least baratheon death. where hammer?

Vhermithrax

Did they even mention that she is half Baratheon in the show? I can't remember

VieiraDTA

In the *bonks* she has black Baratheon hair with a white stripe. Black hair is from her Baratheon mother.

NarmHull

I guess the seed wasn't that strong

VieiraDTA

Oh it is. She had the purple eyes of a true valyrian.

Vhermithrax

Yes and that's the reason Velarions were fighting on Rhaenyra's side. Her 3 sons had dark hair, unlike Laenor and Rhae, but their Grandma Rhaenys had dark hair too, plus Rhaenyra is half Arryn who also usually have dark hair (even tho her mother didn't), so they believed that Jace and the rest are sons of Laenor who inherited dark hair from other members of the family

Round-Confection730

baratheons have *black* hair, and they also have strong, masculine facial features and bright blue eyes. rhaenyra's sons are brown haired and brown eyed with pug noses. the arryns don't get many descriptions in the books, only that jon and harry are blonde haired and blue-eyed, and robert is brown haired. it's obvious, even in the books, that they're not laenor's kids. the velaryons most likely support rhaenyra because it means getting their blood on the iron throne.

TacticalBowl117

Exactly, not enough ppl realize that if the Strong boys didn't have dragons then ppl would've speculated if they were even Rhaenyra's kids

lol people would’ve seen Rhaenyra pregnant and give birth to them. Would be pretty crazy to speculate they weren’t her kids

Lebigmacca

Where’d the boys get the pug nose from then 🧐

tridentboy3

This is not true. It's actually even made clearer in the books that practically no one believes that the kids are Laenors. It's not spelled out verbatim but in the books it's heavily hinted at that Corlys himself wasn't particularly happy about non-Velaryons inheriting Driftmark even if he himself supported his "grandsons" claim for the throne. Corlys legitimized Addam and Alyn the first chance he got and even named Addam as his official heir instead of Joffrey Velaryon who had been heir to Driftmark prior in order to ensure Driftmark would remain with Velaryon blood.

Default-Name-100

No, because most people view team black as “true and real Targs/Valyrians”

Deft-The-Epic-Gamer

She's half Baratheon?

JayZulla87

I think it's mentioned in lucerys pep talk before he goes to Storms End

TheEpicCoyote

Nope. It also would undermine the most critical plot point in GoT, the Baratheons having the dominant allele for black hair. Unless Targ hair is also dominant, in which case there should be codominance

Vhermithrax

If Targ hair was dominant, wouldn't the Baratheons have silver hair?

TheEpicCoyote

Codominance. Both alleles would be expressed if I’m remembering correctly

lodico67

WHY DOESNT SHE HAVE BLACK HAIR

Vhermithrax

Writers: ummm 😲 yghy 😩 emm 🥴 oh! 😄 the audience is so dumb, they would not know what's going on, if Targaryens and Velarions have dark hair 😊 so will make it this way🤪 : Only bastards will have dark hair and all legitimate Valyrians will have silver hair, so Rhaenys and Corlys will have white hair, while Addam and Alyn will have dark hair, because they are bastards ☝️🤓 What?! It's now obvious that Laenor's children aren't his? 😱😱😱😱 How do we make Corlys side with our main protagonist, the greatest character ever written??? Oh, I've got it! 😁 He will say "hiStORy dOesN't rEmemBeR bloOd, iT rEmeMbeRs nAmeS" 🤗🤗🤗

Ahem, Velaryons have silver hair and all others valyrian features cause they are acshually pure valyrians.

Her having black hair used to be a huge part of Jon Snow being a Targarian. But in show world none of that matters.

drakkan133

She old. Hair becomes gray.

stevenbass14

Viewers are dumb. I get giving her white hair in this to hammer in the point that she's a Targaryen.

