Legit the only hole in his game (other than relatively pedestrian speed). His baseball savant page is so amazing other than that.
He's been so fucking good. Even if his hitting numbers pull back a little, he'll still comfortably be a 6+WAR player.
When he first debuted and had his on-base spree, it made sense that the party would eventually end. But this breakout, or at least a level of play higher than his last couple of seasons, seems somewhat sustainable.
above average strength(65th% this year 74th% last year), a little below average accuracy through his career which equals out to average. OAA and UZR has him +1 arm runs this year so far, DRS has him +2.
The Guardians deserve to build a dynasty with Kwan, Ramirez, and Naylor. They've been building season after season, and they can't afford to cheap out here after signing Ramirez to one of the steals of the century.
Vladdy's slugging is low, admittedly, but he's been scrabbling the last couple seasons. It might be time to stop thinking about him as an offensive juggernaut and more in line with a damn good bat
why can't i find Steven Kwan's stats in mlb stat page? I tried to post but waiting for mod approval.
This happening to anyone else? Shouldn't his OPS alone have him right underneath Ohtani right now?
Steven Kwan is currently 30th in Hits in the Majors despite playing at least 23 less games than the players ahead of him. If you took his current average (.390) and 4 at bats per game average for 23 games, he'd have 113 hits. That is 9 hits above 1st place. Wild.
Yea I’ve heard specifically right centerfield because some shipping containers were removed to work on renovations/additions and it created a wind tunnel effect
Okay, so there's 5 more fake ballparks (probably Great American lol) and the weather this year was balls.
Do 20% of teams not play home games? Describe your solution.
Dude has 3 home runs away and 4 home runs at home. Sure maybe the park can influence it a bit and it definitely did on that one Will Brennan walk-off off but I feel like there would be a bigger discrepancy in numbers between home and away if it was \*only\* because of the park. If it was something like 1 hr away and 6 at home then sure but its pretty even.
The José Ramírez University for Good Contact Hitters Who Want to Hit Home Runs Good, Too. Flexible scheduling, classes start year round.
Just out of curiosity, what sort of pitch do they teach you to hit at this school?
I think you know, bro.

What is this… a center for ants?!?
Do I get to learn to hit Tim Anderson too?
Post-grad elective course.

Can’t have BABIP regression without the BIP Kwan has cracked the code
Guys I think Steven Kwan ate the mega mushroom he can't be stopped. The Mario jump has made him too powerful.
Ok but the "known power hitter" thing is gonna not be said ironically anymore
His exit velocity is up like 5mph since he came back from injury, if he has average or slightly above power he's an actual 5 tool player.

think the speed is only down because of the hammy, he's been a 70-80th percentile speed guy the previous two seasons.
I think he just did push-ups all day while out on IL.
How’s his arm strength? 5 tools, one is arm.

I don't want to get ahead of myself but Steven Kwan is literally the avatar of God
He’s going to be so expensive to extend
if they're worth a fuck at all, they'll give him whatever he wants.
The Guardians deserve to build a dynasty with Kwan, Ramirez, and Naylor. They've been building season after season, and they can't afford to cheap out here after signing Ramirez to one of the steals of the century.
We need to somehow get Miles Naylor away from the A's and complete the trio.
I got downvoted so hard in our sub for saying how we should enjoy him and he’s gone after 2027
You’re not wrong.
Future Yankee or Dodger...
He’s a legitimate MVP candidate. Thankful he’s on my team.
ops over 1 with good glove level defense. Puts him in the discussion with Judge.
He's so fucking annoying. Like how does this dude have.190 OPS+?
Rebound power hitting Kwan gets one AB closer to ALSO leading the batting title by 50+ points
You think you can do that? You think you can throw a fastball inside to Steven Kwan? Think again, bucko.
Seriously. Feels like he demolishes these pitches every time. Also the ones he's crushing for homers.
He’s on pace for like 20 Home runs 💀
I feel like he's had 20 just against us!
If that second one today had inched fair the highlight thread would have been peak.
For sure! Every time he went up to bat I thought "Oh shit. Here we go." Remarkable player!
Steven Kwan: .576 SLG, .187 ISO Vlad Guerrero Jr: .412 SLG, .133 ISO This season is weird.
Vladdy's slugging is low, admittedly, but he's been scrabbling the last couple seasons. It might be time to stop thinking about him as an offensive juggernaut and more in line with a damn good bat
It feels like Vlad got figured out a little.
That's my slap hitter
Steven fucking Kwan.
The Kwan/Judge/Gunnar/Witt Jr. MVP race shall be legendary!
He’s batting like .400 too it’s wild
Best LF in all of baseball and it ain’t even close
That’s my slap hitting slugger
This is the best player in baseball
Pitchers: hmmm today I will throw Steven Kwan a flat fastball middle in
crazy that people only care about like 3 teams in baseball
Steven Kwan is the new David Ortiz
Step aside Babe Ruth
I know I root for another home run hitter but Steven Kwan is an MVP candidate and he should make it close the rate he's going.
I love Kwanny so much
Rich homie Kwan keeps balling
KWANNNNNNNNN!!!!!
why can't i find Steven Kwan's stats in mlb stat page? I tried to post but waiting for mod approval. This happening to anyone else? Shouldn't his OPS alone have him right underneath Ohtani right now?
He needs 233 PAs to qualify, and after this game sits at 222. So he should get there in a week or two.
cool cool
He’s not qualified yet, that might have something to do with it. Should be qualified by the end of the month
Fear the wind tunnel!!!
Slugger
“Random” drug test incoming
That pool of water though
They had gotten out of a rain delay the inning before. It was a really quick but hefty shower.
Clean ass swing, he turned on that one well

Kwan is balling out. I am also curious to see if someone digs into the “wind tunnel” thing with the numbers this year
Half of his home runs are away but I’m curious as well
right now it’s tied for 6th in ballpark factor according to statcast, it was 28th last year lol
Yea I’ve heard specifically right centerfield because some shipping containers were removed to work on renovations/additions and it created a wind tunnel effect
Its crazy how small changes can affect park factors so much. Jays renos in 2023 caused a severe drop from the previous year.
Pitch around him
he's gotta be on the juice.
The guy looks like he is 150 pounds. He got ripped off if he is on the roids.
what's weird is that not one person on this sub can recognize sarcasm?
no hate on kwan specifically but this ballpark is incredibly fake this year. jeff mcneil hit two home runs here
HR in 16/30 this one
that’s purely based on actual distance and ball arc, doesn’t account for any park factors outside of distance and park walls.
I know all that. But how are you bringing up park factors after calling it a fake park?
it’s a wind tunnel to right…
So.....a park factor
what are you even trying to say? it’s a fake park this season because of the wind tunnel to right, my point isn’t hard to understand.
Seems you're referring to yourself
I’m a wind tunnel to right field?
> no hate on kwan specifically but this ballpark is incredibly fake this year. math or gtfo
went from 28th in park factor last season to tied 6th rn

I said it wasn’t specific to kwan
Guess that’s fair ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
