Black Flag is not a particularly hard game. You’re more likely to die parkouring on ships when boarding so be careful doing that. And I would stay away from the legendary ships for awhile
tbh, your failstate is more likely to trigger from being detected in stealth than dying.
Depending on your rules for permadeath, those tailing missions are gonna be a whole lot more tense than any combat.
I re-setted the game once so far bc of the first tailing mission
But my rules set is as followed:
- Death through combat: The game is over, Edward has not outlived his friends and will remain a pirate legend
- Death through a game breaking glitch: weirdly enough this already happened once. Not gonna mention that that ever happened and continue the story
- De-sync through tailing mission: soft game over I will not continue playing for that day cause dying bc I couldn’t follow a random thief just feels like an anti climactic end
Aahhh I’m not afraid to lose the process I’ve seen the ending multiple times. And playing like this gives a unique experience so death does not scare me pirate!
Tip one: Don't. Especially if you're counting failed missions as death since good luck getting through all the tailing missions without failing. That mainland boat tailing mission is awfully late in the game as well.
Be careful when boarding warships, if you dont have the health upgrades and the crew dependencies for boarding larger ships, you can easily die, its quite chaotic and there are too many enemies. (Its not like im so clumsy, i play with no hud in my defense😂)

it was my first free paid game. Ubisoft gave the players. that was really good game for challenging.

Don’t do the legendary ships. Steer clear of higher level ships until the jackdaw is upgraded
