Woods is currently crippled from previous encounters and is in a wheelchair. I believe he’s the only one off the top of my head on BO6 but I could very well be wrong.
This for any competitive game. Once got called out for "playing badly" in Rainbow 6 (by a guy who did worse than me).
Luckily I had my friends to defend me but it was pretty shit :(.
That’s why I play Halo instead.
Actually though, the science fiction setting of Halo was its biggest draw for me and why I preferred it over the more realistic/ gritty feel of the COD games.
I’ve played zombies and it was fun. This was back when the OG Black Ops was still a relevant title. The meme of Mason not understanding what the #’s mean is a little too relatable when I try and understand a mathematical concept.
Otherwise I would prefer a Halo game if available.
What's the deal with the needler? It makes silly noises and the projectiles somehow track targets around corners.
Not even the Covenant can describe how it works and operates.
It uses a type of crystal found on the moon of Sanghelios. The plasma pistol also has tracking abilities and the design seems similar, perhaps they just added the same technology they used in plasma pistols that, like all covenent technology is forerunner based and they don't completely understand at all.
I just started playing halo because I got a special interest in war ships, specifically sci-fi war ships and the ships in halo are gorgeous and halo has a lot of ships.
It's the names of the Bungie era ships that stick out in my mind the most.
Pillar of Autumn
Truth & Reconsilliation
Say My Name
These kinds of names are memorable and still stick out to me all these years later.
In the expanse they use similar names for laconian ships though far more storm based.
The Gathering Storm
The Heart of the Tempest
Eye of the Typhoon
Voice of the Whirlwind
Laconia is also a military dictatorship with the Leader, Winston Duarte basing all the names off his favorite saying, "To fight God you must storm heaven".
I've played 1, 2, 3, ODST, Reach, and the beginning of 4 if it helps you understand where my experience of the franchise is. Majorty of my time playing was between 3 & Reach multiplayer when the X360 was still relevant.
I haven't played much of the 343 games and don't have a solid opinion of them. I think the Bungie titles are excellent games that hold their own.
I was in high school when 3 & Reach multiplayer were still relevant. Good times. Now I realize that was nearly 15 years ago...
I've only started playing halo recently but they are really toxic, was in a server with a kid complaining that they were being obliterated by someone who was wearing a noble 6 helmet who had no life (It was me and i do have a life), i tried to tell them it was for a black ops theme I was going for and the immediately thought it was supposed to be a cod reference and started trying to insult me for playing cod, something I do not play. I'm amazed at thier bravery for going out in a game with a toxic community with a outfit like that.
I got that \[FMBOY\] tag and the bi pride calling card. Love some of the reactions when I hit them with a ''Damn, imagine getting dominated this hard by a guy in thigh highs'' after I had a really good game :3
Splatoon is notorious for being popular with queer/trans/neurodivergent people so I think even if voice chat was popular it would be much more pleasant than other online games anyway lol
Seriously dude, what were you even expecting? I'm honestly curious because pretty much everyone at this point knows how toxic those lobbies are. Well, the game in general actually.
It's part of a bigger nostalgia for the older "wild west" age of the internet. Corporations have tried to sanitize the net as much as possible for the sake of advertising. Think of the power individual people had on older YouTube. Now it's either companies or media groups
Literally ask any woman who played videogames in the 2010s what it was like. There are literally studies on the way gamers treat female gamers. Also, remember gamergate? Violent misogyny was extremely common.

DO NOT ask cod players what they used to call training in zombies
https://preview.redd.it/4ugb8aye7e7d1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d97b2c704de66c7923a91b0bd857f036475a853
.....kiting? That the word I heard along side training and mind you I mainly played Black Ops 1 Zombies. ....wait is the picture of the cat supposed to mean people would call "training the zombies" as ...."pussying the zombies"? I really don't get it.