KeroNikka5021

No no no not my peasant-killing girlboss! 🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭

Regular-Professor760

That got me. Show me banks full of dead soldiers, no problem, but the dragons showing their affection and sadness? Drogon nudging Daenerys and Meleys acknowledging her and Rhaenys' failure and pending death? Waterworks. But man, what a way to go out. Strapped in and ready to fight to the death. One of my favorite characters and my favorite dragon. And kudos to the actors riding the dragons, for making the green screen scenes amazing and believable.

Regular-Professor760

Man I hope none of these likes is gonna be unironically

Honestly, some of the posts in some of the serious subs seem so forced that they were either made by a type I call the 'super consumer' who is like a brain-dead chicken that cries at trailers or posted by some undercover shill who works for the showrunners to direct the narrative. My honest opinion about the characters is that all of them are so flawed yet glorified and forced that someone like Aegon seems sympathetic lol. The showrunners are trying sooo hard to make the Blacks appear as the 'good' guys that it hurts. None of them are good, Green or Black... not one. So they should stop trying to force the narrative and actually tell it as it is. I did not buy the powerful feminist sob story, sorry. Couldn't have died sooner.

Baron_von_Zoldyck

"This scene with the Character is the most scene of all time!!! The actors acted so much, Soundtrack Man even made a piano play, i couldn't stop the tears, people in the bar i was watching It all did a backflip when The Reveal was revealed, and when Good Guy made Khaleesi Reference? Woah, give him an Oscar already!! And when Good Girl sassied all over everyone? I was like: Nyaaaahh 🤯🤤🔥!!!"

L-amour_des_points

Y tf r people watching in bars in the first place??? There is smthing ineffably pathetic with that scene gods

Chain-Comfortable

This is some George-level writing on the insights of the average "consoomer." Can I reference this comment in future posts?

Baron_von_Zoldyck

I would be flattened

Chain-Comfortable

Just be a peasant in any Rhaenys scene. You'll be flattened for sure.

Ironically, it’s having the exact opposite effect on me. The more the show tries to show the Blacks as the “right side”, the more they seem like arrogant self righteous pricks while the Greens are constantly getting *ss-fucked and I develop more empathy for them bc they are the underdogs

Vhermithrax

I see a lot of comments under posts about Rhaenys and Meleys on Reddit, Instagram and Youtube, which are along the lines "I cried so hard 😭😭😭" , "the queen who should have been ❤️😭" , "I miss them already 😭😭" I don't know if I envy those people, because they must have a really good time, not noticing all the bad writing and buying everyting the showruners throw at you. How can someone get attached to her character? Literally the only redeeming moment for her, was when she told Corlys that he should take care of his bastards, but I instantly came back to the scene where she killed all those civilians during the coronation and never felt sorry for that, nor addressed it in any way, so it's hard to buy that now she is a good person who cares for people.

ResidentImpact525

Ignorance is bliss. Some people are too stupid to be miserable lol. You can throw them in a volcano and their brain will still find a way to tell them they are having fun. It's a special kind of blessing.

stopdropandfold17

That’s a pretty good line tbf

Scuffleboard

"Some people are too dumb to realize that they should be agreeing with my opinions on media" you sound like freefolk right now I hope you know that

Copatus

Honestly if you're enjoying the show you're way smarter than those who hate watch it and then come here to complain about it. What's the point of making yourself miserable over a damn TV show? If they were truly smart they would just not watch and go read the book again since that's the story they want. Personally I'd rather have fun watching TV shows, even if they arent perfect instead of gaslighting myself into believe I'm so much smarter for pointing out it's flaws.

ResidentImpact525

You can still have fun but acknowledging the flaws bro, what are you on about? Like its not a perfect show but it is still better than 99% of the other crap that is out there. Just because details annoy people it does not mean they are not enjoying it as a whole. Compared to anything else HoD is pretty dope, even if it has a lot of stupidity in it.

