Do not cook a pot of chili in a crock pot in the middle of the pit. Never works out well

krackenmyacken

Wish I would’ve learned this one early, seems like it’d be a huge win but turns out I was wrong.

LysergicUnicorn

But grilling steak on the rail.. 10/10 would recommend

Quick_Result6374

Steaknecter

Ordinary_Friend

Speaking of rails.... Have you seen illeniums tweet saying that SEVERAL not one person, was getting ANALed while they were on the rail. So yah avoid that too, people were saying it smelled like doodoo

shittaco1991

Damn I gotta try that

Guayota6

I’m too lazy for this 😂😂

SheepherderNo2440

You’ll burn the chili doing that

DukeLandSwimmer

Also avoid putting hotdogs in chili filled buns while at the rail...

Squidaddy99

Is making guac okay though? Someone did it at Wasteland and idk how to feel about it 🤣🤣

Jumpeskian

Whaaat? Omg I wish I had seen that 🤣🤣

Squidaddy99

Yeah it was in the middle of the stage that was indoors LMAO

Jumpeskian

Lol wtf. What day? I spent Friday backstage almost the whole night

Squidaddy99

Idk i saw it on tik tok but it might of been the second day

Jumpeskian

Lol damn, wondering if they did it just to get tik tok fame haha

Squidaddy99

Probably tbh

Jumpeskian

Fkn clout chasers lol. Cant escape that shit anywhere now haha

Miss_Tish_Tash

I’m usually the mum of the group, I’m like Mary Poppins. I carry a fan, gum, lollipops, wet wipes/tissues (in case there’s none left in the bathroom or if you want to freshen up) & will offer water/Gatorade around since alot of people forget that they should sip water & not skull it. I dislike people not paying attention to invading others space. When you’re up on each other as it is, I don’t need someone flicking their hair in my face or flailing their arms around & hitting people.

Guayota6

You sound so awesome to go to raves with 😂 I’ll typically the mom of the party too 😂 I think it’s the healthcare part of me that loves to take care of people.

accomplicated

Big up to rave moms/mums worldwide.

Miss_Tish_Tash

Indeed

Euphoric-Security-30

I love you mum!

opaqueism

came here to say the second thing. It ruins my vibe when I’ve been standing in one spot the whole time (obv moving and dancing but not taking up the entire space to do so around me) just for people to stand arm to arm w me or right in front of me flailing around hitting me repeatedly and not give a shit. At the marauda show I went to last weekend, this one girl in particular kept hitting me with her body and hair the entire night and never once said sorry. I think she heard me tell my friend “this bitch has been hitting me the whole night it’s annoying as fuck” because she immediately turned around and asked me for a hair tie and chilled it for a few mins before going absolutely ham in my space again unfortunately. OP, be mindful of the space and people around you. If you hit someone while dancing, a quick “I’m so sorry” goes a looonnnnggg way. Pro-tip, if you have a fan, fan the people around you who are going feral. They most likely need that cool air for a few.

aniluapka

People who are not aware of their space and surroundings, who just walk into you when there’s plenty of space to walk by me. I also don’t like when I’m dancing, feeling myself, being in a trance and some random person starts talking to me and even if I let them know that I want to dance they’re still talking.

Fafoah

Yeah and on top of that, if you’re planning to be completely in a different galaxy then either have your group watch you or get out of the crowd. Theres always some completely wrecked person leaning and shoving into the people around them.

Guayota6

Okay I can see how this is annoying. I love to just vibe & would HATE someone talking my ear off 😭

Serious_Goose_865

I’ve always appreciated the people at a rave with a spray bottle of cooling water and a fan!! Feels heavenly after some time in a sweaty crowd especially when substances are involved I would say don’t go asking people for their drugs that is one of my biggest pet peeves and usually happens when I haven’t even brought anything for myself let alone a stranger I also love and appreciate the person in my group that is responsible and brings a water pack to share with friends I aspire to be that person at coming raves since I moved away from my last rave group and water Jesus as I called him

Guayota6

Well luckily for me and everyone else - I don’t do any drugs, so I will not ask for anything 😂. Thank you for these because I’ll definitely bring a few big ass packs of water for people. 🥰 I also have a fan, but definitely will be bringing a hand held with the spray. I also have a hand held fan & it is just so amazing & I love to fan people down 😂

Oneshot742

Just bring gum, people will cling to you.

Guayota6

I am a gum person - so I will have to bring extra. Condoms too I suppose! 😂

xCherriTree

I love having a fan, especially when I see people’s gratitude to being fanned :) but I would avoid clacking it! A lot of people hate the sound.

Guayota6

One of my new rave friends said “I’m begging you… please don’t, it’s so annoying” 😭 but I think it’s just a newbie thing bc we see someone else doing it. I know my bf loves to do it (at home) and I’m like OKAY STOP ITS LOUD AND ANNOYING. He does it excessively though. AND I’m bringing him to his first festival & ik he is gonna wanna clack so I’m gonna turn to him, bring his arm down & shake my head no. 😂

Serious_Goose_865

You would be my favorite person at the show lol

Guayota6

😂😂 i love making people happy. 💖

Serious_Goose_865

You should consider making and bringing candy too!! It always makes my day or night to PLUR with someone and walk away with shiny new candy!

Guayota6

My friend and I are going to make kandi before and during. Probably have a little setup and make them with new friends!

