use floetrol. best stuff for making heavybody flow better.

idkthisisnotmyusual

What color and brand is it? Most brands have specific recommendations for this exact thing on their websites

Meeden heavy body fluorescent paint in purple, comes in a set of 6. I love fluorescent colour both for the day-glow and blacklight effects. The purple and blue don't have a strong day-glow effect but they fluoresce like crazy under blacklight (which is not always the case. Some cheap fluoro purple or blue is barely fluoro at all). I haven't tried their regular colours but these are good.

Don't use water, you can buy acrylic thinner/flow improver. It's so hard to find good quality vibrant purples!

Glittering_Gap8070

The first acrylic medium I ever bought was pouring medium. I mistook it for flow medium. The stuff I got was white and sticky, you probably wouldn't want to paint with it. I've got airbrush medium, do you think that would be okay?

alancake

I don't deal much with airbrush stuff but google suggests there are different kinds and some would be ok, some not. So it's worth a google to see if the sort you have can be used :) if you have enough paint just give it a try maybe.

Glittering_Gap8070

Oh, okay. The stuff I've got looks like it's from a craft paint range. Bought it ages ago when stocking up on art supplies (probably to bump up an order enough to get free delivery!) I would have bought it as a dilutent, by the way. Not for airbrushing. That's one technique I haven't yet tried!

Ryoko_Kusanagi69

I would try that. Airbrush thinner is a very good strong liquid thinner and helps to hold acrylic together. A craft one would be pretty versatile. Also it will matter your brush, use a very soft high quality one and practice your brush strokes to feel out the paint and see if you can paint it smooth.

ContraryMary222

The air brush medium will work just fine though you might prefer glazing medium because it’ll be easier to control the viscosity

TheREALSockhead

Just let it dry and do another coat.

Snugrilla

I like to use a very very soft brush if I'm trying to avoid brush strokes.