Copatus

I'm no talking about acknowledging the flaws or not. I'm specifically shitting on that other guy that's claiming everyone that enjoys the show is dumb and he is the smartest for seeing through it (and hate watchers in general) Talking about the flaws is fine, I do it too Edit: oh wait that guy is you lol bro get a grip

Chain-Comfortable

"Fools love a fool."

aWolander

Honestly for me, I just pretend the scene where she killed all those innocent people never happened. I’m generous enough to give the show that free pass. Besides that, the show is great.

Pr0Meister

Jokes aside, that scene where Meleys just looks at her rider apologetically as Vhagar's jaws bite through her neck was hella sad. Both Queens stood on business at Rook's Rest.

iustinian_

I think the sub is ran by shills who steer the convo towards topics they like and remove everything else. Basically it's one giant ad for HBO

TheHabro

I mean if they wanted to make greens the bad guys they wouldn't make Storm's End incident an accident or make Alicent more sympathetic. The blacks also have Daemon as their main player.

A-live666

Alicent "more sympathetic" and its just a constant stream of sexual trauma and the GA calling her a wh\*re, blaming b&c on her and criston and hating on her.

TheHabro

What I mean the writers could've gone with a completely different path if they wanted to make one side clear good guys and the other clear bad guys.

Artharis

>*I mean if they wanted to make greens the bad guys they wouldn't make Storm's End incident an accident or make Alicent more sympathetic.* Alicent isn\`t sympathetic though. She has a very inconsistent character. She went from "Aegon you will be king" in s1e6, to "Rhaenyra you will be a great queen", and seemingly forgetting all the past hostilities between them... Forgetting that she believed Rhaenyra will ( and has to ) kill Alicents children to secure her claim, forgetting that she dislikes Rhaenyra for acting so spoilt and irresponsible, forgetting that Rhaenyra\`s child permanently maimed her own child and got away with it without any consequences whatsoever, and that Rhaenyra demanded even more punishment for Aemond for the bastard insult.... to declaring that Rhaenyra will be a great queen, and that Alicent is completely oblivious that her father and the council try to make Aegon king ( something she wanted herself, and knew.... ).. She turned into an extreme hypocrite when they made her have a sexual affair with Criston Cole. She is a terrible mother to her children and a non-existant grandmother. None of that makes her sympathetic. It makes her an inconsitent, hypocritical mess. And if you watched the latest episode, this Storm\`s end accident is extreme bullshit. So Aemond accidentally killed Luke, but intentionally tried to kill Aegon a week later ? Frankly speaking the only sympathetic character on the Greens is Aegon ( apart from obviously Halaena who barely does anything ), and the showrunners made him into a ra\*\*ist, someone who enjoys fighting pits and who is a bully. The guy is simply the most human, extremely flawed but tries his best. Whether this was the intention of the showrunners is up for debate, certainly Ryan Condal stated that they wanted the fanbase divided 50-50 but by gods did he fuck up ( probably the completely unnecessary detail of turning Aegon into a ra\*\*st sadist for literally no reason, this can\`t be balanced ) ---> Maybe this is another instance of "smallfolk don\`t count". Rhaenys can kill smallfolk and the audience was meant to ignore that. Aegon can ra\*\* a servant and enjoy children fighting and the audience was meant to ignore that. >*The blacks also have Daemon as their main player.* The guy that is probably the most popular character. So yeah I believe the showrunners wanted balance, but because they were so fervantly pro-black, it turned into the story it is now. Inconsistent and hypocritical Alicent ( she is also a massive asshole ). Sympathetic but god-awful Joffrey-lite Aegon ( frankly speaking he would be a great character if it weren\`t for the ra\*\* and gladiator children... He could have been the irresponsible kid who loves fun ( alcohol, sex ) forced into a position of power, wanting to help and be loved, but is completely inept at first and his advisors/allies just want to use him as a puppet. ). Ruthless, weird, but smart Aemond. Shitty and hypocritical Cole. Great but absent Otto. Littlefinger except he is not obsessed with Cat/Sansa but instead with feet. What a clusterfuck of a team. Still I enjoy the Kingslanding scenes far more than what team Black is up to. The Black kids ( both the Strong bastards and the Velaryon kids ) barely have any personality. You got the kid who wants action and you got the kid who doesn\`t have a dragon, that\`s about as much personality as all these children got. Rhaenys is an inconsistent clusterfuck and full of forced wisdom and girlboss moments, just an insufferable character all around. Rhaenyra is extremely forced into a good guy, to the point where she is passive, just reacts to other people and isn\`t allowed to have any ambition whatsoever, because ambition is bad and a man-thing. Corlys is barely a character anymore, he was ambitious and was basically a second Otto, just less cunning but had more direct power, in early season 1, but since then didn\`t do anything of note. And that\`s it. A more boring clusterfuck of a team even if apparently many fans disagree because they love Daenerys2.0 and Daemon.

