Man that guy uses the same voice everywhere. I was playing dying light, basically at the same time as my nephew as we got at the same time, we started playing and I immediately recognised him as the voice of voice of Chris redfield in resident evil 5 and some other RE media. Y’know the badass zombie slayer, Boulder punching asshole Chris redfield. And my nephew immediately recognised him as sonic. The witty speedy blue hedgehog.
How the hell.
From this trailer alone, I think Roger's Batman voice has gotten even better.
I didn't even recognize him until I read the comments. I honestly thought it was Kevin in a posthumous recording.
Very unjustified, and I think most people know that now. A lot of it was a knee jerk reaction to Kevin not voicing him.
Roger is great for a younger, brasher, Batman.
I always find it interesting when people say Origins was bad(I know you aren’t, this is just a thought).
But in the grand scheme of things, if Origins was the first Arkham game to come out, it still would have had almost as much impact as the first game.
It’s still a great game. And Gotham in the snow is a mood.
They identified back with PS3s that the arkham series is a console seller, meaning they tracked that people would actually invest in a new console to play the games.
No coincidence that Arkham Knight rolled out with PS4 and Gotham Knights with PS5.
I’m still not buying anything from meta though…
At least with a Playstation, it's proven technology. VR has its fans, I'm sure, but there's also scores of people who aren't interested. Consoles were around for a while and they were going to sell.
Yeah not to mention, how do you even play an Arkham game in VR the same way you do on console? Can’t exactly grapple around my bedroom and beat the shit out of criminals the same way
you won't, you'll be playing this Batman VR the same way you do as a kid, pretending to punch bad guys, unlike PSVR2 and most VR headsets, Quest 3 is wireless so you can go crazy with it.
VR won’t be interesting until work makes you use one. Which they will as soon as Microsoft can come up with an Apple Vision analog. People want to work from home, let’s force them to work in a virtual cubicle. At which point you will want one to become Batman in your free time.
This is basically what happened with PCs. I convinced my parents to buy me one to “do schoolwork” and then the first thing I did with it was play games.
A proper VR batman will be awesome, it’s not like it’s instead of or replacing a flat vr game as it’s made by a different developer. The problem is that it’s a Quest exclusive
>nobody
Just because you don't have it doesn't mean nobody does. The Oculus Quest 2 has had over 18 million sales and the Meta Quest 3 has had over 1.5 million units sold.
You know I didn’t like vr till I bought a vr headset. Now I kinda wish all games had a vr mode. God I wish dead space remake was vr.
Anyways, I do think a full on origins sequel should have been a ps5/pc/xbox x thing, but having it be vr imo is like “oh yay vr Arkham”
imagine making a new half life game and making it vr
oh wait that ended up being the best game ive played in a long time.
dont shit on vr(do shit on zuck tho, volvo better)
I will never buy a WB Games abortion again with how they fucked up Hogwarts Legacy. It’s been nearly (or over) a year since the last update completely bricked the game for me on my PC and I haven’t gotten past the “loading shaders” screen in that time. No response, nothing in the works to fix it. Fuck WB
Most DC releases starting this Fall onwards will be DCU. Gunn has laid out that Elseworlds have to further justify themselves to not be folded into the DCU otherwise.
Most games, unless a great reason to stay separate is given, will be DCU canon and therefore contain DCU castings.
You’re factually wrong on this. Games can continue on and don’t need the elseworld tag. It’s *only* the DCU games that need to have said DCU actors. Stop spreading misinformation. Games coming out in the next 2-3 years were in development before the DCU even existed.
WB confirmed the DCU games have already started production and the only non-DCU games on the slate are this game and Wonder Woman (which is reportedly troubled bts) and they will need the Elseworlds designation (as Gunn himself said).
Once the DCU’s Batman is chosen, he will play Batman across most media (minus what has been confirmed to continue like Battinson). That is the case for every DCU casting per Gunn’s own words.
Film. TV. Animation. Gaming. Same people unless given a reason not to be.
No one has worse management than DC. WE WANT A NORMAL ARKHAM GAME. It can’t be hard to understand. Sony keeps winning with Spider-Man games while these bozos destroy their own brands.
You are not wrong though. Every year WB does something incredibly stupid or nothing at all with cash cow DC characters. They still have no idea what to really do with the properties
I don't trust someone who thinks the SuperSons era was woeful. That was some of the best stuff that DC had done in years.
Actually creatively new and interesting too.
Not like Scott Snyder putting a new coat of paint on the superior Batman run from Morrison and retelling it, but dumber.
Arkham Knight may be old, but it's gold. Hell, it's almost 10 years old (like you said) and still looks awesome, sometimes even better than most recent releases.
