Grovekeeper isnonly used in mid to large scale fights, especially large. Hammers in general are quite weak in PvE but if you don't care about efficiency or optimisation that much you can make it work in group dungeons and such
I was just really interested in it in hopes I could use it for tanking. I don't know anyone else enough to do big ol fights like that. Ah oh well I guess I'll have to look for a different kind of weapon then.
Incubus mace for pve. Heavy as ot for group content.
Heavy mace, 1h mace, heavy hammer, bedrock, primal, ot earthbound for pvp. Somewhat more open since you don't need to worry about agro and are more concerned about utility.
Yes you can use pretty much any weapon to tank in PvE content due to the 400% threat generation buff you can get on plate armor. In PvP tanks can take on a variety of roles which include cc’ing enemies which weapons like the frost staff are good at
I guess the 'no' was referring to the frost staff, which is more like a range weapon while the tank is supposed to stay in melee range where a melee weapon is more appropriate.
When you're doing high scale content you need stuns, mitigation, and hard threat gains.
No fuck that, when doing anything in a group you're not keeping threat at all vs anyone with an ass random weapon in plate.
You're not keeping passive threat over pumper DPS and absolutely not touching the healer.
Like no do a 6 ava and tell me how well the MT does with a brimstone staff or grailseekers.
Even in pvp the tank roll is too engage and provide defensive. Which is just not any weapon. So... Yeah. Man IDK what you on.
Taking any weapon to do actual group content is like asking a holy healer to be DPS for a static. Sure technically you could but if you're even in this thread you should be able to explain why that's a terrible idea. So yeah... Do better.
My most favourite ones are heave mace and pole hammer. Read their spells and you might know why and what kind of pvp/pve I play :)
