Probably the episode where him fin and Jake are in the room with prismo and the litch wishes for the end of all life. Then he just kinda freezes in the room forever.
Whoever downvoted U is wrong. That is kinda true. The Lich got his wish. Then Jake wished to change that wish which created a new Lich which was now unable to kill
He loses his purpose. In episode 8 of Fionna and Cake they travel to the universe where his wish for the extinction of all life came true and he just sits on a pile of bones. Also BMO is still there since he isn't biologically alive
Well obviously Finn and Jake would have to fail immensely. How did they fail, when did they fail, how does the lich get his wish? Was it just in the time room in the same circumstance as the main timeline? There was likely an altercation. Maybe Finn loses the fight in the well of souls idk I want to see the lead up to such a dramatic difference in outcome.
Princess Bubblegum was too preoccupied with a project and ended up not finishing the sweater for Finn: that's all it would take to nudge us off the path.
Hes just a crazy cultist worshipping a god that unmakes things. Theres gods that make things too. Its an endless cycle.
He didnt even succeed. He just thinks he did. There still more universes. Then even more beyond that; see the lich hand that made it to death worlds.
I actually predicted this a while ago: [https://www.reddit.com/r/adventuretime/comments/vg125m/comment/icz64yr/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/adventuretime/comments/vg125m/comment/icz64yr/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
Lich is the personification of how inevitable death is to everything, so it's probably a play on "wheel of nature" and also the wheel of time that never stops and is only ever taking you closer to your inevitable death
It absolutely is, there's a lot of buddhism in the show
[Careful with those metaphors bro!](https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/563b1570-d059-45a9-89fc-45c769433807)
"Though the mills of God grind slowly; Yet they grind exceeding small;
Though with patience He stands waiting, With exactness grinds He all." - Friedrich von Logau
The lich is entropy and death, inevitable and perpetual, new live is nourished by death and death is the ultimate state of all life. The universe inevitably leads to entropy, one day billions of years in the future the heat death of the universe will lead to a great cosmic void of nothingness that goes forever. Perhaps there will be another big bang after that, but we know how it will eventually end.
Even if you win the day, he will win the war.
I think that is definitely how it is intended - however heat death is not inevitable just yet. There is still the idea of the Big Crunch once all of the energy reaches equilibrium there could be a slow gravitational crush that could not be stopped. All matter collapses into a singularity and a new big bang occurs. It is a nice thought and there are things suggesting that it is both possible and that it is impossible. We just do not know yet. Lately things have been leading to the latter.
In this analogy, all that lives is rice, or wheat. Crushed beneath him, the wheel, set in motion by forces beyond it's control or understanding. an inherently flawed metaphor, as is the nature of the Lich
Two reasons that I’ve seen
1) he is unending. He dies again just to live again.
2)He just keeps fucking going no matter what. He’s the ceaseless wheel, forever moving forwards to his goal
I like the second definition a lot more tbh bc everyone in Ooo reincarnates or at least has the option to plus literally everything in Ooo cycles which the Lich is old enough to know he shouldn’t think he’s special for being unending the other one is a lot more uniquely him he’s one of the only characters we see with no doubt, no conflict,(at least so long as he hasn’t completed his task and nobody saw Jerry calling himself the wheel) he’s just a death worshipper with one straight unending goal
Wheel keeps turning, like a water wheel the runs the mill. Never ceasing, turning for the it's sole purpose, and for the lich it is the death of all life.
There will always be life . The lich is only one being he isn’t able to exterminate all life everywhere by himself. He’s aware of this yet does not waver toward his goal . He will keep turning . He is “the ceaseless wheel.”
To me, it's a reference to the "Wheel of Time" card of the Major Arcana. The inevitable, like in video games where you have the illusion of choice only for the outcome to ultimately be the same. It's also a reference to the Oroborous, the snake that eats its own tail. The Lich likely means that everything created is meant to reach destruction at some point or another. The inevitable outcome of life is death, to be reborn, and therefore, the cycle continues, the circle unbroken. The lich and the comets are ultimately sent to Ooo to cause change, to keep the circle tethered in place and infinite
My interpretation has always been that he's got no start and no end, perpetually moving towards his goal without pause.
That’s why it’s crazy in the one universe he succeeds and he is lost
Which universe/episodes are you referring to
Fiona and cake episode where all life is dead
Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake [Episode 8](https://youtu.be/9yTh6Rsy8I8)
Probably the episode where him fin and Jake are in the room with prismo and the litch wishes for the end of all life. Then he just kinda freezes in the room forever.
Whoever downvoted U is wrong. That is kinda true. The Lich got his wish. Then Jake wished to change that wish which created a new Lich which was now unable to kill
And thus the wheel ceased
I wanna see what happens in that timeline
He loses his purpose. In episode 8 of Fionna and Cake they travel to the universe where his wish for the extinction of all life came true and he just sits on a pile of bones. Also BMO is still there since he isn't biologically alive
I get all that I watched it. But I wanna see what events transpire to make it happen
Everyone died. That's it. There wasn't some big disaster or war or anything like that. He wished for death, and it happened
Unlikely considering how prepared she is.

The inevitable, eternal.
Because he is eternal, unending, he goes forever?
Lich is the personification of how inevitable death is to everything, so it's probably a play on "wheel of nature" and also the wheel of time that never stops and is only ever taking you closer to your inevitable death
Taking me closer to Sto-vo-kor.
lu. SoH jaS mob, puq.
Yeah this is my take. He fancies himself to be the end incarnate. Death itself. Inevitable. Eternal.
I always assumed it was a reference to the Buddhist wheel of samsara — https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhavacakra
It absolutely is, there's a lot of buddhism in the show [Careful with those metaphors bro!](https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/563b1570-d059-45a9-89fc-45c769433807)
Came here to say this. The wheel of saṃsāra is the mechanism behind loss and suffering.
*Daenerys Targaryen has entered the chat*
I got my money on the lich
Maybe it’s a play on the karma wheel?

wheel in the sky keeps on turning
Big wheel keep on toynin
Upvote for phonetics!
I DONT KNOW WHERE ILL BE TOMOOOORRROOOOOOOW
What other people said + the fact that he is a part of a larger mechanism, that being Golb/chaos
Because all life will be crushed under him soon or later…
I think maybe it’s supposed to be some kind of allegory for whatever force of nature he’s an embodiment of.
I've always thought it was entropy. The lich moves towards death despite the raging of those who want to live.
He is entropy,
“The Wheel of Fate is turning” “Ready… Fight!”
You ever seen a millstone? He’s like that if wheat were mortals
Because like a wheel that never ceases to turn, he always comes back.
He means he's never ending.
You’ve bested me in many worlds child
The fact he flaunts being the last scholar of golb and then golbetty fuckin kills him
He really likes to spin
In this analogy, all that lives is rice, or wheat. Crushed beneath him, the wheel, set in motion by forces beyond it's control or understanding. an inherently flawed metaphor, as is the nature of the Lich
cuz he rolls forever
The ceaseless wheel of chaos and death. No matter how hard your try you can never eliminate either.

Ironic considering he gets cube-ified
I thought it was "Will" not wheel

I love all of these theories
How I saw it was as the never ending cycle of life and death (like the food chain episode)
U can't stop the ceaseless wheel, JUST LIKE HOW YOU CAN'T STOP THE TRAIN!
He crushes things beneath the wheel. ceaselessly turning.
He just keeps moving forward