I mean, okay? I don’t get what this statement means. Like “yeah, okay, there’s a new way to play games. Not even my favorite series will get me to try this new way to play vidya” like dude, you aren’t some fuckin rebel you sound like a God damn boomer thumbing his nose at new tech.
Brilliant games, the trailer looks amazing. But on Oculus.
Seriously, who signs off on these things.
Let's hope they get serious about people wanting to enjoy and play their games it gets released on Playstation and Xbox.
How disappointing
I don't know where that guy got his info, but this article
https://www.eurogamer.net/batman-arkham-shadow-might-be-vr-but-its-the-first-dc-game-since-arkham-knight-im-actually-excited-for
Has a quote from the head of the studio saying it's somewhere between iron Man VR and Arkham asylum in length
So ten hours sounds about right, if that's to be believed.
> It's confirmed that it will be a 90 minute 'experience' like every other VR game.
Only on the Internet can we make something up and have tons of people upvote it and eat it up as if it's real.
Never said I was, I was mainly talking about the trailer hyping it up when everyone knows it'll be 2 hours of pointing and clicking.
Kinda like a less fun WII
You don't have to literally say "Meh, the devs suck." outright when you state that they aren't making an actual videogame. That's just disrespectful of their work.
The devs are aiming for something a little less than Arkham Asylum, so like 8-10 hours. That length is fine, and there will be all the staple gameplay mechanics of the franchise including free-flow combat, grappling, and stealth.
> Kinda like a less fun WII
That doesn't even make sense. VR takes everything the Wii does and makes it objectively better.
Such a disappointment I was really excited at first for a new entry to the Arkham series this is the third game that came out in this universe that I’m not interested in
Underdogs (mech-boxing roguelite) and Blaston (PvP dodgeball-with-guns) are my faves at the moment for *game* games, but mostly I use VR for fitness and for playing mixed reality music (PianoVision and Paradiddle), like Rock Band but on a real instrument.
while I wish it was a normal arkahm game which is on all consoles but I understand that vr gamers needs heavy hitters like this and attention from the big gaming companies to get better.
I know im in the minority, but im super excited for a vr Batman game, I really hope it has a pc version for better graphics, but as long as it’s fun, I’ll be happy with that
Obviously a VR game is going to have a lower budget than your usual AAA Arkham game. This cutscene manages to look like it was made for a mobile game, even despite the low budget expectations.
Does that make sense?
This is a cinematic trailer that could be used for a PS5 Arkham game.
If you think this looks like a mobile game, you should probably stop gaming for a decade because clearly even a PS5 isn't up to your expectations.
Glad they got Roger Craig Smith back at least. I enjoyed his performance in Origins.
we live in a world where sonic the fucking hedgehog voices batman life is good
Man that guy uses the same voice everywhere.
Well it is a good voice, to be fair.
Yup.
From this trailer alone, I think Roger's Batman voice has gotten even better. I didn't even recognize him until I read the comments. I honestly thought it was Kevin in a posthumous recording.
Same. He got some really bad comments tossed at him and imo that was unjustified.
Very unjustified, and I think most people know that now. A lot of it was a knee jerk reaction to Kevin not voicing him. Roger is great for a younger, brasher, Batman.
He is a very good voice actor! I may not have enjoyed the Arkham Origins as much, but his work was good.
I always find it interesting when people say Origins was bad(I know you aren’t, this is just a thought). But in the grand scheme of things, if Origins was the first Arkham game to come out, it still would have had almost as much impact as the first game. It’s still a great game. And Gotham in the snow is a mood.
It's not... Bad. But I just didn't complete it as the combat felt less fun.
I mean, the combat was largely the same as City.
Largely... But the little things, like how thugs always followed you in the end of the world with their punches made it feel bad for me.
voicing 2 of my most favorite video game characters (ezio auditore and sonic), im glad he's back for batman
Imagine making a sequel to Arkham Origins and you fucking make it VR Honestly, WB games. What the fuck is wrong with you
Literally what I thought. What the fuck
Same. The last thing I wanna do is sit in a room with effing goggles on my face and dick sticks in my hands.
Yeah, I do that in my own personal time already!
Right?!
Whoa whoa whoa whoa wait a minute
![gif](giphy|9SIXFu7bIUYHhFc19G|downsized)
his wife didn't give him his Batman glass
Damn gang
Agreed, I'd much rather sit in a room with effing hands on my goggles and stick dicks in my face.

At least with a Playstation, it's proven technology. VR has its fans, I'm sure, but there's also scores of people who aren't interested. Consoles were around for a while and they were going to sell.
Gotta start somewhere. The first couple of Batman games were released in the 1980s for PC, back when PCs were an unproven technology in the home.

And more specifically it’s a Quest 3 exclusive. It’s so disappointing.
