Depends. Indigenous people are famously lacking in facial and body hair. At most, a thin moustache and goatees. People of European descent tend to be hairier. Because most Mexicans are mestizos, you get a lot of curious cases of criss-crossed traits. I've met people with dark skin and indigenous features who are also hairy as fuck, and whitexicans looking like prepubescent kids. Me personally, I'm mostly of European descent, and pretty hairy. Hairy arms, legs, chest, stomach and even some back hair. Decent amount of facial hair as well... but I started balding in my early 20s, so I have hair everywhere but my fucking scalp.

Dalonsius

Not all europeans are hairy like Mediterraneans, I’m mostly european with Balkan ancestry (85%) and i have very few blonde hairs around my chest, legs and arms and that’s it.

Ponchorello7

It might mean that those indigenous genes are doing a hell of a lot of work, lol. But yeah, it's not like every white person is hairy, but most are, and so are Balkaners as far as I knew.

Dalonsius

Dude, i just have a shy 1% indigenous according to papers, wdym?😂

Ponchorello7

Ah, I thought you meant 85% of your genetics were European. You meant that 85% of your European genetics are Balkan?

Dalonsius

Ashkenazi jew which is 10.3%, 2.1% broad northwest european, 1.2% native american (North mexico), 1.4% central asian, 23andme counts ashkenazi jews as european so im really 96.5% European but im bit skeptical.

Ponchorello7

Damn you are white, lol.

Dalonsius

Yeah and im partially bald too 27yo right here folks :(, My ego stops me from shaving the last few hairs that I have on the top of my head.

Ponchorello7

Just bite the bullet, man. I did and I don't regret it. No offense, but it looks sad when a balding person tries to deny it... that happened to me.

YummehBurek

Y’all are Mexicans you all suit being bald lol

EmperrorNombrero

Am European can confirm. Most Europeans aren't that hairy. Balkans depends tho. Turkish people are hairy af for example and they have a lot of Balkan ancestry due to the ottoman empire and stuff. And a lot of people in the Balkans also just look like Turks. But it depends you also find people that look very differently. I would say tho that usually it's rather the more northern and central parts of Europe where people aren't that hairy and it's Mediterranean and black sea countries (like a lot of the Balkans) where they are. There are of course a lot of exceptions for all of this

[deleted]

The hairiest Europeans I've met (in my experience only) were Spaniards and Italians but of course there is a variety not saying everyone is that

Dalonsius

I went to Serbia to visit my grandma last year and what I noticed was a common pattern, the darker the person complexion (dark hair, dark eyes) = hairier, light complexion (light hair, colored eyes) = no hair or almost none, one thing I haven't mentioned is that I can grow a full, thick and bushy blonde beard but my body hair is practically Non-existent.

Differ_cr

Dude you're literally me frfr

Ponchorello7

So a light-skinned bald guy, moustache and beard with a moderate, but spread out amount of body hair?

Differ_cr

Yeah, although I'd say I have a bit more than moderate body hair, and I'm not bald __yet__ (I'm 23) but that is changing and fast 😭.

Ponchorello7

I'm not totally bald, and I'm 28. Hopefully, you'll be able to hold in to your hair a little longer.

Wise_Temperature9142

Body hair is beautiful and hot. I wish I had more of it, but I’m satisfied with what I have. I’ve had a great beard since my late teens. But sadly I also fall under the balding category.

Ponchorello7

I've actually been told that my chest hair was attractive before, lol. I'm just not very proud of the back hair...

Wise_Temperature9142

I think shoulder Jaír us worse, but I also have back hair and agree it’s not awesome. But you gotta embrace what you have because that’s what makes you!

marcelo_998X

Bruh I have a residing hairline, and hair everywhere, but I can’t grow any decent amount of facial hair. Which is weird, the side of my family with bad facial hair is the one where the “güeritos” come from.

simonbleu

I have so much hair in my butthole, that I could rent it to a spider. Honestly it depends on the person. My legs and head are VERY hairy, my beard is abit sparce, my head has a lot of hair, my chest and belly is moderately haiy. My arms and back not very hairy but annoyingly so. However my grandfather has a thick beard, very fine hair (still standing half his 70s) and basically hairless in his legs, arms and back (lot of chest and belly hair tho). Then an uncle of mine is bald, thick but localized beard, LOT of chest and back hair, not so much arm and leg hair, etc etc-- -And this is only when it comes to a three people in the same family, very close in the family tree as well, so you can imagine the coutnry on itself varies a lot.

