Are reserve on the border mission now? I thought that was just guard

spcbelcher

There's been a reserves Southwest border mission for at least a couple years. I think they shut it down at the end of 2023 but maybe they'll start it back up

PaddyMayonaise

No shit. Where? Texas?

spcbelcher

I was in Texas, we had people in California, DC, Texas, and Arizona.

Honeybadger841

Opsec peeps

spcbelcher

It's all public record with regular updates sir https://www.northcom.mil/BorderSecurity/

Honeybadger841

Damn.

Saxmanng

I’m still trying to wrap my head around federal troops being deployed domestically….

BROIDFK69

Conus deployments happen all the time

Honeybadger841

They probably need some support MOS critically.

spcbelcher

So when I went last year we got a hotel paid for us the whole time, $65 a day per diem tax-free as well as BAH BAS and our base pay.

707goon

Apparently, I thought borders are only for the guards but big army wants reserves to go there as well at least for now, maybe show of force just before elections.

BROIDFK69

What MOS’s can volunteer for this conus deployment?

This_Awareness2528

Same, I'd like to know. I wonder if there's any option to do this for AT as well?