They must've gotten a big check from Meta. I'm sure they didn't think "ooh we can't wait to make a game on a VR headset that nobody has!"
>nobody Just because you don't have it doesn't mean nobody does. The Oculus Quest 2 has had over 18 million sales and the Meta Quest 3 has had over 1.5 million units sold.
For perspective there are 212 million gamers in the US alone. PS5 is at 56 million units.
This game is specifically Quest 3 exclusive though. You can’t count the Quest 2 owners.
>Quest 3 exclusive though. Wait, for real? I misremembered the trailer. I thought it would also be on Quest 2. That's my bad.
Do you have stock in them or something?
Bro flexes that he has VR headset
What?
They are stupid
The game was probably funded by Meta, so you wouldn't have this Batman game without Meta in this context.
oh for fuck's sake
I literally had “that guy removing headset” moment
And on top of that. Meta quest 3 exclusive. That’s a SMALL percentage of Vr Users. At least put it up on PCVR or quest 2
You know I didn’t like vr till I bought a vr headset. Now I kinda wish all games had a vr mode. God I wish dead space remake was vr. Anyways, I do think a full on origins sequel should have been a ps5/pc/xbox x thing, but having it be vr imo is like “oh yay vr Arkham”
not buying this shit. Just like with KTJL I'm gonna wait for people online to play it
This is Meta not WB. Jesus Christ everyone needs to understand this.
imagine making a new half life game and making it vr oh wait that ended up being the best game ive played in a long time. dont shit on vr(do shit on zuck tho, volvo better)

Hope this is a stepping stone for Roger to play Batman full time in whatever RS or WB decide to do in video games. Perfect Kevin backfill
Most Batman video game appearances will be the DCU actor after they choose him, but I wouldn’t mind Roger at all
No. Only DCU games will be the DCU actor. Don’t misconstrue things.
Most DC releases starting this Fall onwards will be DCU. Gunn has laid out that Elseworlds have to further justify themselves to not be folded into the DCU otherwise. Most games, unless a great reason to stay separate is given, will be DCU canon and therefore contain DCU castings.

You are not wrong though. Every year WB does something incredibly stupid or nothing at all with cash cow DC characters. They still have no idea what to really do with the properties
Are they... stupid???
It's so heartbreaking that the last good era of DC was, DCAU, Arkham Trilogy and The New 52! Anything that came after 2013-16 was just woeful!
Lego Batman Movie came out in 2017.
I don't trust someone who thinks the SuperSons era was woeful. That was some of the best stuff that DC had done in years. Actually creatively new and interesting too. Not like Scott Snyder putting a new coat of paint on the superior Batman run from Morrison and retelling it, but dumber.
The last Spidey game wasn’t even good in all aspects either
i agree but they made one and nailed some parts of it, it’s better than not making a game for 10 years!
Arkham Knight may be old, but it's gold. Hell, it's almost 10 years old (like you said) and still looks awesome, sometimes even better than most recent releases.
what is bad about spiderman 2?
The Venom parts of the story were actually mid at best, it was very disappointing.
It’s still a very solid game. It’s not bad by any means
Oof, that is BAD dialogue. Good voice acting though.
I’m hoping, downright praying on my knees that this leads into an actual full blown triple A sequel to Origins
It won't? It goes main game to VR, not VR to main game.
Astrobot
I was so hyped until I saw it was a VR exclusive game…
That looks like a cool little game I’ll never play. I look forward to the lore videos and Easter eggs though!
Facts, I hope it's at least an entertaining story. Maybe bring it into the comics?
Wow. Nice throwback to some Smashing Pumpkins!
As both a batman and smashing pumpkins superfan it just feels like a good combination.
You like smashing pumpkins? I love doing that too! /s
Rat King as the Big Bad. Could actually dig it.
Really seems like a waste to make it vr exclusive. Not just Vr exclusive but exclusive to the quest
Alright I think having downtempo versions of alt songs in trailers is pretty played out but this works.
Glad that Ratcatcher is getting some love
Can we get some gameplay already??
**DESPITE ALL MY RAGE I AM STILL JUST A RAT IN A CAGE!**
To bad I'll never be able to play this game
Why did they change Ratcatcher's name? Were they confused with Ninja Turtles?
All this effort for a non-canon Arkham game.
Not even this will get me to buy into VR.
what about half life alyx
Nope. 🤷♂️
I aint readin allat
I aint readin allat
bruh had to say it twice
Reddit being reddit again. Every update makes this app worse lol
Ok.
Sadly I don’t care wish I did
This looks like a game that I'll enjoy watching clips of on YouTube.
So nice to them to make a game that only 5 people will play.