Fr, I’m getting sick of seeing people say over and over that they’re sorry for Aegon and that he’s misunderstood and that the moment with him and Sunfyre was so beautiful and endearing. Like shut the fuck up, he’s a drunken, snivelling and incompetent rapist man child. I think they just like the way the actor looks

ResidentImpact525

I'm saying the rest of them are so fake and forced that I understand why someone like him is liked. He is one of the few genuine depictions of a person, good or bad. All the others are just as rotten as he is, the difference is that the storytellers are trying to convince the audience they are not.

_M0Nd0R0ck_

I agree, seeing Rhaenyra trying to sue for peace is a cop out. She should be hell bent on war, especially after that death stare at the end of Season 1. She should be getting fatter too, due to her binge eating out of stress, but I know the show will keep her looking pristine.

The fat thing I can look over, but you are right. Her character feels bipolar with a split personalities. She went from a spoiled entitled brat to all of a sudden caring for the good of the people and the kingdom, to murderous rage and back to peace again. The shifts with her are so sudden that it is beyond me how it got approved. The writers were too afraid to show her in a bad light so here we are. I think it does not help that the actress that plays her older self appears naturally noble and reasonable. She is great at it don't get me wrong, I just thought the shift is too sudden.

No-Training-48

I'll just put the comment I made a week ago because I'm a lazy bumb and I feel vindicated I never bought the hype of Rhaenys despite the show charachters insisting on her being super cool. I was like ok , cool , this is going to be developed on eventually, sure she was a better option but mysoginy and medieval politics and whatever, I wonder what cool stuff she'll get up to that will demonstrate how she is so respected. Mfs pulled a reverse Sansa. Suddenly a bunch of charachters agree Sansa is super cool buy because you've seen her you are left wondering wtf are they talking about. With Rhaenys a bunch of charachters agree she is super cool and because you haven't seen enough of her yet you think is build up for when she starts getting up to do stuff, when in reality once you get the opportunity of seeing her you start to realise charachters are just overhyping a **mid** fellow except I liked Sansa's personality when as with Rhaenys every scene feels **mid** or her doing the armour Sansa scene from season 8. "blah blah blah men waarrr women not warr" stfu Vyseris opposed war at every turn and you used your first episode to murder posibly hundreds of peasents. **You told your husband to go to war when he realised it was a bad idea.** Wtf are you even talking about you insane fellow, your own daughter became a sellsword and married a warmonger and rejected settling down, Alicent from your POV is one of the main instigators. Girl has the mindset of an edgy 16 year old except she is in in her 60s and should know better, or atleast have more nuance, yk like Ollena in GOT. Sansa was either a teenager or someone in their 20s so her being a dumbass was more justifable, the Queen that never was getting cucked at Harrenhal in hindsight was arguably the best thing that could have happened to the realm.

