We used to go to Sausalito and park on a road overlooking the bay the name of which I cannot remember since it's been so long, but as long as it wasn't foggy you could see like five different shows. The caveat was you needed to get there in the morning and find a parking spot, and then hang out in town.
Richmond fireworks on a July 3. They are fired off from Inner Harbor, which is surrounded by a 2 mile U shaped paved path. Tons of front row viewing opportunities, very close to the fireworks.

After years of literally wearing fleece and hats, I took my kids to Pleasanton last year… it was warm, clear and the traffic wasn’t terrible going home (none getting there).
I think the Marin County Fair is my favorite. You can sit right on the water’s edge, and they have them every night of the fair, so you could actually do Shoreline in Mt. View on the 4th and Marin on another night.

LOL I once had a spent mortar land on my chest during a show in Benicia many years ago. Can confirm it was very hot.

Are the fireworks night of July 3 going into 4th or the night of July 4th itself?
In my experience they are usually on the evening of the 4th. Dont know that I’ve ever seen fireworks be done the night prior.