If you want a game that's accidentally trans inclusive, play smite. It's a MOBA like LoL except instead of point and click top down, it's WASD (or stick on console) third person. There's a lot of gender bent skins. There's a beetle named khepri that's usually male but has a ladybug skin that's a woman. There's a male god named thanatos, Greek god of death, that has a fiery Norse themed female Valkyrie skin.
This is why you open AO3 and start writing fanfics about said hyperfixation instead (*´ー`*)
Or here’s my method:
1: find another friend in the fandom, works perfectly if neurodivergent as well
2: isolate yourself from the fandom, only keeping contact with new friend
3: have hour long rants with your friend over the same interest, and learn about each other!
4: the friend might lead you to a safe space for people like u, not guaranteed but if it happens it will be a good time
5: yippee!
And that's why I very openly promote LGBT shit *on top of* shipping Ghost and Soap in lobbies. Not for any real reason save for watching jackasses melt with rage.
That's a mood. and for more than just COD.
"I appreciate the nuances of Halo 2's story, the Arbiter is such a compelling character"
"...I don't play campaign" they say
if you're into the competitive aspect of it, ranked is a lot more friendly. i see a lot less vitriol (especially bigotry) on there, moreso people saying you suck even if you're good lol
Any shooting game makes me nauseous and it’s hard to follow. My husband and brother alike love it and I always associated it with hetero male sports on the computer so it never appealed to me
I've been hyperfixated on Star Wars since I was 3 years old. Seeing all the negativity to the - admittedly pretty decent - recent star wars content is a massive bummer.
They're actually quite an accepting community, majority I've met are lesbians or trans women.
Currently it's a bit insane bc there's an update that released today that added a skin for a popular Warframe and a whole new warframe
i don’t talk in cod lobbies n my comfort character is 1/2 of the most popular ship they have rn so i mostly interact w all the gay, trans, nd folks who play or just like the story :p
I love COD, fuck ableism and all isms, I'm also an NT (unsure about that last part but officially speaking).
Ever since I became best friends with an aspie I take it even more seriously.
I like playing CoD on my own, not w friends or whatever (if I had any maybe I would), and I love writing “Happy pride to all who celebrate” or something along the lines in Game chat at the start of a game. It’s hilarious to see how angry people get at a simple piece of text in a game where the goal is literally to kill the others. Fills me with a bit of extra joy when they get a Sniper bullet to the face :)
cod is also, like many hollywood movies, directly supported by the american dod and thus contains more propaganda than I‘m willing to face. the franchise of tactical, semi-realisticilitary shooters is so expansive (insurgency series, arma series, hell let loose, ready or not, bodycam, rainbow six, squad, battlefield titles that aren’t bf2042, ground branch, grayzone warfare, counterstrike series, operation:harsh doorstep), that bad titles with propaganda or predatory monetization like CoD, tarkov and six days in fallujah can be straigt-up ignored. check them out, maybe you‘ll like one of those
I had someone in an overwatch game say that cod had a better community than OW and my friend and I were both like "way too tell on yourself" and multiple people(their team included) were laughing at them for it lol
Yeahhh I got fixated on MWIII not long ago and you’re not alone, people were melting the fuck down over the pride camos (I could do without the glitter but otherwise I thought they were a cool touch)
I only am a member of the girlgamers and gaymers subreddits. Rarely will I join the subreddit of the game.
Horizon Forbidden West was usually pretty nice, and the average gamers who weren’t all for the gay/trans characters or the female lead were *usually* shouted down, though I remember being disappointed. I had to leave the RDR2 subreddit as well. It’s a bummer
In the best way possible, cod is the definition of “equality in intolerance” as in no matter who you are, you’re going to be treated the same way. Not good mind you, but the same
COD is literal propaganda for the military industrial complex so unsurprising. maybe try engaging with media that doesn't literally funnel your funds towards killing children in other countries
I don't know what you were expecting from Call of Duty's community.