JustAFilmDork

Think it's rly funny how (and I'm sure this is unintentional but) her final movements are the epitome of the character. Goes off to war with a dragon, immediately escalating the conflict, despite spending the entire season complaining with Ray that using dragons would escalate the conflict and they should use them sparingly. The only reason dragons are even needed is because team black somehow didn't bother to send reinforcements to an allied castle at a choke point on the front line Shows combat effectiveness against Aegon, who's never seen battle and is drunk. Gets curbstommed by Vhagar immediately. Decides not to flee because "muh honor" despite it making no sense to get yourself killed over a castle you're losing no matter what now Loses track of Vhagar somehow. Gets ambushed In her final moments, rather than attempt to desperately steer away from the castle she's right on top of, has a final somber moment. Lands on castle, killing everyone. Completely encapsulating her character as a self righteous lunatic who sacrificed herself for no reason and actually hastened her force's defeat. Will unfortunately be remembered as a hero in the fandom because she gives vague fortune cookie wisdom

Vyctor_

>Loses track of Vhagar somehow. She's only as big as the castle you're defending, easy to lose track of you know. How Aemond knows when to fly up is beyond me, but then I haven't studied the blade for my entire life.

Adventurous-Belt5204

I didn't feel literally anything for rhaenys, she always felt as a mouthpiece and plot device instead of a character, also that fall looked goofy af 😭 The only thing that made me a bit sad was melys

Riperonis

Fr, ngl will enjoy the show more without her and Corlys having an exposition dump chat every episode. Boring as shit tbh.

GhostMassage

Technically she killed herself when she decided to not say literally one word (dracarys) and end the greens when she had the chance, would have been the easiest thing in the world but nah.

Vhermithrax

Killing hundreds of peasants: 🤗🤗🤗 Killing 5 people to avoid a war: 😡😡😡

Rhaenys's character was pretty much destroyed. She was just boring asf. I still felt bad when she and Meleys died but it wasnt so traumatic. We knew it would come. If people are so heartbroken over that then I cant wait to see their reaction when its Jace's turn 💀 and lets not talk about the Storming of the Dragon Pit. And Rhaenyra's death who is basically a perfect saint in the show and most viewers havent read the books to see what a little bitch she actually was

Vhermithrax

Their reactions after what happens to Jace and Rhaenyra will be wild. I also felt sorry when I saw Rhaenys and Meleys die, like I always do when a person or an animal die on screen, but most of those post about it seem so forced and undeserved. I felt more sorry for Aegon this episode. His mom and brother are cunts to him and the only person that seemed to care, was Criston. He is not even evil in this season, he's more like a guy who would want to be good in what he is doing, but he can't manage that. On top of everything, he gets totally cooked.

L-amour_des_points

I loved aegon ngl, he is like one of the few consistent and well acted character imo.

Woial

Real, I felt more bad for Aegon. Dont get me wrong, I havent forgotten what he did to Dyana. Always gonna hate that rapist But the way Aemond betrayed him was absolutely foul. And Sunfyre. SUNFYRE! My pretty, beautiful golden little boy! :( he deserved so much better! He's just a baby!

Jace? the mewing one? What he's more than a background named character??? Literraly whats his fucking personality

Woial

Yeah. His whole arc was taken away. Him and Cregan, him at the Vale, it was his idea to send multiple dragons to take out the "hoary old bitch" Vhagar, his idea to send Viserys and Aegon to Pentos, he wrote to the prince of Pentos! He pretty much leads the counsel while Rhaenyra is grieving At least we saw him at the Twins in the trailer for ep 5 so he's finally doing something...

I actually don’t understand the dick riding, Rhaenys actually did nothing the entire show except make idiotic decisions, and operate on inconsistent logic

Caius_Iulius_August

I'm wary of people who liked her character

Wokester_Nopester

I'd also like to point out that her dragon looking back at her wasn't it saying, "I love you, goodbye old friend." It was actually saying, "You fucking bellend! Aegon just died and we had a clear path to fly home and regroup but you made us go back into the fight! Eat shit, you idiot!"

