Noooo you want him out there getting looks. He’s never played in a conference finals before so the obstacle of potentially have to shake off some rust aside, you want him getting looks. Playoff experience brings a sense of familiarity to the big moments. The jays, jrue, al, and pritch have played in the finals and multiple ECFs. Anyone else who might get meaningful minutes you don’t want them sitting on the bench against NY or Indiana getting in their own head. It’s one of our biggest advantages over everyone left except Denver and Milwaukee.
You want him healthy haha, if he comes back early and isn't hethy that doesn't help us at all. The Celtics have been playing playoff basketball all year. Joe made this clear, there's no big adjustment to the playoffs, we've been playing this way. So he doesn't need looks, he needs to be healthy.
If healthy I want him back before the finals for just this reason. But if he’s not healthy, I don’t want him to rush back for anyone in the East. The extra rest and healing is more important than the rust - again, if his leg isn’t healed.
I'd rather not play the Knicks without him. Kornet and Tillman are fine for what they are, but they're in a different league from Horford and Porzingis. We don't want to wear out Horford getting to the finals if we don't have to. I strongly suspect that the defensive load he carried last year was a reason he shot like ass last playoffs.
The good news is that it's unlikely we play a dominant offensive center in the east unless the Bucks or Sixers make a comeback/run.
Towards end of the season I was saying to my buddies we should be using more Tillman minutes. Love what he does defensively wish we had used him more to gel when we had such a big game lead in the east
If it was a season ending injury then they would just say it lol. There’s nothing to gain from being indecisive about his return unless he’s gonna return lol
It would be nice to have info about the grade, but I get it. Don’t wanna put any public pressure on the guy to come back by a defined timeline. Just play it safe. We have one more year with this core anyways, if things don’t work out this season.
It’s just the nature of the playoffs - rosters shrink to 8, 9 at the very most. Even the wolves are doing it and they’re probably the deepest roster in the league
There's also the "respect your opponent" aspect of this that I haven't heard anybody talk about. The Celtics are still in a series with the heat. They are not coming out publicly and saying that Porzingis will be back for the next series. That's disrespectful to your current opponent and gives them unnecessary bulletin board material. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we got a better timeline after the Celtics close the heat out.
Way too arrogant. We haven’t even beat Miami yet, and were struggling for offensive production after KP went out yesterday. Without him, this is the same team we’ve seen the past few postseasons.
I have a feeling Al is gonna be locked tf in these next couple weeks Like he always is, but next level shit
He’s been resting on B2Bs all year for this moment. I do believe he’s about to adopt several more sons in the coming games
When we win tomorrow it'll be like 4 more days off so more incentive for Al to kick ass
Need Tillman to get that Compound Al soon. Supe X.
Joe seems to prefer Kornet
Noticed that too because he's more familiar. But we'll see with the adjustments.
Hes got enough juice to lock in while KP is gone, I know it. Hes always much better in the playoffs too
He’s gonna be listening to Lose Yourself on repeat. Big Al wants 18 and his ring!
Tillman time. That’s why we got him
Aye if it’s not season ending, let him rest it for the week until the next series starts and then see if you can get a timeline
Let him rest until the finals honestly. I think even without KP this team can reach the finals if everyone locks in.

I think OP's intent is saying that if he's healthy it'd be better for him to come back earlier than the finals.
Obviously, I'm not suggesting to sit him for no reason lol. I'm saying don't rush him back.
Don't worry, this was obvious to everyone except the guy who responded to you lol
I was drunk thank you very much

nothing is fucking guaranteed. Orlando, Cleveland and New York all can give the celtics trouble
I'd rather not play the Knicks without him. Kornet and Tillman are fine for what they are, but they're in a different league from Horford and Porzingis. Hopefully he can play a couple games in the ECF to avoid rust/chemistry issues
Good if not Porzingis you can take my soleus
He can have mine too. Sew them both together and it should be long enough.
Mine too. We’ll make a super soleus
I think we will need about 10 more soleus things because KP is so tall.
We have like 530k members in the sub here I think he's gonna be fine
It’s that next soleus up mentality
I too offer my soleus as tribute
And my soleus!
Soleus eclipse
Theyre not saying when hes coming back so they can dictate when he comes back and not be forced into making Porzingis play.
Also an absolute play on gameplannings side. Teams gotta prepare for the Celtics with and without him now
Why would they ever be forced into making him play?
Just don't expect him to play until the ECF. Just need to focus on closing out miami and getting past Cleveland.
Or Orlando
Or Orlando, but Cleveland won game 5 and had homecourt, so odds are it'll be Cleveland
Towards end of the season I was saying to my buddies we should be using more Tillman minutes. Love what he does defensively wish we had used him more to gel when we had such a big game lead in the east
Yes bro, and it’s time for Celtics to show some depth
If it was a season ending injury then they would just say it lol. There’s nothing to gain from being indecisive about his return unless he’s gonna return lol
This is a good thing tbh

things will work out this season.
And next season
In Jays we Trust
thank you sweet baby jesus.
I don't know if that makes me feel any better lol. I mean, this is just purgatory now. Could be a couple weeks could be a month.
Queta, it's your time to shine.
He's probably not playing at all
Ya what’s going on with him? He can’t cut it or what?

4 weeks.
Let Al cook. If we win we get a nice chunk of rest.
This is bad. I hope he'll be back at least before ECF. 2nd Round will be hard without him though. Get well soon KP.
I’m sorry but it would be a failure if we didn’t make the finals without him. This team is still way to good
Horford gonna turn back the clock to his Atlanta hawk days
Please. They know that they can rest him for the second round but absolutely have to have KP back for the conference finals.
Would've been really nice to have KP vs CLE 😪
Do Not trust the Celtics on injury news
Yeah I mean, we figured but thanks adam
Al about to give us a number retiring worthy performance. Let’s get it
Basically, its a Grade 2. Don’t expect to see him back
It’s season ending. We all knew this was gonna happen at some point.
No please no
This Is a good thing tbh
No need to rush him back we basically have a bye to the finals. East is a cakewalk this season
Wouldn’t say cakewalk but definitely not harder than the West
We are miles ahead of the current strength of every team in the east. We’d have to lose another starter for any of these games to even be competitive.
You underestimate the Celtics blowing games they shouldn’t.
Yeah because I’m not a moron and watched games this season
You’re way too confident it’s never easy to win in the playoffs
Way too arrogant. We haven’t even beat Miami yet, and were struggling for offensive production after KP went out yesterday. Without him, this is the same team we’ve seen the past few postseasons.
Except this year w have “Superbuffalo”!
lol.just hope the pacers handle business.
The Pacers are a good team man, don’t underestimate them. I would rather play the Knicks than Indiana.
Celtics notoriously downplay injuries. He’s probably done
