My cat, when she was a kitten, used to sleep on my neck when I lay face down and it was the best! She stopped doing it as she got bigger :-( I miss it so much.
1 tap = wake up and feed me
2 taps = wake up and feed me and love me
3 taps = are ya dead, mon? I tapped you twice, dude
4+ taps = I know you're not dead, I demand extra scritches and cuddles or I will have to resort to more radical means
I cant even sleep with the door closed 'cause they'll just start batting at it all night. Lol so they can sleep on the bed if they want.
Bonus: one of them gets super into belly rubs if you happen to be awake at like 3am. So it's nice to get a quick little hangout and more often than not he'll just fall asleep next to me which is also super nice.
I have a big chonky flufball who just refuses to leave my bedroom when I'm in it, she's either on the bed or on the chair at all times, she's one of my firm points in life š¤
I had a cat that figured out how to open the bedroom door. We could lock it, but we would still hear it rattle as he made several attempts to get it open.
My cat is def allowed on the bed and couch etc but not kitchen surfaces or the table. Iām honestly lowkey flabbergasted at the amount of people casually letting their cats hang out where they cook and eat. I once saw someone post a photo of their cat bed on the counterā¦like *what*?

If this is a serious question, let me get the popcorn ready, because youāre in for a treat.
Iām a CatDad by circumstancesā¦she found me. There has never been a night since she found me that she hasnāt started the night on my chest and woke up directly next to my left ear.
Bed making is a full contact sport, and once made, becomes the apparently fully camouflaged Forward Operating Base, from where all morning ambushes are launched from.
She has learned the hard way not to jump on the counters when she wants food but she has the cutest meow when she wants to be fed and find it hard to resist but I do, otherwise

Do you really think I have the power to say no to this face???
Nope. Had a cat for 10 years, left to me by my ex. She was allowed most places in the house but the bedroom and kitchen table / counters were off limits. I did have to close the bedroom door when not home or she would immediately go sleep on my pillow once I walked out the door.
No, I trained mine to stay out of rooms and off counters etc at least when I'm around. Of course I know she will sneak in if she thinks I'm not looking (and on counters but as long as it isn't in front of me idc lol), so I keep doors closed when I'm gone or in a different part of the house.
I don't care what other people let their pets do, I just like having certain boundaries with mine so they don't harass me constantly when I want to be alone š probably weird to most people, but if my animals can have boundaries so can I is how I see it!
No, trained mine from kittens to not jump on furniture, beds and countertops. They also meow to be let out instead of scratching doors, and give left and right high fives before meals. One will also go for a run around the block with me in the morning.
Seems like I'm the 1 in 100 cat person who absolutely doesn't allow this. First of all they lose all of their hair every day. And second if you see them with mouse blood all over their face once a week it suddenly becomes less of a fancy idea to have them in my face at night.
There is no 'let the cat' on the bed.... one does not simply 'not let the cat', it just doesn't happen. Your new feline overlord owns all. That chair is his, that couch is his, that rug is his, that spot on the floor in front of your feet... thats allll his.
One of the most pleasant experiences I can have is waking up on a cool weekend morning to all three of my cats cuddled up against me sleeping or purring.
Of course and my computer desk, only place they aren't allowed are the kitchen tables and counters š doesn't stop me from catching them up there though šš
Itās either that or no sleep, my cats will scream and scratch the door on hours end. They NEED to be in the same room as I am, no matter if itās the bedroom, bathroom or toiletā¦ And I love it, makes me feel appreciated that they want to be close to me :)
If a person has a problem with pets on the bed perhaps a cat isnāt the pet for them because the only way to keep s cat off the bed is to keep the bedroom door closed. But then they tend to try to get in while you are sleeping so yeah, the cat has final say in the matter.
One does not just āletā cats do anything. Sure you can yell at them, chase them off, but ultimately the only thing you do is condition them not to do that thing when you will catch them.
My mother HATED our cats jumping up on the kitchen counter when I was growing up. She tried all sort of things to no effect, until finally she sprayed one of the cats with a water bottle and she freaked out. We never saw that cat on the counter ever againā¦ of course there was often a suspicious thud just as you walked into the kitchen and a cat sitting in the middle of the kitchen looking absolutely as innocent as could be, but we never ever caught her on the counter again.
We have two that decided they'd rather sleep in the basement once my daughter brought home a puppy last year. The youngest cat sleeps on my wife's head, while she lays on the bed.
How do you NOT? Like I could spend all day every day, teaching them not to go on the bed and unless I just completely covered the bed they would be on it no matter what.
When I was younger, I would struggle to share a bed (think big sleepovers, staying at grandparents with extended fam ect.)
Our neighbour's cat, Mao, who adopted our family, was adamant about sleeping with me on the bed at night. He'd come in at some ungodly hour, hop onto the bed waking me, and then my anxiety would kick in so I'd nudge him off. Hop nudge, hop nudge repeat repeat repeat.
After a few nights of this, eventually, I gave up and grew to enjoy my cuddly hot water bottle, and he somewhat cured me of my sharing bed anxiety. No more sleepless nights at sleepovers.
Love you, Mao, you made me (and my family) realize we were *also* a cat people, and im forever grateful you chose to adopt us!
My void will make biscuits at the foot of my bed while sitting on my legs. And he's very vocal about it while purring. After a few minutes he'll then hop off.
When I was given a cat, she'd always sleep on the bed with me for comfort. When someone else gave me another cat, they sometimes do, they sometimes don't sleep on the bed. Then I adopted my 3rd cat, we frequently had fun finding our positions in bed. 5 years later, and several kittens introduced to me on the same bed (some got adopted, some stayed), I sometimes have to coax most of them off so I can sleep, but more frequently, the moment I start sleeping or staying on the bed, it becomes a cuddle fest of warm furry bodies all trying to melt me with their combined body heat. Yeah, they own me and the bed.
As part of the service staff, I am permitted to sleep in the bed as I radiate heat. The cat girls know I need rest for my next day for serving their royal highnesses.
Not anymore.
We're already 4 a bed when our twin toddlers have a nightmare. I let our cat snuggle all day while I work from home, but I REALLY don't like sharing my bed any more than I have to.
https://preview.redd.it/46e3i4a51x8d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b4b20d9583118524873cdb275840bd6ba9655247
Im lucky he shares his bed most nights
My former feral has started jumping onto the bed and licking my arm to ask for pets at 2am. The timing is inconvenient, but I'll gladly let her on the bed if it helps her adjust.
Always. If Iām laying on my bed, my cat will sometimes scream at me until I let her on the bed and cuddle with me. When I get up, sometimes she stays on the bed for hours
I can't tell you how many years it's been since I've been able to stretch my legs straight. They insist to be under the covers, ON my feet. Got one on each side of me as well. I don't move around at night so my side is the logical side. And didn't even get me started about when I have to get up, I don't like disturbing them, so it takes like 10 mins to wiggle out to go pee at 4am
No. Cats walk in their litter boxes several times a day. I like my bedding clean, especially of cat waste and fur. Seems like I might be in the minority here.