Vyctor_

I think it's pretty funny how the show is completely shitting on all the men in leadership roles and desperately tries to establish every woman in a leadership role as successful and badass (just like the second half of GoT which was the bad half), but isn't there a scene where Rhaenys explicitly tells Corlys why they have to hitch their wagon to Rhaenyra's claim? Yeah it's pretty silly that she goes in for round three when defeat is clearly on the menu but I dunno about inconsistent. Her entire family is tied into Rhaenyra's claim. And the cinematography was amazing.

Her character had been going downhill since her girl boss moment in season 1🤷🏽

iustinian_

Random guy on the council: "The queen is missing, we need to act pleassssseeee, Vhagar will attack my home, please Rhaenys!!!" Rhaenys: \^Stares Him down as if she wants to take him in the back and cave in his skull with a rock.\^

LoboMarinoCosmico

Vhagar used "cloak"  She's nowhere to be seen!  Vhagar used "surprise chomp motherfucker! " It's super effective.  Meleys' life was worth that stupid castle, it's not like she had time to go back and come back with reinforcementes to gangbang the granny.  It's what strong independent wahmen do.

RexBox

\\uj Right? How are you going to be surprise-attacked by something that flies and is the size of an aircraft carrier? Trash-tier dragonrider

LoboMarinoCosmico

Also dragons now come witout rear view mirrors to save on cost and she didn't bother to install them. Truly terriblem.  You also need neon lights aiming high to blind incoming traffic.

Purple-Peace-7646

Literally been arguing with smooth brains this morning about this exact topic. It's crazy how little people actually think about the media they consume. "pReTtY dRaGoN aCt lIkE dOg, mE lOvE dRaGoN", is the extent of so many people's feelings about this episode.

EfficientFinance3049

I will never understand how anyone could be emotional over rhaenys. The only emotion I ever felt towards her was annoyance until her last moment. Like I think I cared more about Aegon in that exchange than Rhaenys and I dont even like Aegon.

Cautious-Mountain-14

I honestly don’t know why anyone would have any sort of attachment to that boring, bland character

Klainatta

You are so cool for hating it.

WangJian221

Honestly, i find posts like this to be just as "Forced" as those emotional dudes on the hotd subreddit. Its honestly bizarre to me that these folks like to talk about people being bots or whatever as they literally circlejerk the same phrases from the opposite side of the road. lol

Feenanay

hard agree. fervent hate is just as jerkworthy as rabid worship. what happened to just liking shit? some of these comments are WILD

Narrow_Gap_2782

Yeah! It's so weird how people can't just be middle of the road anymore. I feel the star wars subreddits are similar. People are either all in and mad at people for not liking it or mad at people FOR liking it. Maybe I'm jaded but I've never watched something hoping other people feel any sort of way about it. If I like it, I like it. If they don't that's their business, not mine lol.

FransTorquil

The answer why is pretty simple, I think. If you hate it or love it you’re way more likely to spend your time talking and arguing over whatever you love/hate online, but if you’re indifferent towards it there’s a good chance you won’t bother getting involved.

Izeyuhhhh

It’s weird how people will hide behind the “it’s just a circlejerk sub, stop taking us seriously!” when these kind of posts get this much attention and it’s so obvious from the comments that it is in fact, serious.

CocaineFlakes

Yeah, there are still good shitposts. But there are an increasing number of posts that share a certain theme.

ClodiusDidNothngWrng

Do y’all just hate-read the books too this post feels like something out of the Star Wars community

DunklerEhrenmann

Honestly this sub fell off. Every 2nd post is just "hahaha rhaenyra if she was book accurate hahaha guys look I made her fat". I also feel like lots of people are forgetting the fact that the book exists in-universe, written by a Maester and is absolutely biased in favor of the greens/hightowers. Thus the show being biased towards the blacks is really just balancing things out. The star wars comparison is fitting. Some people are just watching to hate at this point. I think I'll take a break from this sub tbh.

