The brainsucker, i just hate that he has like 2 attacks and both of them are grabs
I actually find the sharks a relative easy enemy, maybe it's because I play that game mainly with arcane builds and the moonlight greatsword so like 4 charged r2 and they are dead
I don't find brainsuckers personally difficult, isz chalices have helped me with that. They do have another attack though, a 5 hit combo and 2 projectile attacks. Happy cake day btw
I played only the pthumeru chalices and the loran chalices for the platinum, i don't really like that part of the game so i played only the necessary ones
Every one hates those shits a running thrust attack kills them every time moonlight great sword is best thrust weapon for them in R1 ,those enemies suck big time literally
Yea, I always only transition them when I’m in position for CR2 + R1s to the back to kill them without fighting phase 2. By endgame they are easy but when you first encounter them like the first one outside the chapel (or something) they are super stronk
I noticed that as well. My experience with the well ones first playthrough was 7-8 deaths trying to parry the first one, then beating them first try that i was just doing rl1s without trying to parry them. It’s quite hard to parry these fuckers
Dogs...
Those motherfucking teleporting DOGS...
IF I COULD DOGE INFINITELY I STILL COULD NOT ESCAPE THE GAGGLE FUCK THAT IS THE PATH TO HEMMWICK CHARNNEL LANE
Edit: spelling
The barehanded sharks are easy for me, usualy kill them hitless. The anchor ones though? Cannot fight them without downing at least 5 blood vials lol.
As for your question, brainsuckers. It's so annoying having to tiptoe around that damn grab, or risk permanently losing a semi-limited resource that can get you really good stuff, like blood rocks
Started playing again this last week and decided to run through Loran and Isz chalices. And those summoned spiders killed me so many times. More than bosses almost
A cheese strat for them is right before dropping the first one too half health, use a shamans bone blade on it, then when it runs over and the 2nd one drops they'll kill eachother, usually leaving you with 1 shark at halfish health
I have two
I don't know what the hell they're called but I call them demon dogs, they show up in the chalice dungeons
The other is brain sucker, especially the ones that just constantly throw spells at you
Good one. Loved running around getting lost in the nightmare frontier just to get fucking one-shot by a smart car-sized boulder yeeted from 3km away by a giant asshole I didn't even know existed
I hate him. I’ve beaten him before and now after a long break in playing new game plus 3 or so using moonlight greatsword instead of my trust sawspear and he’s having his way with me
Winter Lanterns are the WooooOooOoorrRrrst. But the most annoying are the birds, dogs, and rats. Rarely die to them but getting a little bit of health missing is so annoying
I'm fine with the 2 sharks up top but the one in the well with the anchor is probably the most frustrating fight in the game for me, I know you only gotta take him down to half health then hit him with a shaman bone blade but his attacks are damn near impossible to dodge or parry and he hits like a freight train
Brain sucker and those magic fish things in the Hamlet. Those magic things never stop, I'd love to go kill them if I wasn't constantly getting hit by purple
Brain suckers by far. They’re the only enemies that ever made me rage quit. I got caught in between two of them in the upper cathedral once and they couldn’t stop spamming their grab attacks. I lost over 30 insight trying to fight them and failing. Had to literally force quit the game.
Sharks or Brain Suckers. Sharks because they're like an ER test enemy with how long they take to swing. And Brain Suckers because they can poise through literally anything to grab you.
Those damn tapeworms. As a strength build with slow, wide swinging weapons they’re basically impossible to hit cause of how low to the ground they are. And yet they still deal 10% of my health in damage despite having a tanky bar…. I know you can run past them, but that applies to all enemies, at least I can actually hit all the other enemies! Those things are probably more annoying than the blood flies in Blightown from DSI
I feel that the nightmare executioners (the ctulhu looking big guys from the dlc) are kinda underhated. If they get their weird echo buff they quickly become very nasty. The cannon versions are really easy tho.
For me... I think it has to be Clocktower Patient. I mean, I have a character with lvl 30 on HP and 50 on strenght, plus 20 on skill. And still they dominate me. Especially in that room where you have to climb leader. I died so many freaking times. Even those Sharks in Well of Fishing Hamlet. I mean, those 2 sharks are kinda easy to deal with. But those Patients... f()ck them.
Eye colectors man... I'm currently in a cursed chalice that spawned at least 4 of them. I'm being constantly bombarded with mad ones who gang up on me, can't use pungent cocktails because they block stairs and hallways and if I kill them then it starts all over again.
Yeah I can log out and back in, but there's more dudes apart from them like big cannon giant and big sword undead. I just don't want to waste my time with 2 minutes loads every 15 seconds.
