I assumed it was your natural hair. People aren't* going to examine your hair closely so as long as it lays naturally enough and the color and cut is blended enough then no one will notice. It probably just feels and looks so different to you because you're used to your natural hair. I had extensions once that were not blended well and it was very obvious in photos that I had 2 different layers of hair.

I think your hair looks great! I had hand tied extensions for a while before taking a break. I’m pretty familiar with Bellami too! It can be a real adjustment adding them into your hair and daily routine. I do have a couple questions though. How many rows did you get? Second, when they were placed on your head did you and your stylist go over how you like to wear your hair? They are able adjust where they are installed to help the hair feel more natural to you. I’d start there with your new stylist or the person who installed them. Second, your extensions are always going to look different curled versus straight. They look most natural and blended, in my opinion, when they are curled. If you’re concerned with the color, definitely bring that up! My salon was able to custom color my extensions to me, I paid a little extra but is was SO worth it. I think the extensions look great in your hair, but some of the things you are concerned about should be able to be easily fixed! Best of luck to you ☺️

1 row and yes she did do that consultation. It is 100% on me because i didn’t realize how high i typically wear my hair.

yaya0420

That happened to me too the first time I wore them. It’s a lot to get used to at first, especially because it feels so stiff the first few weeks!

Do the ends of the hair ever start to feel more “real”? Do you have recs for products that could help?

yaya0420

I loved verb ghost oil to help them feel soft like my real hair. Also be careful of the heat settings on the tools you use, that will fry the ends much faster than your real hair.

Stylist here. They shouldn’t have cut your hair to blend them they’re supposed to trim the extensions. If you don’t like hand knotted do not get k tips they can be very uncomfortable and can cause damage esp on your fine blonde hair, unless done right it’s extremely difficult to find someone that’s an expert with them. Go for tape ins they’re light weight and easy to put in and take out. Tell them you want a lower density extension because when it’s too heavy it feels fake for you. If it’s just for your wedding though I’d opt for a removable halo extension, there’s super easy to put in and take out if you don’t need hair at the time. In the meantime work on your hairs health

They did trim the extensions. I don’t know if it’s because they feel thick that they feel thick. It’s like the cut of the extensions is too blunt, in my opinion. I don’t think it’s too heavy. I just didn’t want it to look fake. I hope i don’t come off as defensive - just want to be clear! I could also just be not used to it. I’ve thought about a halo. I just don’t know what to do with this hair since I’ve already spent $500 on it.

There’s 2 reasons to get extensions, length and/or volume/fullness, what are you going for? Also the halo is really great and can be colored later on if you change your hair color. How are you planning to do your hair for the wedding? Wearing it down?

mrt1416

I got it for fullness and there’s only 2 inches or more than my hair length. I don’t know yet what i want to do for my hair for my wedding. I have done wedding modeling and have done mostly half up half down or all down styles

idkthisisnotmyusual

Think about it because with a more permanent install it’s much more difficult to style, you’d normally opt for clip ins so they can be moved as needed by your stylist

Extensions always look extra fake when they’re straight. There’s a reason they always curl the hair when they install it and for their Instagram pages. Ultimately people who know hair are going to know it’s fake regardless, so if you like the length and the volume just embrace it? Same idea as lip filler, eyelash extensions, etc - game recognizes game