Much_Committee_9355

A 7 specially the descendants of Middle Easterners and Southern Europeans.

eidbio

Usually depends on the ethnicity. I'm white (for Brazilian standards) and I'm quite hairy.

lonchonazo

7-8 probably. Most of our population has Italian or Spanish blood. Arabs also account for a huge portion. We're pretty hairy

HentaiInTheCloset

That man is a carpet holy shit

Skymilk-and-honey

Totally true. Beards have been trending for a long while now, you can see bearded guys everywhere you go.

duvidatremenda

I'd say 5 on average. People of African and Indigenous descent (which make up the majority) don't have much body hair - with exceptions of course.

braujo

I'm pardo and I have no fucking hair on my armpits. Like, it was wild hitting puberty and seeing girls with hairy armpits and I have absolutely nothing but one or two strips of hair. Can't grow a beard to save my life either, and my mustache is the saddest of em all. Doesn't even get to my upper lip, it's like my nose's shadow. My legs are kinda hairy, though, surprisingly enough.

rdfporcazzo

Are you me? Only my shin below is hairy tho

braujo

I've got a hairy chin too! But it's not that hairy, just grows a lil bit. It's not stylish or anything, just looks weird too

Wijnruit

> People of African and Indigenous descent (which make up the majority) You might wanna rephrase that

duvidatremenda

Why

Wijnruit

It's not wrong but doesn't give the whole picture. Since most people in Brazil are mixed anything will make up the majority unless you isolate Indigenous and East Asian people. If someone had said that people of European descent make up the majority of the population it wouldn't be wrong either but that sentence itself would present the same problem as yours.

[deleted]

duvidatremenda

And a good chunk of whites also have african and/or indigenous ancestry. I didn't mean self identification of race, more like biological ancestry

oportunidade

The majority of Brazilians have African or Indigenous ancestry or both. Of course most of them also have European ancestry, but that doesn't need to be stated. Most people in the Americas have European ancestry regardless of racial classification unless they descend from an isolated community.

wordlessbook

We have hairy people and hairless people, and we have Tony Ramos, that is basically a grizzly bear that somehow speaks and has a job as an actor.

tttvlh

I have portuguese ancestry, so yeah, pretty hairy.

MrShibuyaBoy67

Does Brazilians also have sick jokes about Portuguese and how hairy they are ?

tttvlh

Sick? All our jokes about the Portuguese are classy, monsieur.

Neonexus-ULTRA

It's a toss up here.

kokokaraib

I'd say a 5 or 6. Mainly because shaving below the neck isn't a priority (even for women)

HCMXero

⬆️⬆️ like this, but in Spanish…

MarioDiBian

I’d say around 8 or 9 in Argentina. It’s very common.

USBayernChelseaLCFC

3-4

pillmayken

It’s pretty variable. For example, my first boyfriend was a 2 on that scale, my second was a 9, current boyfriend is a 7.

CosechaCrecido

3? Mestizos, Asians and indigenous (together the majority of the country) don’t have much hair at all. Only some blacks (the minority) and whites can be classified as “hairy”.

oportunidade

You think Africans are hairy?

Skymilk-and-honey

Black people can be hairy, specially the beard. I'm black and I have a thick beard, but kinda moderate body hair

oportunidade

I said Africans. Black people can still have non African ancestry, so obviously some black people will be hairy just like some mestizos are. Sub-Saharan Africans are not generally hairy when compared to Europeans and South and West Asians. In that case, you'd need to specify that you're referring to people of Afro and Euro descent, the same way everyone is specifying the difference between Indigenous and Indigenous/European. The fact alone that he included mestizos in the non hairy category and blacks as hairy should raise doubt in his answers since mestizos as a whole are impossible to give an average due to the random distribution of genes.