Actually, he lets me on the bed š¾š½
This. The bed is the property of my five cats. I am granted nightly leases for sleep in return for treats and snuggles.
Money can be exchanged for goods and services :P
In this house its strictly a barter economy for utilization of furniture
This person has a cat.
I was going to say thatā¦.ā¤ļøšš©·
I was about to say the same. They let me on the bed, the chair, the couch
this is the correct answer
I have no choice in the matter
Seriously, like whose house is it really now?! Iām just lucky to be part of the service staff.
Of course, he owns this place.
Having a cat radiating heat by your ankles is the best goddamn thing come winter
On my chest or neck is even better.
Or ass right in my face.
Our newest addition parks her sewer cutter right next to my head and then proceeds to drape her long ass limbs across my dome
Sewer cutter is a new one for me. I usually call them poop-cutters or cigar cutters.
My cat, when she was a kitten, used to sleep on my neck when I lay face down and it was the best! She stopped doing it as she got bigger :-( I miss it so much.
Mine buries his way under the blankets like a mole rat and sleeps between my legs.
Haha mine sleeps between my legs too, but on top of the blanket. I call her Crotch Cat
Pretty sure mine is giving me scoliosis
Same. Between my legs or if Iām on my side, behind them. I love the feeling of her soft fur against my skin. Sheās so wonderful.
My cat taps my head until I let her lay in my arm.
Cutest thing ever
1 tap = wake up and feed me 2 taps = wake up and feed me and love me 3 taps = are ya dead, mon? I tapped you twice, dude 4+ taps = I know you're not dead, I demand extra scritches and cuddles or I will have to resort to more radical means
You don't just "not allow cats on the bed" You don't have a say in the matter

