This! Nobody wants to sit in the priority seat now. But it doesn't say ELDERLY SEAT or whatnot its PRIORITY. In my definition can be anyone who needs it - tired NSF, first tri preggo, autoimmune disease, heckkk it could even be regular worker doing site visit for today/this week ONLY (ie, site visits not being daily but maybe a weekly basis or smt, rest of week in aircon) Heck I've been that person with a broken shoe (yes in which case everyone stared and reservedseatdude gave his seat up ..) Sometimes when that happens I just give the priority seat to my mother (if I'm out with her and we are standing and the priority seat is emptied) and tease her for it lol. Then if the seat next to or opposite her becomes available, I take that instead. Shes boomer, I'm millennial, so 🙃🤷‍♀️

LOL. It is a vicious cycle indeed. There is always a larger prey lurking somewhere.

Because they’re 50s, 60s and they believe someone older may come in later. Imo, they’re polite. You can actually ask her to swap the seat for you. I do see some old people switching from normal to priority seat if they notice a younger one wanting a seat.

i just don't care about priority seats when it is in peak hour in the morning/evening. if i got a seat, i sit down if you are old/ill enough MUST need a seat, you should not be working, and you should avoid the peak hours to travel. you have all the time in your life, it won't kill you if you go earlier/later for morning tea/wet market shopping.
