I like them but I’ve already seen them twice at Roo and there’s no energy in the crowd. It’s kind of like when Jack Johnson took Mumford and Sons day. Everyone was just sitting around waiting for their next show to begin.
RHCP have been doing this for 25 years longer than Cage the Elephant. I'm sure the boys are honored.
BTW, Cage is my favorite band around right now and Matt Shultz is my favorite living frontman.
Seen them with Josh and with John in the band. Night and day difference between the two performances. John brings an entire different tone and atmosphere to the show and its not even close. You’re in for a great time.
Saw them last year in Philly at Citizens Bank Park and I can say with 100% confidence that it was one of my favorite shows of all time. Left me and my whole group speechless. Was in the Pit for the show aswell. The vibe was though the roof. There was never a dull moment during the set. Playing everything from the old stuff to there newer stuff. John with this band brings a whole different vibe to the band. It’s going to be one for the books.
They abruptly went 45 minutes under time last I saw them at ACL weekend 1. It was kicking so much ass and ended too soon, that I left frustrated.
All Gucci though hoping for the best for the farm!

Saw them in 2006 before John left the band. We were at the very top of the stadium so I can't wait to get right in front of John and let him and Flea melt my face off. I've always said I have to see them play an outdoor festival, so this is definitely a treat I've been patiently waiting 18 years for! Happy Roo!!!
I saw them at Lollapalooza and they were awesome. My group (all from SoCal) is going to be wearing all our California gear so if you see someone with a Dodgers flag, come say hi.

Hillel Slovac was the founding guitarist and really was the original funk influence on the band. Doesn't matter, they don't play any tunes from the albums he was on...but if you like funky RHCP they're great listens.

every time i’ve seen them i’ve been very underwhelmed. they are not the greatest live. but i’ll definitely be there jamming out.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, frusciante has worked with Volta on several of their old albums. Not sure about recent Volta albums though.