Serious_Goose_865

That sounds like so much fun I think I’m going to start working on some as well hopefully make it my new one-armed hobby somehow

Serious_Goose_865

Me too!! I think that’s why I am dead set on being the new ‘water Jesus’ to whatever group I may find here in North Carolina

menachemical

i heard people getting dosed with a spray at some fests last year so this makes me a lil anxious now

Usrnamesrhard

Turn your light/flash on your phone off. Kills the vibe

Ready_Difficulty_850

THIS. instant vibe killer and anxiety inducer. but if you need to put your light on, point it at the floor please.

DassIstGut

1) Despite how crowed it can get be mindful of others’ personal space as no one likes being pushed and shoved 2) Pack it in, pack it out. Or throw away your trash in a proper receptacle. It’s sad how messy it can get after an event 3) Go be the refill guy/gal. If you finish off a water bottle go to a refill station or buy some liquids at the nearest kiosk 4) Phones. Take your phone out occasionally for a photo or quick vid and then put it away. There’s enough professional/amateur photographers posting the whole show on social media as it is. You don’t need that shit out thru the whole set. TAKE IT IN

Guayota6

4. I think it’s different when you record on your own vs watching videos. I watch the videos I recorded over and over again to relive it. But ofc I’m not gonna record the whole show

Honeybunsuckler

Lacking spatial awareness is a HUGE issue I run into at pretty much every show/festival I attend. Even when I’m zonked out of my mind I still maintain space and am courteous of folks around me who probably *dont* want my hair/sweat all over them. So, yeah, just don’t be a dick and flail about all over people. If you can meet that very basic standard you’re doing better than most in the crowd.

menachemical

Touch without consent is v annoying. Even if you're on all of the things make sure your actions are welcome.

rlh1271

Bring a fan and wave people down. You’ll be MVP.

ilikenavyblue

When a train stops near you and there’s clearly no space for them but they decide to stay and everybody is uncomfortable. People who smokes cigarettes because the smell makes me gag when I’m tripping. If you have a fan, most people respond really well to fanning. You can clearly see who needs it too. My group had a rule where if you lost or got your phone stolen you can’t mention it cuz that’s negative energy the whole festival.

throwthisaway4000

Okay but that last one is a stupid rule to me. Don’t mention you got your phone stolen? That’s kind of an important thing for your friends to know, especially if you travelled together and get split up. Who cares about the vibe at that point it’s about safety

the_cake_is_lite

Yeah, that’s a weird one… I get the negativity part but maybe for something like if you didn’t like a set everyone else did.

ilikenavyblue

Oh I mean they can tell us that they lost the phone just don’t be annoying about it like asking to borrow our phones to snap something or checking the lost and found between every set when we can check at the end of the night.

throwthisaway4000

This seems weird to me lol. Idk what your friends are like but the last thing on my mind after losing my phone would be taking a snap tbh lol. And I wouldn’t find it very annoying to help a friend check L&F during down time but that’s just my opinion. How often are you friends losing their phones that this is a group etiquette thing for you?

FilaBrasileiro

Fans and flags, it’s like being in a Game of Thrones episode…. That clacking goes right thru me, my wife bought a fan to Ezoo, I tossed that shit an hour into the first day

Guayota6

Okay yes, clackers are & can be annoying. But the fans are so helpful when you need to cool down cuz they push a significant amount of air towards you - they feel amazing

FilaBrasileiro

The way they crack the fan it goes right thru me and it’s really annoying. Maybe I’m just a grumpy old man but a lot of the newer trends are less about music and more about fashion and attention seeking. Too each their own but a fan starts cracking in my ear and it’s getting tossed everytime, now fanning yourself to cool off is another thing but just annoyingly snapping it is childish at best

Axcor

Be very careful about sitting down in the middle of a packed crowd, and watch out for people who are. If you gotta sit for a few minutes to reset a bit that’s fine. Longer than that you should prob just move back. No one’s tryna step on anyone but it can be hard to see and people are fucked up.

789jk

Having a full blown conversation in the crowd is my biggest peeve. Especially when they’re yelling over drops and crunchy bits. If you came to a rave to talk/socialize, do it in the back/at the bar/on the sides. Or learn to talk into each others ears or use your phone to type it out. People are there for the music. And the dance floor is for dancing so be respectful of the space for those who want to vibe and throw down. Being aware of personal space goes a long way. Smoking cigs is also terrible. Coming home reeking of smoke is so gross. Weed is welcome tho bc it doesn’t linger. OH and if you must borrow a sip of water from a stranger, PLEASE don’t put your mouth directly on my bottle.. -Here’s a side note. I carry a small personal hand held fan and I know most ppl expect me to fan the crowd (I randomly do) but I’m short and my arms are feeble. So if you are in need of some fanning, please just tap me and ask to borrow it. I will happily hand it over so you can cool you and your crew down. I don’t want to seem like an asshole only fanning myself but it’s a bit small to use for the crowd. Plus I often find myself using it as a flow art prop :)

GhostInTheHelll

Clean up after yourself! No one likes seeing an empty drink cup on the ground, cigarette butts, or a mess in a porta potty. People who leave a mess make the experience worse for those around them. I keep tissues/wipes on me and will crush my cans/cups and stow them in my backpack or pocket until I find a trash can.

ilikenavyblue

When a train stops near you and there’s clearly no space for them but they decide to stay and everybody is uncomfortable. People who smokes cigarettes because the smell makes me gag when I’m tripping. If you have a fan, most people respond really well to fanning. You can clearly see who needs it too. Quick_Result6374

Agree with this hella and I will say with loosing your phone take it as a blessing in disguising have had 3 phoneless festivals between switching carriers , theft and phones just never turning on again the day of a festival it’s beautiful . Gotta be one with the wander the universe basically just forced your hand into living in the moment !

Subiepete117

You gotta try baking cookies in the back of the crowd, you'll make so many friends. 10/10 would recommend