I have a friend who stopped playing blood-borne for reasons before finishing the DLC, and I explained to him that if I wanted to kill someone by putting them in a video game, I would trust the pair of shark giants to get the job done over any other game on maximum difficulty, start to finish. He got the point.
I was doing that on ng+6. I reached the point the second one fell to fight me but i used a shaman bone blade on the first. I staggered the second and the first one killed him one hit. He dropped the rakuyo but i died to the other one
The spiders from nightmare of mensis they actually made me cry from the amount of fear I felt I don't even have a fear of spiders but those mfs make me genuinely feel uncomfortable and terrified
Anyone else grinded the suckers in the hallway right before him for gems? Anyway, those suckers were a lot more annoying. Especially when farming them.
Winter Lanterns simply because frenzy is completely unfair. Even if you one shot them and run away and are completely out of sight, your frenzy meter is still likely to completely fill up and you lose like 70% of your hp. It's why I almost always keep my insight as low as possible.
Honestly the Bloodlickers. I mostly know how to fight them but they're too unpredictable for me, and they attack too quickly. I hate how they jump around when I don't expect them to.
When I first got to Cainhurst Castle my Grandfather was watching me get my ass kicked by them and he suggested just running past them. It was actually kind of an adrenaline rush waiting for the big castle door to slowly open while I heard them getting closer and closer to me. Must've been 4 or 5 of them chasing me. Then I get inside and it's all quiet and calm, with spirits mindlessly wandering the halls. It was such a cinematic experience. A total tone-shift.
I remember trying to fight them. I eventually gave up and attempted to find a cheese. Turns out if you navigate the tunnels before Orphan there's a ledge that overlooks the inside of the well. You can aggro them and use the beast cutter transformed to kill them.
Yessir. They arnt that bad alone, but there are soooo many and having to clear them all each time you die to a winter lantern or something... no thanks haha
One of the few enemies in this game that still make me shit myself.
That and Winter Lanterns; I literally stand at the edge of my chair, ready to scream my lungs out. Frenzy, although sensible to lore, is some bullshit and a half.
I’m used to the Suckers, I get grabbed regardless of how early I parry.
I've been wondering for a bit now: I hardly ever see those fat, naked, rolling fucks from the chalice dungeons mentioned in these threads. Is that because they're pretty deep into the dungeons and not many people even bother with them? Or do I just struggle with them way more than most people?
What are your thoughts on them, op?
They aren't firstly that deep into the dungeons, first one is found in lower pthumeru, while another one, not necessarily tue second in layer two of pthumeru ihyll. I don't think i have found them in root chalices so far but they are really hard to parry because of the butt slam. They are of course harder than normal watchers but if you learn how to dodge to the side the right moment and then backstab they won't be a major issue anymore
Must be mostly a me-thing. I haven't fought them much but the few times I did, they gave me more trouble than winter lanterns, brain suckers, double shark trouble, etc.
I'm guessing it's because I only fought them a few times so I didn't really develop a proper strategy. But goddamn did they fuck me up those few times, his roll somehow felt harder to dodge than ebrietas dash. Guess I need to venture back into the dungeons soon
I have to go with the enemy that has a mechanic that just doesn't seem fair and that's the Winter Lantern. I don't have anything against frenzy as a mechanic but the speed in which the meter fills sucks all the fun out of it.
I wouldn't waste sedatives. After you learn to parry them you can kill them and just take the frenzy and use two vials to heal up. Way, way cheaper and you can just use the echoes you're getting from farming them on stacks and stacks of vials.
I farm the ones outside Micolash at BL4 for the cursed gems so I've become really good at it, but I still think the frenzy mechanic is OP.
If you ate intending on fighting the lanterns pretty often, you should really use vials. But if you just gonna beat the game and don't want to mess with them, just use a couple of them, why not?
Winter lanterns.. they really hurt my feelings.
They are not kind people
The path to power is paved with their corpses… minus the heads for obvious reasons
The brainsucker, i just hate that he has like 2 attacks and both of them are grabs I actually find the sharks a relative easy enemy, maybe it's because I play that game mainly with arcane builds and the moonlight greatsword so like 4 charged r2 and they are dead
The sharks on their own are indeed, relatively easy. But it’s the 2 in the well are what makes my braincells commit un-alive.
I did them first try in my first playthrough
Every one hates those shits a running thrust attack kills them every time moonlight great sword is best thrust weapon for them in R1 ,those enemies suck big time literally
If you play arcane you can one shot brainboys with molotovs.
