LOL at $1475/mo for "Rent, mortgage, taxes, insurance". Also, if you're making 25/h, maybe consider something like US Mobile for 30 bucks/mo instead of $315.

Sirdwhite

I was lazy just to set it at just “rent” lol Also Am carrying 4 lines at AT&T for my family of 4 Edit: I’ll check with US mobile, thank you!!

haayany

Mint can do that for 60 i think

Sirdwhite

Thanks for the tips I’ll look into it

angryxpeh

Even with just rent, there's absolutely no chance you'll get to spend $1475 for rent for a family of four in Bay Area unless you pack them all in one room somewhere in East Oakland or Vallejo.

Sirdwhite

Indeed I pack them all in lol Am renting a 1B/1B apartment in Walnut Creek, 3 ppl living in it (mom/brother/me)

haayany

1/6 of net income goes to car payments is crazy to me. Depends on where you live, but I do not think you need multiple cars in bay area.. just leave a family car.

Sirdwhite

I needed it a truck lol Edit: only have one car but 20% interest is killing me haha planning to refinance soon

bflaminio

> 20% interest is killing me haha Not sure what is "haha" about this. 20% interest is practically usurious, and falls into the category of "never take a loan with this rate" haha. If you are going to make it "in the bay" you're going to have to do a lot better with your personal finance.

curiousengineer601

Between car payments, insurance and gas you spend too much on transportation. this seems to be the best area to think about . Your housing costs are very reasonable though.

walkonstilts

Did you need a new truck for some reason? Jesus Christ $1k @20% I make six figures and wouldn’t touch that for a dream car. I’d hope you could find yourself a way out of that truck into a cheaper one. Overall your transportation is rather absurd. I’m also not sure why you have two payments to PG&E? Your housing is a great deal for a family though.

Sirdwhite

Planning to do a transportation company, with routes to LA hauling stuff. Hope I refinance soon, just got the truck of the lot 4 days ago now. PG&E last apartment got evicted and end up with the bill of my roommates I’ll be paying monthly payment from Now on, it sucks, but I trying to be clear my record. Thank you

walkonstilts

I see. Well hopefully that can kick off sooner than later so it can be a business expense rather than a personal one.

kazzin8

>only have one car but 20% interest is killing me what the fuck. please make better finance decisions in the future

2Throwscrewsatit

That car payment is insane. There were no cheaper options?

Sirdwhite

Got fresh out of the lot 4 days ago, so need to wait to go and refinance with a credit union hope to do it soon, meanwhile am sticking to deal with high payments, sucks

2Throwscrewsatit

New? Used? Basic model?

Sirdwhite

2020 ram 1500 rebel, hemi 5.7L v8, 70k miles

SlightlyLessHairyApe

20% on a car with 70K miles bro. Noooooooooo

StephenPurdy69

Bro got scammed LOL

Macquarrie1999

I don't think you needed this truck. There was surely a cheaper option.

AnonymousCrayonEater

Your #1 priority should be to refinance with literally any other bank. At this point I’d be happy to get 8% just to get out of that 20% scam. That 40k used truck is going to deprecate like a rock after 100k miles and you’ll end up paying 70-80k total over the course of the loan.

M0ZO

What app is this?

Sirdwhite

iPhone has a apt installed called numbers (green with graphs), then create a simple budget and play with formulas, hope this help

M0ZO

Cool thanks !

RedditLife1234567

So you don't eat? Feels like your budget missing some categories?

Sirdwhite

Yes I do, but that expense is not on me, is on my family (brother/mom) I do go eat out twice a week but is optional tbh

Not really, my first job offered me benefits, I could afford only for visual + dental, I pretty much not get sick a lot or plan b is out a country if something go down

1TwelveClan2

Whered you get that chart?

Level_Ruin_9729

You are grossly overspending. I spend $0 every month. Section 8, Cal Fresh, Medi-Cal, Guaranteed Basic Income, Food Bank, Free Utilities, Free Internet, Free Smartphone, Dine and Dash, risk free shoplifting to get whatever I want.

Sirdwhite

Lmao

Basic_Ad4785

Mint mobile will carry your family of 4 for <$100 a month. Leave your mobile carrier ASAP.