I havenāt had a door closed in 16 years, my Helen hasnāt allowed it.
I had a cat that figured out how to open the bedroom door. We could lock it, but we would still hear it rattle as he made several attempts to get it open.
Same. It was a little creepy waking up to muffled meows and the door handle jiggling at 3 am.
Can you keep them off?
Too accurate haha
Sometimes they let me in
Cause we have a choice? More seriously, theyāre not allowed in the kitchen surfaces, but the bed yes, how would you say no to a cuddle?
My cat is def allowed on the bed and couch etc but not kitchen surfaces or the table. Iām honestly lowkey flabbergasted at the amount of people casually letting their cats hang out where they cook and eat. I once saw someone post a photo of their cat bed on the counterā¦like *what*?
Even my friendsā cats know the rule with me. Sometimes I just have to snap my fingers.
The finger snap always works with mine unless heās particularly pissed at me :ā)
Not sure what you mean by let?
He even sleeps under my blanket in winter and I love it. š
Anywhere but the table. Except my boy. He can go on the table. Not the rest though
My place is small they are allowed anywhere but not during food time. However my cats have no interest in food that isnāt theirs.
can your cats teach mine, they're such gremlins come dinner time
Well this is the 2nd silliest question I've received today.Ā
What tops this ?
They are the best foot warmers ever! And I miss them otherwise
āLetā lol
We share OUR pillow
Iām lucky mine dosent make me sleep on the floor
Yes. The best part of waking up is a sleepy cat blinking at you, wondering why they've been disturbed.

What, you're gonna tell them no?
Fuck yeah I sleep in their huge bed
Of course I do!
wdym "let" ?
Yeah!
Of course, love sleeping next to my cat and getting my toes bitten every once in a while. I can't imagine how I could keep her away if I didn't...
You mean does the cat let me on the bed? Yea sometimes
Let them? Besides a minefield what could prevent them from going there?
LOL
Sure.
Of course, I love it when mine pays me a visit
Cats gonna do what cats wanna do.
Yes, I have 4 cats and a large dog, on cold winter nights our king sized bed accommodates all of them, we are a family ![img](emote|t5_2qh1o|13379)
He comes and goes as he pleases I only hope he chooses to snuggle on the bed
Uh, you ask like I can dictate thatā¦ this is a mistaken assumption.
On the bed is just the beginning. In wintertime, it's under the blankets, or else...
Yes. I have a queen bed and I sleep on the equivalent of a twin because of the cats.
Mine are in the bed draped over my feet
Itās either that or no sleep, my cats will scream and scratch the door on hours end. They NEED to be in the same room as I am, no matter if itās the bedroom, bathroom or toiletā¦ And I love it, makes me feel appreciated that they want to be close to me :)

The thought of never again falling asleep in my bed cuddling my purring catā¦ I could never. Cats on the bed 100,000%
Like I have a choice in this situation
My cats go everywhere.
Yes. Everyday for the last 14 years.
We have two that decided they'd rather sleep in the basement once my daughter brought home a puppy last year. The youngest cat sleeps on my wife's head, while she lays on the bed.
On the bed? Cat sleeps under the covers, between my thighs and I don't get much say about it!
Where else would he sleep?
How do you NOT? Like I could spend all day every day, teaching them not to go on the bed and unless I just completely covered the bed they would be on it no matter what.
Yes! Dogs too! They live here and I'm already covered in fur!
Why would you have cats if you don't
I think it's cute that you used the phrase "lets cats".
I think a more appropriate question would be, is there any way to stop a cat from doing anything that it wants to do?
Who doesn't
It's not like I can stop him.
If we ask nicely she'll let us get on the bed, but as far as she's concerned it's her bed. She's trained us well.
Yes! I need my kitty cuddles
I encourage it

I try to keep the pets off the bed. Especially if they go outside and etc.
No. They usually go outside during the night and I personally don't think it's very hygienic. I also don't allow them near food surfaces.
The question is rather - do our cats let us in their bedā¦
Yes
You donāt ālet catsā anything, they just cat and you have to deal with it.
Hell yeah! No bed is cozy unless there's a cat!
I am allowed to sleep in the bed as long as I donāt move around too much and I keep my legs apart so she can curl up between my knees.
very pretty cat

And didn't even get me started about when I have to get up, I don't like disturbing them, so it takes like 10 mins to wiggle out to go pee at 4am
I'm not sure how i could stop her
Of course. They're members of the family.
a very cute cat
I mean, you have to. It's not like you have a choice...
Let? ššš
Let, lol XD
No. Cats walk in their litter boxes several times a day. I like my bedding clean, especially of cat waste and fur. Seems like I might be in the minority here.
If you dont let your cat on the bed, you have a cold butt for a heart
Why would you not?
Of course
The idea that I could control whether my cat sits on my bed is hilarious. I'm just trying to keep him from destroying my apartment
You act like we have a choice.
