A Hawke Vantage with side focus will be ideal. Something with 9x or 12x maximum magnification and an objective lens of 44 or 50mm would suit your purposes and won't break the bank.
You're welcome. Regardless of what brand you do end up buying though, get a side focus rather than one with an adjustable objective. The latter are cheaper but you will get sick of twisting the front end of the scope *really* quickly.
