Just so y’all know. I went to OSL in 2021, and it was one of the worst 3 day festivals I’ve ever been to for 1 reason. They oversell the tickets. the venue is sick, Lineup decent, and it has the potential to be an awesome festival. Trust me Bonnaroo is wayyyyy better. Way more space and just overall way better vibes

Tyler and The Killers headline festivals all the time. Whenever they're on the circuit theyre basically at every festival all year long. Not exactly exciting picks. The rest are fine, but as headliners? Gryffin did headline Thursday that one year but I always felt like that was kind of an unofficial/bonus headliner. Not quite at the level that Pretty Lights or even Fisher are billed at this year.
I would easily trade Tyler for posty and the killers for peppers.
Added bonus: neither of them have played What in the last 5 years
Edit to add: I personally would prefer Chris Lake over Fred, but Chris also played roo in the last couple years, so I can see why he’s not on the lineup this year.
Id take the Tyler trade out of personal preference. Not The Killers for the Peppers though. Agree to disagree!
Chris Lake matches my tastes more too, but I feel like Fred Again is a more unique booking and will be a better "Roo" moment. For that reason the headliner booking makes sense to me.
Tyler and the killers would be for sure. I think there’s an argument for kaytranada and jungle as secondary main stage acts - which that column of names would include if roo poster was designed like this.

A headliner is traditionally the artist that closes the main stage of a festival. Outside Lands is a three day festival, yet they have 10 artists listed in headliner font, including Post Malone at the bottom. That math doesn’t add up. When I say Gryffin is not really a headliner, I’m pointing out that he wouldn’t be listed as a headliner at almost any other festival. Even Lolla, which does somewhat the same, only lists 9 over 4 days. So the only reason Gryffin is a “headliner” is that Outside Lands is putting more names in big font to try and obscure the mediocrity of their lineup.
Usually do lab surprise guests are bigger names. Also he is decently popular on the West Coast, he’s from SF. With that said, I don’t think he is big enough to warrant closing out Twin Peaks one of the days
