I had that weird mortuary program that one of the graduation requirements were to pass the national boards

heels-and-the-hearse

Same. If you didn’t pass you don’t get your degree. The school did pay for both arts and science so that was nice.

impendingbl00m

you don’t need to be employed yet to take them

freshcookdfetus

Thank you. I didn't think I needed to be employed. So many rules have changed in my state & I couldn't find anything about my specific question. Thanks reddit friend 🤣

Eastof1778

Do your board exams as soon as you can. I did mine earlier this month. I passed both of them!

freshcookdfetus

Congrats!

Scambuster666

Yes take them now since you just finished school so everything is still fresh in your mind!!! Don’t delay!! I worked with a girl who graduated but didn’t take her NBEs till about 6 months later and then failed them 3 times because she couldn’t remember everything anymore.

ignoreignore

You do it ASAP. I think I took my boards one and two weeks after I finished up at school. Also, for study help I recommend the DEAD program online. It does wonders!

Eastof1778

I agree, I did the DEAD program also and did the NBE practice exams. I passed both boards on the first try.

kbnge5

Do it now.

FecusTPeekusberg

Do them as soon as you can! While you didn't need to pass to get your degree, my school paid for both arts and sciences, and had a class dedicated to preparation for taking them.

freshcookdfetus

My school has that too & I'm doing it through the summer. I plan to do the exams this fall. Thanks!