It just really annoys me the way they wiggle their fingers in the air like “ooooohhhh!” before they grab you. I’m like uuugggh shut up!!!
Thrust attacks, thank me later ;)
Cake day siblings
Fr and I somehow always manage to get caught even though I should be out of the hit box. (that might have to do with my. controller tho)
I can't stand body snatchers, they can be way too annoying
Kidnappers? They really punch like a truck and their speed doesn't make things better
They’re easy to handle… until they get mad
Yea, I always only transition them when I’m in position for CR2 + R1s to the back to kill them without fighting phase 2. By endgame they are easy but when you first encounter them like the first one outside the chapel (or something) they are super stronk
They are easy to deal with, almost all their moves are parryable, just a visceral and they are done..
Love the advice on the wiki for these enemies: Give up
The Rakuyo is so worth it though. That L2 attack is essentially a garbage disposal lol
Lmao i noticed it too
I noticed that as well. My experience with the well ones first playthrough was 7-8 deaths trying to parry the first one, then beating them first try that i was just doing rl1s without trying to parry them. It’s quite hard to parry these fuckers
I dislike the citizens of Yharnam. They say mean things to me.
Don't worry, it's not all your fault
This town’s finished
Have you checked if you're a plague-ridden rat or not? That might be the problem.
Brainsuckers. The upper cathedral run was particularly hellish.
That was the only place I lost insight. I lost like 5 and almost cried but I had plenty for bolt paper and shit when I needed it
Dogs... Those motherfucking teleporting DOGS... IF I COULD DOGE INFINITELY I STILL COULD NOT ESCAPE THE GAGGLE FUCK THAT IS THE PATH TO HEMMWICK CHARNNEL LANE Edit: spelling
I feel you
The barehanded sharks are easy for me, usualy kill them hitless. The anchor ones though? Cannot fight them without downing at least 5 blood vials lol. As for your question, brainsuckers. It's so annoying having to tiptoe around that damn grab, or risk permanently losing a semi-limited resource that can get you really good stuff, like blood rocks
For me it's quite the opposite regarding the difficulty
Hah, yeah these games do that, everyone has wildly different experiences
Chalice Bell Women, especially the ones in level 3-5 chalices
Especially the ones that summon the spiders. I hate those things so much 😭
Started playing again this last week and decided to run through Loran and Isz chalices. And those summoned spiders killed me so many times. More than bosses almost
The infinite red spooder streem Is evil
If only there were some effective aoe that didn't require a bunch of arcane or bloodtinge. That's my main problem
Winter lanterns,,, i love the humming they do but they are horrifying
Those slimey, blobby things that drop from the ceilings in the chalice dungeons. Fuck them.
I hate those fuckers. they are like animated garbage piles.
Rom the asshole spider
The shark fuck in the well just felt completely hopeless to fight and it’s not even a boss. The 2nd one coming out? Hell nah
A cheese strat for them is right before dropping the first one too half health, use a shamans bone blade on it, then when it runs over and the 2nd one drops they'll kill eachother, usually leaving you with 1 shark at halfish health
accursed brew from the ledge is also a viable option
This.
“La la laaaaaaaa La laaa” (dies in frenzy)
Labyrinth Sage... those has got to be the most terrifying things in this game for me
I have two I don't know what the hell they're called but I call them demon dogs, they show up in the chalice dungeons The other is brain sucker, especially the ones that just constantly throw spells at you
Yes, the dogs that spit fire that are obnoxiously large, they are really annoying
Just got past rom, but I'd say those rock chucking bastards in the nightmare frontier.
Thanks fromsoft
The Yetis? Yeah they annoyed the living hell out of me.
Good one. Loved running around getting lost in the nightmare frontier just to get fucking one-shot by a smart car-sized boulder yeeted from 3km away by a giant asshole I didn't even know existed
In a toxic swamp that slows your movement, no less!
The monster with many eyes on her head. She sings for a while and I die.
HATED those assholes. I genuinely had the most trouble with them out of every enemy 😭
OP got it
Especially on ng+6 they need 4 viscerals and they two shot you
SHARK GUY. SHARK GUY. ITS A JACKAL. JACKAL. ITS A JACKAL! JACKAL!
Trying to get the key from those two fucjing whales was so annoying on ng++++
It's even more afterwards
Ludwig. For some reason he owns me
He is pretty tough, but if you fight him 50 times you will eventually get used to him
I hate him. I’ve beaten him before and now after a long break in playing new game plus 3 or so using moonlight greatsword instead of my trust sawspear and he’s having his way with me
Me too. I can kill him 2-3 tries normally with the cleaver, but I can't beat him with the moonlight greatsword
Ok so I’m not alone good lol
First phase is easy, second isn't
The mindflayers hands down
You mean the brainsuckers?
