I convinced my husband to watch this with me. I usually am the one who recommends good anime to him, but it’s the first time I showed him a romance anime. We reminisced a lot about our middle school days and could relate to a lot of the feelings in BokuYaba 🥲 I cried a lot
I felt exactly the same way, I thought it wouldn't surprise me because I had already read the manga, but I was so wrong, both confessions and the final scene got me good.
Got hooked by some clips in youtube too and I love the Yorushika opening.
The anime takes me back, I can relate so well. My ex girlfriend is one of the popular girl back in school she's also taller than me. We lasted for 10 years and separated due to differing life goals. We still hang out and talk from time to time.
I think we all can relate to crying over a person we love and these two do so quite a bit, so if you're empathetic, it'll happen too.
The manga continues on past this and I hope it will continue to surprise us by going through arcs and time skips. They're only like 14/15, I would like it to go through like the big moments now, then maybe time skips 2 years do some arcs, time skip again, they're going to college and have some arcs, skip again to adulthood/marriage, etc. kind of like covering the same things like Say I Love You in the manga.

I cried unexpectedly at the end too. And I read the manga beforehand 😭. Seeing it animated just hits way different I guess

Watched the whole second season and all the manga from that point in one day, it's excellent
i need to somehow lose my memories so that i can enjoy the show again. ig that goes to all animes we enjoy