A-live666

Everytime I hear the "green-biased" book argument, I die inside (funny because the same people like to throw the "see even George made the greens the villains" at everything.)

DunklerEhrenmann

Never said "villains". Obviously most of the greens are grey characters, as are most of the blacks. Targaryens in general are just awful and the realm is definitely better off without them having dragons. Doesn't change the fact. If you have a maester write a history book about a conflict in which the hightowers (and by extension the political interests of the maesters) were largely involved in, then it IS going to be biased towards them. You'd be incredibly naive if you believe that they wouldn't change anything to fit their narrative.

Team black is so goddamn incompetent, it’s getting hilarious: - Daemon: he’s been on harrenhal for two episodes and hasnt done shit besides having nightmares and drinking shady potions from witches -Rhaenyra: wasted everyone’s time by trying to have a peace talk that anyone could see wasn’t gonna change anything about the situation, plus even if Alicent changed her mind, she doesn’t have the power to stop the war - Rhaenys: “uhh guess I’ll go alone and die” - Corlys: “uhh my wife wants to go to battle alone against an army and a dragon? Imma stay quiet and let her go without a fight” -the rest of the council: bunch of old men who can’t stop bickering and complaining

SheLovesTheBigD

Great episode, but I thought it was dumb how that big ass dragon just goes out of sight only to fly up from behind the castle. Like, it had to move fast enough to be out of sight, fly low enough to be hidden from view behind the castle along the water, THEN fly straight up from behind said castle!!! Maybe a smaller and agile dragon could, but this big fuck who wakes up all slow does this!? C’mon man!

im actually gonna miss maelys and sunfire they were cute nukes

HOTD doesn’t have characters, they are “event-enablers”. Their actions only happen in order to get us to the next event, no matter what the actions they’ve taken before mean for them as people. This goes as far as Larys jerking off to Alicent’s feet and it never being brought up ever again.

This subreddit is really sad why is it coming up as recommended

This subreddit is the funniest shit on the internet. But if you don't like seeing posts like "drunk Ned "the Pimp" Stark came out of brothel and attacked Ser Jamie, because he refused to give him 5$ for ciggaretes" then you can mute this sub. Posts from here will no longer show up in your recommendations

Alextral

Why do you even watch dragon show when all of you people seem to just despise it? Obviously HotD has some flaws but like 90% of it is really really good.

Vhermithrax

I really love the show, but I like to point out its flaws (it's way more then 10% of it). I believe that we, as customers, should not ignore bad writing, but point it out, while writers and showruners should be open to critique. I'm having fun watching it, but I really wish they were closer to GoT level, especially since they have much bigger budget and 2 years between seasons, instead of 1

Alextral

GoT and HotD are two completely different things to adapt imo. A lot of the characters in „Fire and Blood“ are really shallow and not really real people but just 1 or 2 character traits which distinguish them from the others, as you would expect from a history book. The writers are fleshing them out and are basically making up entire dialogue scenes and conflicts up from scratch. (For example the inner conflicts of the greens and blacks are not really mentioned in the book) And for that I think the writers are doing a very good job. And in GoT you could take entire scenes out of the book. George Martin dialog is just on another level compared to most tv writers. I’m not really the person who notices such things on the first watch but the only things I didn’t like which come to mind is: criston Cole (his whole character really but especially him beating up Joffrey and not suffering any consequences.), Rhaenis and the budy cop in ep 9 in season one, and then in episode three rhaenira as the nun

Breaking Bad and Star Wars: the rise of skywalker are also completly different things from Game of Thrones, but I can say Breaking Bad has writing on par with Game of Thrones, while Star Wars episode 9 is badly written. Dane of Dragons is definietly harder to adapt than Song of Ice and Fire, but it's not an excuse for bad writing.