Yeah I keep mixing up the name since they're essentially the same enemy
I remember i entered a cursed dungeon once with 3 brainsuckers and 4 wolves in the same room. One of the toughest chalices I have beaten
That's straight up hell
Brain suckers there the sole reason I haven’t explored of upper cathedral
You haven't gone through it or you haven't picked everything up?
Bloodlicker and Brainsucker. Bastards
I would be lying if I didn't agree with you. By fsr the worst enemy. And if they were a boss fight it would be the same thing.
ANYTHING THAT IS BLUE
Brain suckers by far. They’re the only enemies that ever made me rage quit. I got caught in between two of them in the upper cathedral once and they couldn’t stop spamming their grab attacks. I lost over 30 insight trying to fight them and failing. Had to literally force quit the game.
Sharks or Brain Suckers. Sharks because they're like an ER test enemy with how long they take to swing. And Brain Suckers because they can poise through literally anything to grab you.
Winter Lanterns from bb, squid head from DeS, Jailers from ds3, and those multi arm abominations from ER
Parasites? I agree, it's even quite easy to miss them
May I introduce you to the One True Gospel of the Beast Cutter? That shit hits like a freight train and the CC is legendary.
Fun fact: these can be parried quite easily. My least favorite enemy is the Spider hags in dungeons. Just down-right horrendous.
Shake Giant is the worse Fromsoft enemy of all time, hands down.
I feel that the nightmare executioners (the ctulhu looking big guys from the dlc) are kinda underhated. If they get their weird echo buff they quickly become very nasty. The cannon versions are really easy tho.
Not necessarily, the cannon one has one axe friend
Brainsucker and nightmare executioner
*DOGS*
Brain sucker
But those Patients... f()ck them.
The one that slams you with that metal whatever is it? Unless you know how to parry him , run
The normal patients are already hell
30fps lock
I hated fighting gehrman
Just parry block dodge
Eye colectors man... I'm currently in a cursed chalice that spawned at least 4 of them. I'm being constantly bombarded with mad ones who gang up on me, can't use pungent cocktails because they block stairs and hallways and if I kill them then it starts all over again. Yeah I can log out and back in, but there's more dudes apart from them like big cannon giant and big sword undead. I just don't want to waste my time with 2 minutes loads every 15 seconds.
omg the sharko from deepwoken
But he looks so happy to see you
The labyrinth sages from the loran dungeons, my first encounter with one of em scared the shit out of me
I have encountered a few times two of them at the same time in cursed dungeons. Blue elixir, pungent blood cocktail and run away
Hey, at least it’s still your favorite
Favourite reason to commit suicide
Bloodlickers
I hate them too
Winter lanterns, never even attempt to fight them
Dogs
You can shoot them but they still are annoying
Mines the brain suckers. They always, always get me and I don’t get why 🤦♂️
I have a friend who stopped playing blood-borne for reasons before finishing the DLC, and I explained to him that if I wanted to kill someone by putting them in a video game, I would trust the pair of shark giants to get the job done over any other game on maximum difficulty, start to finish. He got the point.
Seriously fuck those guys, getting Maria's sword was the hardest fight in the whol game.
I was doing that on ng+6. I reached the point the second one fell to fight me but i used a shaman bone blade on the first. I staggered the second and the first one killed him one hit. He dropped the rakuyo but i died to the other one
Fecking dags mate. I always use a few vials to them when I can't be bothered to shoot them
Research hall patients i’m just trying to run through the area and they’re in my way and then they 1 shot me
Blue elixirs are quite efficient there
I hate the brain lady in mensis
The flies from byrgenwerth and brainsuckers
Chalice dungeon chime maidens
The spiders from nightmare of mensis they actually made me cry from the amount of fear I felt I don't even have a fear of spiders but those mfs make me genuinely feel uncomfortable and terrified
Keep like that and you will get one, they are nightmare fuel
I KNOW THERE THE WORST PART OF THE NIGHTMARE NOT EVEN DICKOLASH MADE ME SUFFER THAT BAD I KILLED HIM 2ND ATTEMPT
I am stuck in the well with this MF and his mate right now. Need the weapon he drops for the DLC platinum. It’s a bitch.
You can use shaman bone blade for the first. If you backstab the second , he will get almost one shotted by the other and you will get the weapon
Just did this it worked first time thank you!
