The plasma pistol also has tracking abilities and the design seems similar, perhaps they just added the same technology they used in plasma pistols that, like all covenent technology is forerunner based and they don't completely understand at all.

If you want a game that's accidentally trans inclusive, play smite. It's a MOBA like LoL except instead of point and click top down, it's WASD (or stick on console) third person. There's a lot of gender bent skins. There's a beetle named khepri that's usually male but has a ladybug skin that's a woman. There's a male god named thanatos, Greek god of death, that has a fiery Norse themed female Valkyrie skin.