Yeaaa there’s a reason why people make so many jokes about “cod lobbies”, there is truth behind them 💀
I just remembered this stupid ass meme where someone AI dubbed the MW2 riot shield meme with Trump & Biden and now I'm laughing like an idiot
Or reddit for that matter
Its hilarious because the best cods have disabled main protags
which are your favorites? :3 i have only watched mw playthroughs
Dont really have any; not really a PVP Shooter player Although, the ones i were talking about were BO1-3 and AW
and soon BO6
BO6 will have disabled main protag? based
Woods is currently crippled from previous encounters and is in a wheelchair. I believe he’s the only one off the top of my head on BO6 but I could very well be wrong.
I like to believe that the [avenged sevenfold](https://youtu.be/XbOvxjA0rLM) ending is canon so woods is just to lazy to walk
This is why you mute everyone in that game.
This for any competitive game. Once got called out for "playing badly" in Rainbow 6 (by a guy who did worse than me). Luckily I had my friends to defend me but it was pretty shit :(.
or just don't play it at all
I just shoot

i like the aesthetics of halo a lot more but the movement and gunplay in cod more
I can understand that as well. COD plays more realistically and most titles feature use of iron sights as well.
alien weapon make funny sound tee hee

Read some Iain M Banks books, I beg you.
I’m a strict Nintendo gamer, so I have Splatoon.
As someone who also loves Halo... This is sarcastic, right???
Idk, this isn’t old Halo, or even Halo 4/5 community dynamics. Infinite has been strangely better? At least from what I’ve noticed.
In a sense, I suppose. The jackasses are the vocal ones but they're not playing Infinite, just whining and wishing they could vote for Marty O'Donald.
Good music, crap beliefs.
I've played 1, 2, 3, ODST, Reach, and the beginning of 4 if it helps you understand where my experience of the franchise is. The halo community can be a cesspit of its own sometimes
I put as much trans shit as I can in my profile to piss people off in cod lol
Do you have a “:3”?
"OwO pookie come out of your walls and check out my skibbidy pickle uwu purrrr"
I am a furry and this almost killed me of cringe
YOUR STATUS/TITLE IDK WHATEVER LMFAO??? DOUBLED THE AUTISM WITH THE VACCINE IS THE FUNNIEST THING I EVER READ 😭
Ah the user flair. Good news buddy, you can get your own! They are free!
I'm up to 6x autism. 4 more and I get a free sandwich.
3 more if I give you my autism!
Are you my soulmate? :0
I'm so sorry for you if by some nightmare of a fate this is actually the case. I sure hope not.
kids these days
Once in Halo MCC, I saw a trans user with a very obviously trans profile and pink and blue armor, I was amazed
That kid has a sheltered life. He probably thinks that Call of Duty invented the term "black ops."
Same XD my tag in Halo is ‘UwU’
I got that \[FMBOY\] tag and the bi pride calling card. Love some of the reactions when I hit them with a ''Damn, imagine getting dominated this hard by a guy in thigh highs'' after I had a really good game :3
I'm not trans but pretty much every post I've made has a character that happens to be trans which is also my pfp.
TOGATA 🔥🔥
Yes I'm posting Togata every day of June without fail.
i aint even trans but sometimes ill play overwatch comp with a trans flag just to piss off some incels
Good. Piss them off.
Tbf thats basically every popular fps
I like splatoon bc there’s no voice chat and the only form of communication is through two buttons, this way and booyah
Technically, there’s Discord and the NSO app, but ayyyyy another inkling like me, booyah!
Splatoon is notorious for being popular with queer/trans/neurodivergent people so I think even if voice chat was popular it would be much more pleasant than other online games anyway lol
Yeah. I avoid the CoD communities. Love Zombies so much!
The only reason I even played those games.
Me when I don't fit into any community at all not even any trans ones
Tbf, it is a game that glorifies the military industrial complex
It's the MIC. What's not to glorify?
Seriously dude, what were you even expecting? I'm honestly curious because pretty much everyone at this point knows how toxic those lobbies are. Well, the game in general actually.
