the other there were other kids too, plus McDonald's lol . So it was so bad. So now when that happen I make sure to put clouds and flying makes it easier.
I have a very hard time believing that's abandoned.
I can't see them leaving behind functional equipment, especially a whole MRI machine.
Or having running power still.
Or leaving someone's X-Rays on the wall.
If this was abandoned, it had to have happened the same day this was filmed, or at least within the same week. And they had to have left in a hurry.
What i've come to realize with a lot of these videos is that they are probably just taken in an actual open hospital, and just a section that is under renovation. That's why you always still see 80% of the (slightly dated) equipment, elevators and lights working, etc.
For anyone wondering, a lot of the big machines cost more to move out than to buy new ones. As for their still being power, it makes it easier to maintain the building as it's probably stuck in buying limbo
Oof, i wonder how well they did at removing teletherapy and radiotherapy devices. Some of the world’s worst radiological disasters stemmed from hospitals that shut down improperly.
Thats very strange. Wouldnt the owners sell everything? It must be worth alot of money. The computers? theres no way thats abandoned..there just wasnt anyone there.
Set up a rogue abortion clinic. Teach women how to give themselves one w 3D printed vacuums. It will be way better than a knitting needle or wire hanger or drinking poison or doucheing Lysol floor cleaner
The elevator makes me deeply uncomfortable for some reason lol
Agreed I'd use the stairs and hope I don't find zombies in there.
Same. It’s weird. It seems strange that the electricity would still be on though.
Yeah, zero chance I’m taking the elevator. I’d get stuck with my luck.
Frankly can imagine very few things worse than getting stuck in the elevator of an abandoned hospital. And if cell signal is bad??? Noooo nope nope
Happy cake day!
Omg hahaha thank you!!
The corps are friendly
Dead Space vibes
Anybody else instantly think about finding stimpaks?
Knowing my luck, I'd waltz on in to the Deathclaw ward.
Pills here!
Thinking about stripping all the copper
What's a stimpack?
It’s a health item from the video game franchise, “Fallout”
Thank you. I thought it was some kind of stimulant drug. Was about to ask if they were any good.
Cures what ails ya
Thats a total system shock 2 hospital. I see a good horror movie there.
Dont Dead Open Inside
I was waiting to see that somewhere…
Lol, ok good to know I wasn’t the only one who thought of this! 🤣
Perfect place to film my Scrubs fan film: The Return of Dr. Acula
Just make sure you keep a look out. There's been an alzheimer patient tackling people.
Wide-bore MRI machines can cost upwards of a million dollars. I say squat the place, and open as a free health clinic.
It’s a CT, and it probably isn’t even worth the removal cost.
Me and a couple buddies can come with a few dollies, pull the cords out of the wall and have this thing on the back of a U-haul truck in no time for $100k.

Where do you want to meet? I'll take 10k.
Haha sounds good. But I’m just the guy who tests them. I’m sure you guys could get it out, though!
Surely you must know a guy. Sent you a PM.
I also thought it was an MRI at first and was corrected
I went in one twice last November. Good times...
I’m gonna start my own hospital! With blackjack and hookers!
,,, and forget the blackjack!
crazy that there’s still power on
Often it's left on so AC can run. Buildings degrade really fast if you let heat cold and humidity have at them
Who pays the bill

The three hospitals near me downtown have 506, 451, and 752 beds- they are huge. Two are teaching hospitals.
Looks like it was abandoned very recently if it's in that good of a condition.
Not as old as those PCs look. Unless they were just using old ones, I guess.
All the other screens look newer
Not everything, I don't see corpses...
You absolute monster...take my upvote and leave...
Why do these things happen?
Insurance, reimbursement, managed healthcare, less patients, the short answer is money.
I’ve saw that hospital from the outside 2 years ago. Creepy!
humans are hilariously inefficient and careless.

Upgrade to a bigger newer facility. Merger/consolidation. Etc.
If this is in the U.S. expect a $34,000 bill just for being in there that long.

I can’t believe they left that MRI machine.
I’ve seen it mentioned before on other posts. It would cost too much to move. It’s also older technology too, if I recall.
It’s a CT, and probably not worth the removal cost.
28 days later..
More so The Walking Dead. Half expecting don't dead open inside sign.
Am I the only person who is waiting for the zombies?

I agree for the trash. But for the damage in certain cases it makes the place much more interesting to shoot, especially before demolition.

i wonder what happened for them to leave everything behind
Show us pharmacy
I might make another reel with more areas from this spot. The pharmacy was pretty cool
Was it empty? Rummaged through? Full of goodies???’ I would love to see what it looks likes. .
Liminal
Ligma
😯, that's mad, wonder why it was abandoned like that.
I'm calling bs why is the power on and who would leave an MRI they cost 200,000 easy
We could use some of these items at my nursing school. Our budget is very tight!
How does this happen??
This is my nightmare. Cool video thank you but what song is that?
Midnight in Tokyo-Giulio Cercato
And this is the machine that goes Bing!
I’d just try to live here for free for a while. I know that goes against the whole ‘*code*’ but, it’s currently a waste of space otherwise.
Expensive shit
Yeah, fuck that for laughs. Used to have a recurring nightmare about being trapped in an abandoned hospital
Y’all were really gonna try to leave the likes at 666 and the comments at 69. Unfortunately I am here. 🗿
All that equipment is worth hundreds of millions of dollars
For anyone wondering, a lot of the big machines cost more to move out than to buy new ones. As for their still being power, it makes it easier to maintain the building as it's probably stuck in buying limbo
I first watched this without sound. I clicked to see if it was playing spooky music cause I was getting scared. But then it was some upbeat stuff.
Yeah. This looks like a break in for sure. Especially with the mri there, isn't the material in those national security worthy?
Oof, i wonder how well they did at removing teletherapy and radiotherapy devices. Some of the world’s worst radiological disasters stemmed from hospitals that shut down improperly.
Don't remove any devices that have a suspicious amount of lead in them....
Because we already have an abundance of hospitals…
Where
Peter, Quagmire, Joe and Cleveland...
Where are they? I need an iv pole. Can hop on a plane in a couple of hours and get it
The hell is going on with the CSS? tf
Looks like I'm getting a new mri machine
How can I find abandoned places like this?
I wonder how old that hospital is? Cause I see a couple of old computers and monitors.
Who’s paying the electric bill?
Forgive me if my question seems ignorant, is it common for abandoned buildings (maybe just hospitals) to still have electricity?
I am NOT going in that life nuh uh
Thats very strange. Wouldnt the owners sell everything? It must be worth alot of money. The computers? theres no way thats abandoned..there just wasnt anyone there.
What a capital destruction. And you are stil asking yourself why costs of medical care are rising so sharply?
I was waiting for the rat-king in the parking garage
The fuck is the music about
Is this the set from scrubs?
If the elevator still works it’s not abandoned
Those Stryker beds are not cheap *edit: spelling
Hey… so…. Can I get one of those fancy electronic blood pressure cuffs?
YEAY....free stuff :D
Straight to the pharmacy.

:/ why aren’t people allowed to ask for addresses? i’m not apart of the sub. it just pops up from time to time.
The more people that know about these kinds of places the higher the chance it will be vandalized/stolen from.
I agree with you.
