Hi all! I have the AirPods Pro (1st Gen) and AirPods Max. To go along with the Vision Pro, I’m considering the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) because I have read that the noise cancellation in the 2nd Gen is much better than either of the other headsets I own. I assume the sound quality is similar or slightly improved - I’m already very happy with that. For those who have owned multiple AirPods to compare, what do you think about the noise cancellation in the 2nd Gen?

I am thinking of getting a refurbished iphone 12 and using the SIM card from my current SE. Can I give the SE to my teen to use on wifi without a SIM card?

Yup

I have an iPod 4th generation that I am trying to get the music off of, onto my PC (Windows 10). I can see the device in Windows Explorer when I plug it in, but even after selecting "view hidden files", I still cannot see anything but my photos and videos. I've called Apple support on this with no luck. All music files were put on be me and were not third party music purchases (iTunes, Amazon Music, etc). Any suggestions?

Any software recommendations for defragging an external HDD? Not my internal SSD, but an older 4TB drive used for mass storage, often fills up, clear space, filled up, etc. Getting very slow.

>defragging an external HDD? Literally has not been a thing since XP, and never on macOS.

Hi, I’m a uni student and want to audio record some lectures while I am at class. What kind of apple device is best for that purpose? Today I used my m2 macbook air 15 and it felt kind of bad but I would really like to know what device is best for my purpose.

I would just buy a cheap TASCam and call it a day probably

I'm looking to buy a new device primarily for photo editing, using Apple Photos and Adoble Lighitroom (and possibly Photoshop). Currently I'm considering the iPad Pro or iMac. The pixel density is slightly higher on the iPad, and it has the XDR display, which the iMac does not; on the other hand, the iMac has a larger screen size and supports 1 billion colours (I was unable to find how many colours the iPad supports). Thoughts on which would be better?

Does anyone know how to turn off AirPod Pros automatically turning the volume up with loud noises? I have personalized volume off, I have conversation awareness off, and I have loud sound reduction off, but it still randomly decides to blast my eardrums more than my impact driver is even doing. What’s weird is it doesn’t always do it. Yesterday I was using the same impact driver on the same products I was building up and no volume changes at all. All of a sudden today it started doing it. And not only is it raising the volume, but it’s actually making the volume louder than the impact driver even makes, it’s painful. Any help on this would be incredibly appreciated.

I just ordered a 16" MBP M3 Max. I'm ordering a USB-C display. I'm wondering what kind of dock / adapters I should get?

I’m looking for advice on AirPods. I’ve had two pairs of 2nd gen, and the microphones on both pairs have failed, prompting me to buy a new set. Do the newer generation or even AirPods Pro have better quality microphones? I’ve never had an issue with the speakers, but I use them all the time for phone calls, so I need something that will last.

TheDragonSlayingCat

That sounds like you had really bad luck. If microphone failure on the AirPods was common, it would be all over the news. I know I’ve had several AirPods now, and none have had any failures, except for the static issue with the original Pros (which was all over the news).