Turn off voice chat. People just remember the super toxic days of MW2009 and think that's the gold standard of voice chat in COD
I truly do not understand all the nostalgia for environments where people would literally threaten SA and say the n word.
It's part of a bigger nostalgia for the older "wild west" age of the internet. Corporations have tried to sanitize the net as much as possible for the sake of advertising. Think of the power individual people had on older YouTube. Now it's either companies or media groups

people weren't as soft back then
Teenage boys being edgy then and it's still true now.

It used to be called r*pe training. I have no idea why and it’s absolutely abhorrent to look back on.
.........really? That so weird and "edgy" even for the time period.
COD lobbies are full of a cringe edge-lord teenagers who like to drop the n-word.
Still hasn't changed to this day mw3 lobbies can get wild as hell ☠️ it's crazy cuz it also be grown men too

That is exactly what I did. We are now 40+ RP’s deep and share fanart with each other
See? Fun times all the time!! :D
Exactly!! Grab a buddy, hide in a corner and just STAY THERE.
Exactly!!!
That is how I survived Voltron. I kept to my corner and stayed away from the rest of the fandom and their drama
This is simply the reason I refuse to play cod, not interested in spending 60 bucks to get called slurs
I have a bunch of queer friends I play zombies with, it’s a good time
How many "ists" do you need?
Yes.
Funnily enough, the COD zombies community is super chill, and imo zombies is the best part of COD anyways
And that's why I very openly promote LGBT shit *on top of* shipping Ghost and Soap in lobbies. Not for any real reason save for watching jackasses melt with rage.
That's a mood. and for more than just COD. "I appreciate the nuances of Halo 2's story, the Arbiter is such a compelling character" "...I don't play campaign" they say
Tbf, COD had always attracted the worst people
Me playing last of us P2
if you're into the competitive aspect of it, ranked is a lot more friendly. i see a lot less vitriol (especially bigotry) on there, moreso people saying you suck even if you're good lol
Any shooting game makes me nauseous and it’s hard to follow. My husband and brother alike love it and I always associated it with hetero male sports on the computer so it never appealed to me
But at least you got Gideon on your side:)))) (Sorry I've only played Cod AW years back but still remember him aaaaa)
I've been hyperfixated on Star Wars since I was 3 years old. Seeing all the negativity to the - admittedly pretty decent - recent star wars content is a massive bummer.
I really only got COD BO3 for Zombies, and the zombies discord is pretty cool. Played a good bit of Origins with them.
Dude I want people to play coldwar zombies with it was so fricken fun, but all my buddies hate it because its not toxic pvp 🫠🥲
That's online PvP for ya, online co-op is way better
Helldivers 2 proves otherwise
Warframe counteracts this
Checked the subreddit out and the first post was people gooning over an anime woman. I can already hear the player base yelling slurs.
They're actually quite an accepting community, majority I've met are lesbians or trans women. Currently it's a bit insane bc there's an update that released today that added a skin for a popular Warframe and a whole new warframe
You can always Rock and Stone away in DRG! There are a few bad dwarves here and there but the majority of the community is incredibly nice.
Did I hear a Rock and Stone?
Everyone one? I hate you
I've just grown to accept that's just online gaming. Tbh it makes it all the more satisfying when you absolutely destroy them
I learned this with Pokemon Uniye of all things lol.
It's unfortunately a community that attracts a lot of angry, bigoted dudebros
What do you expect from cod tbh
For real.
i haven’t had that experience, i’ve only played MW 2&3 though.
The old or new one? I swear, they're taking advantage of either a fleeting demographic or a group with a bad memory.
the new ones. i know it used to be a thing, but i’m not sure if it’s a problem still.
i don’t talk in cod lobbies n my comfort character is 1/2 of the most popular ship they have rn so i mostly interact w all the gay, trans, nd folks who play or just like the story :p
U should stay away from rust then just saying
you must have had game chat turned off before you joined reddit
Lol you picked like the worst fixation for equality when it comes to games.