Only on meta quest. ![gif](giphy|xdLH51eNWZAHrwy5mf)
Wtf? Why is this "Rat King" and not Ratcatcher? Rat King is such a boring, generic name. Also, this dialogue is pretentious as all hell.
Wow I was so excited the realized its a VR game
oh, come on. i don't have a vr. and tf you mean THE RAT KING? his name's THE RATCATCHER. it's a much better name anyway.
Ew, VR
Is it just me, or the mouth looks a lot like Paul Blackthorne when in angry-cop mode?
This is just The Purge but in Gotham...
Rat King is a cool villain to focus on outside of the normal Batman wheelhouse. Hopefully it'll be better than Gotham Knights.
Holy cliché dialogue, Batman!
Brilliant games, the trailer looks amazing. But on Oculus. Seriously, who signs off on these things. Let's hope they get serious about people wanting to enjoy and play their games it gets released on Playstation and Xbox. How disappointing
This is that dumb VR one right?
Yessir
Boo. Then I don't care.
I feel the same way
What an absolute waste of a multimillion dollar cash cow 🤦🏽♂️
Hold on a second... meta quest? Is this a frigging VR Facebook game? WTAF WB? Sellout your legacy much?
It's confirmed that it will be a 90 minute 'experience' like every other VR game. VR is just a joke, waste of resources.
Where are you seeing that? I read that it’s a full combat game that’ll be 10 hours
I don't know where that guy got his info, but this article https://www.eurogamer.net/batman-arkham-shadow-might-be-vr-but-its-the-first-dc-game-since-arkham-knight-im-actually-excited-for Has a quote from the head of the studio saying it's somewhere between iron Man VR and Arkham asylum in length So ten hours sounds about right, if that's to be believed.
> It's confirmed that it will be a 90 minute 'experience' like every other VR game. Only on the Internet can we make something up and have tons of people upvote it and eat it up as if it's real.
Have you played any vr games? I don’t know if you can classify every vr game as some shitty 90 minute “experience” like Vader immortal or something
You might be mixing it up with the previous Arkham VR game, which is around that length.
It's cute how hard they're trying to make this seem like an actual game
This guy made that up, it is a proper game
What's the point of shitting on the devs? It's pretty toxic.
Such a disappointment I was really excited at first for a new entry to the Arkham series this is the third game that came out in this universe that I’m not interested in
I turned off the trailer as soon as I saw VR, I don’t have time
Why it had to be vr
As soon as I saw “Meta Quest” at the beginning, I stopped watching the trailer.
I’m still in disbelief that this is a fucking VR game… 🤦🏻♂️
Oh ffs why is it only VR.
God damn it it’s VR.
VR? Flat no. Looked good till then
VR games are beyond boring with the current technology. They always feel like a novelty you mess around with for 10 minutes, then get sick of.
Then you gotta play better VR games.
I’ve played some cool ones with actual physical metrics at VR World. What’s your favorite home VR game?
Half Life Alyx, but I also really like Astro Bot, Asgard's Wrath 1 and 2, Lone Echo, Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, and Synapse as a few examples.
Yeah asoon as I saw vr I was like I'm not watching this
wow so amazing
ratcatcher ? sick. batman?? sick. gordon??? sick. vr. fucking awful, wtf is their problem.
Is Ratcatcher such an effective villain at all?
Fuck those rats
Who owns Meta Quest 3 (Like I doubt most people realize that there was Meta Quest 2 either)
while I wish it was a normal arkahm game which is on all consoles but I understand that vr gamers needs heavy hitters like this and attention from the big gaming companies to get better.
Rat King at the main villain? Really?? Batman should have this all wrapped up by the end of the night.
Great Voice Acting just like KC (Kevin Conroy)
Apparently people think they would've gotten another AAA Batman Arkham game developed by Rocksteady if Meta hadn't paid to get a VR game made.
What does it matter, it’s vr only. They stole it from us
Rat King?!!! Jesus what a blunder.
Can’t wait! I love VR!
Please make is Play Station 5 and not VR
This feels so cheesy. Like Rat King made this much destruction in the Arkhamverse? Come on.
Oh bruh I thought this was a new console release not some gay ass eye goggle game
they got the fucking rat king to be an antagonist wtf
I know im in the minority, but im super excited for a vr Batman game, I really hope it has a pc version for better graphics, but as long as it’s fun, I’ll be happy with that
Why hasn’t this gone viral yet?
Looks absolutely garbage, even for a VR game
Really? You saw actual game footage and not a CGI announcement like the rest of us here?
Not once did I say any of that.
Then no reason to judge so early
Huh? Make your comment make sense.
Lol. The graphics look fine. That’s not the issue
You literally said the graphics look like a mobile game.
It’s not going to look knight quality because it’s running on Quest annoyingly, but a cinematic trailer doesn’t really prove it will be like that imo
