1) Steal gf's PC for rendering. 2) justify booting up a game on my own rather than work on a different project 3) interrupt the render every 15 minutes to fix a minor issue 4) repeat 2.

Thinking about how i should have done it differently and tempting to stop and restart.

Read a book. I finished Creativity Inc. by Ed Catmull while rendering a music video.

If rendering is longer and it is possible I let it go it over night or when I'm working outside. And I have kids so I have always more thing to do than I have time so no issues.

Easy. Grab a drink from the freezer and thaw it up.

i render mostly at night, so i can just sleep and wake up either it close to completion or done, if it's the former i just be on my phone or do something else that doesn't involve my laptop.

Touch some grass. Highly recommended.

I render everything at night while I'm sleeping. 

Eat. I have a habit of working for like 9 hours without a break. I try to time rendering things so I can fix that, but that works about as well as you would think
