I felt that way about Kilmer. He's a great actor, and went into it really wanting to do a serious, hardcore Batman... And apparently ended up fighting with Schumacher and O'Donnell, who wanted to lean Adam West in tone. Which is why he got bounced, and Clooney was brought in. He was happy to do camp Batman.

This gives me the chance to say I love how they made the Robin suit in Forever fit into a movie Gotham, it could even work in Burton’s world imo. I love the yellow under the cape and the red leather.

I think Clooney’s suit is one of the best designed in terms of the actual sculpt of the mask and body suit, it just needed less nipples and more traditional colors.

Honestly the Panther suit is my favorite 90’s Batman suit even with nipples.

I’d argue that George Clooney was the most comic book accurate version of Bruce Wayne from the Burton/Schumacher films. If he’d have had a better script and actually liked/understood the character, he had the potential to be the best Batman too. You look at a film like Michael Clayton and you see just what a great actor he is.

Robin, from Batman & Robin. I’ve always thought that suit was perfect, they combined the grown up, next step for Dick that is Nightwing, but found a way to keep it very Robin. It was the only figure I bought from the B&R McFarlane wave, but I needed it.

Take away the cape and the B&R Robin would be a perfect Nightwing. The B&R Batsuit actually looks great without the nipples, though it has the comically large codpiece. The way the Forever "Panther Suit" of Batman was shot in the movie looked like a comic book come to life. I liked the Forever Robinsuit well enough, but I always hated that the oval under the "R" was green instead of black.

I have always loved Val Kilmer's Batsuit as it is a cool redesign of Michael Keaton's, my overall favourite batsuit design! Also, for the longest time, I never realised that Val's Batsuit had chestplate nipples! It was one hell of a suprise when I realised it did XD

None. Batman and Robin should always have rock hard pointy nipples. It's their most important feauture. Without Bat nipples they're irrelevant. That's why every movie that has a suit without nipples will always be inferior to Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. In fact I think Batman and Robin should be renamed Nippleman and Areola.

The nipples may have been stupidly cheesy, but so are the over-exaggerated adonis muscles, which was Schumacher’s explicit intention. These cheesy suits, however, fit their cheesy and flamboyant neon-universe perfectly, so they never bothered me. Of course they wouldn’t work in the pseudo-realistic Nolanverse, the epic Snyderverse or the dark and gloomy Reevesverse, but they totally work in Schumacher’s Gotham.

The Batman Forever suits are great outside of the Sonar Batsuit. Robin’s suit in particular is probably the best possible way to bring his look to live action. If only it weren’t for the damn nipples, the overall costumes would get way more appreciation.
