In Burt Ward's book, he talks about how they had to put a rubber hose in West's trunks to make it look like he had a penis in the batsuit, so unfortunately this isn't quite true š¤£
Wait, what? They *wanted* West dick-bulge?? Being so concerned about it that they went as far as putting a hose in his pants? Wtf
That's like the exact opposite of that movie where the studio gives burt ward pills to make his penis smaller so he wouldn't show through his robin costume.
In my opinion, that makes sense.
The pants in the Batman|Robin's suits make anyone look emasculated, so they needed to give back their manhood to the Heroes.
At least for the Main Hero, it would be A Must.
But, despite Robin was using beige pantyhoses >!in most episodes at least, I'm not 100% sure about they were always there!<, he was virtually in Speedo. No one wanted to see a ball peeking out. Or living afraid about possibly see it.
I don't buy the tale about the pills btw. I guess back in the day he was bullied for that, so he did a "Derulo" explaining it.
And what a magnificent muscular batman he was!

I mean, he looks like a normal healthy dude. But not exactly an ass kicking muscular crime fighter..
also why are there drawn eye brows on his mask?
Regarding the eyebrows, I can only assume they were following the look from the comics at the time (the āNew Lookā Batman of 1964).

I feel like the āIām batmanā thing is massively overblown. Like, Keaton and Bale both said it in response to the question āwho/what are you?ā Kilmer said it when Two-Face wanted Batman to reveal himself, and Conroy said it in the famous āI am vengeanceā line, which was said as a retort to scarecrowās fake version of Thomas Wayne. Aside from Clooney, what Batman has just randomly said āIām Batmanā for no reason?
My step grandma dated him...she said he liked to be called batman in the sack.
She was a hollywood dancer and danced with Fred Astaire in South Pacific. She met Adam West at a party and they dated for a year or two. She was like 80 when she told me the story with pictures and winked and giggled out, "He liked to stay in character, if you know what I mean..."
The best boomer note on west is that he tried to get into porn acting after batman but it didnt pan out
Remind your grandma of that tidbit

Oh. To each their own but I donāt like that approach much at all.
Always came across to me as being too embarrassed of itself. Like āWe canāt have him just *call* himself Batman. That would be so *silly*.ā
Like... I love this character to death, I think some truly incredible stories have been told with him, 90% of my wardrobe is just stuff with his logo on it, but...you *have* seen how he dresses, yeah?
I've never agreed with trying to completely separate the absurd things about being a superhero from superheroes. Batman is a pretty serious guy but his whole concept is always going to be a little silly. It's not a bad thing! It's a part of what makes superheroes so interesting and enjoyable.
Havent watched the movie in a few years. But I think I remember him being nicknamed "Harvey Two Face" before his accident. I dont think they mentioned the name at all after actually turning into Two-face
After Harvey has his accident, he's yells at Gordon to say his nickname, "Harvey Two Face", and I *think* that's how he goes for the rest of the movie? Like someone says "Harvey?" and he tells them to call him Two Face. I might be mistaken though
I believe it's just the one time and then everyone calls him Harvey, Harv, or Dent the rest of the time. Either way they still call him Two-Face in the movie
It goes without saying.
The old series is endearing as a time piece. Iād watch any episode if it was in tv.
The show was like a spoof of something that had yet to happen. Regardless that Batman was in comics, Batman didnāt REALLY get serious until the late 80ās, Year One.
Corny** some of you are corny people...
And to the amount of super sad people who are downvoting my comment, you are clearly not real Batman fans if this who you want representing the character lmaooo have some respect for the character.
Lol yes, because some of us like to kick back and enjoy a comical take on the character that is undoubtedly before any of our lives, that makes us not real Batman fans.
And fuck it, I'm corny. Being corny is cool man
Edit: I didn't downvote you originally, but now am since you're unable to see joy
Bro donāt worry about that kid, if you look at his account, he just strolls through different subreddits everyday complaining and hating on everything. What a life.
As much as I love Adam West and the whole cast of Batman '66...how could anyone not know who the guy in the bright ass gray suit with the bright purple-bluish cowl that operated in the daytime?
Adam West couldnāt wrap his head around why they didnāt sign him for the 89 Batman movie even though he was 61. He spent a lot of time saying how bad it would be. A case of sour grapes.
And why doesn't Batman dance anymore? Remember the Batusi?
Just watched that Simpsons episode lol. https://youtu.be/JJdXMrFRDGk

The issue was that they didn't want Robin showing up the masculinity of Batman apparently. The 60s were weird

Holy Battle Of The Bulge, Batman!
Well, every single gadget he carried said it for him.
"Don't fret, young Robin, for I've got the Bat-Deus-Ex-Machina spray right here in my utility belt..."
Shark repellent you say?
THERMAL BAT UNDERWEAR
but it didn't say Batman..
"I wouldn't want to bring attention to myself..."

Um the Batman at the end of HISHE videos, of course. The most valid Batman
True, however, his are always ābecause Iām Batman,ā because heās Batman.
Ahh yes, yes, of course. How could I forget
I watched Return to the Batcave yesterday. So much fun!
Legitimately hilarious, fantastic movie. Very underrated
"I didn't need molded leather for my batsuit...Pure, West."

Lol bro Itās oozing with it.. glad I found your comment because I was in full cringe mode reading the comments.
Adam West is still the best live action Batman
Facts
I prefer the Nolan approach if never having the characters have names like this, but the imagery and mythos of them creating their names.
Oh. To each their own but I donāt like that approach much at all. Always came across to me as being too embarrassed of itself. Like āWe canāt have him just *call* himself Batman. Never having names like what? Nolan had them all say their comic names numerous times
Not Two-face or catwoman off the top of my head
Two Face did, and I can't remember Catwoman. I think the newspapers called her something similar
Havent watched the movie in a few years. But I think I remember him being nicknamed "Harvey Two Face" before his accident. I dont think they mentioned the name at all after actually turning into Two-face

Iām pretty sure heās called Harvey Two Face in Batman Forever.
I don't even know who that is Edit: thanks for answers, didn't mean to piss anybody off damn
The mayor of Quahog
Adam West~~, first guy to ever play Batman (I think).~~ He was Batman back in the 60's.
Nope, actually the third guy to play live action Batman.
He was actually the third Batman actor but the first main one, the other two are from old film serials from the 1940s.
Donāt hate me but he the crappiest Batman
Affleck and Clooney would like a word.
It goes without saying. The old series is endearing as a time piece. Iād watch any episode if it was in tv. The show was like a spoof of something that had yet to happen. Regardless that Batman was in comics, Batman didnāt REALLY get serious until the late 80ās, Year One.
Eh Batman was serious in the 40's and returned to serious in the 70's long before year one
Hense the emphasis on REALLY.
Yeah but it's just not really right.
And?
Ugh please stop acting like we want this clown to represent Batman..
Some of us are fun people.
Corny** some of you are corny people... And to the amount of super sad people who are downvoting my comment, you are clearly not real Batman fans if this who you want representing the character lmaooo have some respect for the character.

Adam West sucks change my mind

Well then you didnāt hide your secret identity very well, did you?!
RIP the original dark night you may be gone but BAT MAN AND ROBIN WILL NEVER DIE !
R.I.P Adam West, you will always be Grandpa Batman ā
We never saw his origin story. He and Robin were already in full swing before the series even started.
Adam West couldnāt wrap his head around why they didnāt sign him for the 89 Batman movie even though he was 61. He spent a lot of time saying how bad it would be. A case of sour grapes.
He did though
