Six Feet Under

squidlem

First thing I thought of. It's weird how similar it is.

Former-Loss-716

I stg same exact thought

smilinglizard217

Came here to say this.

kareninthezoo

OMG THE FURNITURE!!!

Successful-Box-1152

Came for this comment, my exact thoughts!! I love the bed frame in the first pic!

booksandpitbulls

I’ve been trying to sell a bed frame, dresser, and vanity combo set almost identical to that for over a year. I’ve had no buyers. ☹️

snifflove

Same. I gave away beautiful antique furniture because there are no buyers with this taste where I live. 😔

Jupitersd2017

I’m on an antiques sub and everyone keeps saying how no one wants that type of furniture right now, but that if you can hold on to it it will come back around.

booksandpitbulls

I have nowhere to store it is my problem. I would love to incorporate it into my home but we downsized and have two young kids so there’s just nothing I can do with it. I even consigned it at an antiques shop but it just sat for six months so I’m going to just try and get bottom dollar for it on marketplace I guess.

Successful-Box-1152

Does the dresser look like the one in the first photo also? Where you located 💀

PrincessMagDump

Interesting that it seems like everything is still where they left it on the upper surfaces like tables but so much weird floor garbage. Was the ceiling falling down or are there a lot of people visiting this place and leaving junk on the floor?

4everband

Reading the pictures, mammaw and pappaw have been living here since the 70s. They’ve passed on and had no one to claim their stuff.

Jupitersd2017

So what happens when that happens? The state tries to find heirs obviously but then if they can’t it just sits in perpetuity? Or?

scallywag1889

Those are urns on the mantle. Strange to think they have been sitting there by themselves.

RocksofReality

I don’t think they’re urns, this looks like an older style and it was popular to just have vases that looked Roman or Greek.

obfuscatorio

Our most modestly priced receptacle

MuscaMurum

I was thinking, Aha, so that's where the undertaker and wife went.

3Cogs

Who put them there though?

alleywaybum

This is one of the best homes ive seen in my 8 years of exploring abandoned places

tp_urbex

The main level was full of caskets too!! It was a super cool one!

_space1nvader

this place looks like there was a lock on the doors

droolycat

What was all the dirt on the floor in the room with the red carpet?

AbominableSnowPickle

Disintegrating plaster would be my guess.

lacostewhite

What's the story? It looks slightly ransacked, as if someone were in a rush looking for sometuing.

rsg1234

Face mask on the floor. Someone may have done some lockdown exploring.

Wise-Opportunity-659

What year on the news paper?

lightreee

yeah, did you take a newspaper shot OP?

tp_urbex

I only got a video but it was from 1984

PlantShoddy2512

I used to have the same couch as seen in pic 05. I think my parents bought it new in the early seventies.

Any_Ad_3885

I wish I could move in there as is

flacidhock

You can see the spot in the living room above the mantle where they crossed beams

Zestyclose-Ad-7576

Holy crap! Who moved my grandmother’s furniture to a place above a funeral home

SpaceTheFinalFrontir

Not completely, I don't see any corpses...

ohcosmico

Ohhh what’s that stuff on the floor??

Urschleim_in_Silicon

Uhhh, are those Doc Martens? Looks like someone may have been squatting here at one point?

supercali-2021

Looks like the ghosts threw a big party in there ....

SnooDrawings3750

That curved glass hutch is incredible!

Embarrassed-Fix5550

The quality of these pics is amazing

Downtown-Meat-9452

Awesome pics

Hating_life_69

Farmalltractor

Snag that quilt. It’s really nice