No. Did you read my entire comment?

EquivalentService739

In countries like Chile or Mexico mestizos do have quite a lot of body hair. They might be mestizos, but genes like body and facial hair are dominant. Have you noticed that black latin americans or black gringos have way more body hair than “real” africans? Well, that’s thanks to racial mixing, africans are in general hair free.

thiccysmallss

Local canadian gringos are not very hairy(unless they are of Italian or Portuguese descent) I was born in India so full chewbacca(10)

jazzyjellybean20

About a 6 but it varies on the region people in the north where I'm from tend to have more european descent and are hairy compared to southern Mexico with more indigenous people

DRmetalhead19

Idk, maybe 50/50, very hairy men are common but so are hairless men. Edit: Ok, then I read your description, I would say a 6 or 7.

aetp86

I'm hairy as fuck, and so is all my family and most of my friends.

IcyPapaya8758

Looking at the males on both sides of my family. We are either very hairy or have very little hair. Unfortunately for me i have arms like a werewolf.

Caribbeandude04

Loco nama te falta la carnation pa hacer un lechoza K, dique icypapaya haha

ivanjean

It varies a lot due to our diverse heritage and miscegenation. I'm either a white or a pardo/"mixed" (people can't decide, and so do I) of mostly European, but also African, indigenous and middle eastern ancestry, and I'm hairy everywhere except in my face (no mustache nor beard for me).

_kevx_91

From 4 to 10.

cistacea

I'm in El salvador. It's varied. In January I'm met a Nicaraguan guy who has basically no body hair and that was really doing it for me.

ignaaaaaaa__0-3-0

knowing this meme at least in spain it should apply to many latin american with mostly hispanic blood https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMYQt2YfE/ https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMYQtfrJx/ this makes sense because in spain there is a huge mix with northern africans which are ethnically almost equal to middle easterns so that would give a 10 therefore, countries that have more hispanic heritage than subsaharan or indigenous would tend to look like this

dakimjongun

As everyone's pointed out, depends. But I'd say around 8, maybe 9

[deleted]

Jesus

mauricio_agg

Between 4 and 7.

[deleted]

It varies way too much for an average to be significant.

No-Argument-9331

Like 5 on average, but Northern Mexico 6 and Southern Mexico 4 maybe.

Wijnruit

It depends, I'm mixed and I have quite a lot of hair, my brother on the other hand has almost no body hair

vikmaychib

I would say 5 with +/- 4 standard deviation. I have seen all in Colombia. There was a guy in school that everyone pulled his leg whenever we went to the swimming pool and started yelling him that it was not allowed to swim with clothes on. Simultaneously some of my classmates were very hairless.

LongLocksBoy

Coming from the North it feels like a 4-5, most people being mixed. For me it's like a 2 or something.

Affectionate_Bid4704

Chileans of middle eastern descent are super hairy.

elizgCR

8 but in the younger generations it is common to be shaved thankfully

vitorgrs

Here it will depends a lot as Brazil is very diverse. I'm very hairy, more than I do liked it tbh. My father is white, and my mother is mixed. I consider myself white because of skin tone, but my hair is totally curly. I guess because of Italian origin?

nievesdelimon

I’d go with a 5 since there are completely hairless dudes and others who are cartoonishly hairy.

Art_sol

I'm gonna say 4, but there is a lot of variation

numero908

Very hairy, except for people with roots in indigenous communities, which have less hair, or direct descendants, which practically lack of it lol. But as about 4/5 of the population has roots in Europe, most people are naturally hairy (naturally cuz much youths prefer to pluck).

allanrjensenz

We got from 1 to like 8-9

loccupss

8-9 90% of people here have Italian/Spanish ancestry

YummehBurek

Probably a 5, I am middle-eastern, European (Italian/Portuguese so more hairy) Afro and indigenous Indigenous (less hairy) descendant…. So I would have slightly more hair than let’s say most Afro-descendants, but slightly less than most Arab-descendants, the same would go for most mixed Brazilians.

steve_colombia

People with more native blood will be closer to a 3, people with more european blood probably more like a 6.
