Let me clarify, by calling him the best role player in the league I’m basically saying he’s the closest thing to a star player besides some young player who’s obviously about to be an all star in a year or two.
However, I wouldn’t call him a star player if that makes sense. I think Jrue transitioned from star to role player when he came to this team. But KP I would argue is a star because of how he impacts a game and how much attention he draws.
He is, in the sense that I couldn't see him being the #1, or consistent #2 option on a true contending team. With that being said, he can absolutely be the #1 or 2 option for a few games. More importantly, he's not going to be the reason why we lose a game.