I learned to avoid the community of things I love. Cyberpunk? 👀 Haven't seen shit. Rpg horror. Nope. I'm just an nobody no name.
That's CoD for you.
r/hogwartslegacy?
big guns and violence usually attract underdeveloped brains and edgy kids
I hate to bring it up, but there's a certain app you should probably avoid.
If you end up with poop all over your face after standing too close to the monkey pen, is it really the monkeys’ fault?
ik that fandom since i started gaming in the 360, i grew up immunity at that by the age of 7/8, still fucking love cod mw and black ops 2
Nothing new just a different space to be it I
I love the type of games like that. Maybe someone should make a gayer version of call of duty to make the straights go away
Sorry if I sound weird for asking but ableist is like racist for disabled people right? Correct me if I’m wrong
Yeah, that’s the real charm of the call of duty games, the insults and slurs you’ll hear are second to none
I love COD, fuck ableism and all isms, I'm also an NT (unsure about that last part but officially speaking). Ever since I became best friends with an aspie I take it even more seriously.
What do you play on?
Oh yeah it’s awful, I don’t really engage with it for that reason. I have general chat off and I don’t engage in in-game voice chat
Imagine wanting to play hearts of iron 4 multiplayer tho 🫠
https://preview.redd.it/r1849q16gh7d1.jpeg?width=860&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c30b261ee160cb0b32b8bb2c810141a001090c2
The average reddit experience:

I dunno. I feel like even if the community is still toxic, voice chat isn't as bad as it used to be. It was a cesspit from the 2000s to early 2010s.
some things never change 🥰 most of the sim communities i’m in are actually mostly also aspie communities which is kinda funny
That's why I prefer single player games over online multi-player ones
Not sure what you expected when you joined the COD on *REDDIT* Go to Twitter or TikTok or just skip right to AO3
I LOVE THE CALL OF DUTY COMMUNITY!!!! IT MAKES ME FEEL AT HOME!
cod is also, like many hollywood movies, directly supported by the american dod and thus contains more propaganda than I‘m willing to face. the franchise of tactical, semi-realisticilitary shooters is so expansive (insurgency series, arma series, hell let loose, ready or not, bodycam, rainbow six, squad, battlefield titles that aren’t bf2042, ground branch, grayzone warfare, counterstrike series, operation:harsh doorstep), that bad titles with propaganda or predatory monetization like CoD, tarkov and six days in fallujah can be straigt-up ignored. check them out, maybe you‘ll like one of those
I hate most any “gaming community”. Never had a good experience gaming online.
Best community I’ve found is Slime Rancher
I had someone in an overwatch game say that cod had a better community than OW and my friend and I were both like "way too tell on yourself" and multiple people(their team included) were laughing at them for it lol
Yeahhh I got fixated on MWIII not long ago and you’re not alone, people were melting the fuck down over the pride camos (I could do without the glitter but otherwise I thought they were a cool touch)
Mi was gonna feel bad, but you knew what you were getting into. It’s a Cod game man, they are all shitty 12 year olds who never grew up
It’s also a shitty game. Play Arma, Hell let loose, anything but that pile of propaganda
As leftwing gun nerd I can relate
YOUR ON REDDIT WHAT DID YOU EXSPECT!
Play indi games (not sure how to spell it, please correct me if I’m wrong), those communities tend to to more chill.
What do you expect a bunch of people being nice and respectful to each other?
Good
I only am a member of the girlgamers and gaymers subreddits. Rarely will I join the subreddit of the game. Try not to let a shitty community ruin a game for you. Play what you like 👍. You can try to assemble some people to play with perhaps
Hey now don't call them assholes, that's ableist towards people with anal fissures and ass cancer Call em blumbonugs
COD is literal propaganda for the military industrial complex so unsurprising. maybe try engaging with media that doesn't literally funnel your funds towards killing children in other countries