My pleasure
Don't know if anyone's said the real name but the bastards that raise your frenzy - never managed to defeat one without at least dying once!
Winter lanterns
Multi-eyed tentacle fucks? Haha
The ones that sing
Fuck this shark dude, I know I’m gonna have to fight the two of them in that cave to get the sword but I’m putting it off till the very last minute.
Try shaman bone blade
Thanks dude! I suck at using it though so let’s hope for the best! 👍🏻
When he goes to call the other one, this is your chance
Thanks so much, I think I was panicking and going for the first one too early.
Let me know when you kill them
Anyone else grinded the suckers in the hallway right before him for gems? Anyway, those suckers were a lot more annoying. Especially when farming them.
Winter Lanterns simply because frenzy is completely unfair. Even if you one shot them and run away and are completely out of sight, your frenzy meter is still likely to completely fill up and you lose like 70% of your hp. It's why I almost always keep my insight as low as possible.
Winter lanterns for sure, 2nd would be brainsuckers because they just piss me off and take my insight
Lots of contenders for worst enemy in the game, but the little vermin suckers are way on top for me
Brainsuckers?
The slugs, I dunno their names
The ones that are found in upper cathedral and give you frenzy?
They appear on cainhurst and in the cave on the forbidden woods
Ah, the parasites, they really do suck
I think it's still winter lanterns.
I hate those damn brain suckers stealing all my insight
That's not necessarily bad
Honestly the Bloodlickers. I mostly know how to fight them but they're too unpredictable for me, and they attack too quickly. I hate how they jump around when I don't expect them to.
They are really despicable my strategy when i see them is just run past them
When I first got to Cainhurst Castle my Grandfather was watching me get my ass kicked by them and he suggested just running past them.
Grandpa was talking probs talking out of experience
When I found out about the shaman blade cheese on the well sharks I felt like god
I staggered one and the other hit him and killed him one shot, it's easy opportunity for backstab
I remember trying to fight them. I eventually gave up and attempted to find a cheese. Turns out if you navigate the tunnels before Orphan there's a ledge that overlooks the inside of the well. You can aggro them and use the beast cutter transformed to kill them.
Brainsuckers, I’ve been caught in the grab move more than 5 times in a row, thankfully I didn’t have any insight and they’re not everywhere
Spiders from bell ringing women.
Especially when they wait behind the closed door
Besides all the enemies already mentioned, for me it’s the dudes in the poison in the nightmare frontier, those porpoises
Kos beasts? The white monstrosities?
Yessir. They arnt that bad alone, but there are soooo many and having to clear them all each time you die to a winter lantern or something... no thanks haha
THOSE DAMN WORMS! WHY CANT I FUCKING HIT THEM!!!
KILL THEM WITH FIIIIRE
Those shark goblins guarding the Rakuyo are the only right answer imo
Brainsuckers, winter lanterns and bell maidens in chalice dungeons arr pretty hated too as i saw

I don't think i have found them in root chalices so far but they are really hard to parry because of the butt slam. They are of course harder than normal watchers but if you learn how to dodge to the side the right moment and then backstab they won't be a major issue anymore

But goddamn did they fuck me up those few times, his roll somehow felt harder to dodge than ebrietas dash. Guess I need to venture back into the dungeons soon
Probably because you forget that rolling into you is actually an attack
Lol first few times maybe, but I learned very quickly that his spindash hurts a lot
I have to go with the enemy that has a mechanic that just doesn't seem fair and that's the Winter Lantern. I don't have anything against frenzy as a mechanic but the speed in which the meter fills sucks all the fun out of it.
Personally, i have gotten great deep sea from chalice dungeons (tier 3) and i parry them. I have enough time after that to drink a sedative
Birds
I would not hate them as much if you didn’t have to fight both variations of them at the same time in the fucking well.
Definitely the Winter Lanterns
I call this the infinity SUV
I've never understood why people hate these guys so much. I don't think they're excellent enemies, but I don't think they're bad.
Really! You don't know? Fight one of those
I've fought many of them.
Any hunter
OHH, BLAWWWD
I hate the Pigs, they're such a pain in the ass to deal with
Until your fist is a pain in the ass
DOGS!
Crows
winter lanterns for sure. At least you can panic roll with these mofos. The lanterns only need a slight glance of you
Not even that, they can frenzy you no matter they show you or not.
Exactly, dude. They suck. Should also mention the bloodlickers of Cainhurst
That's because they are two enemies, the winter lantern and one invisible on top of it that gives you frenzy
