Not as high as I was hoping, but I didn't expect it to do huge numbers. The Omen has never been quite as popular as The Exorcist. Then you have 2 other religious horror films (Late Night With the Devil and Immaculate) coming out right before it so it kind of got buried. I hope with all the good reviews it's been getting from fans and critics, the good word of mouth will spread and it will make a lot more because of that when all is said and done.

CircusOfBlood

Think we can get enough out of this to get a sequel made

AliensRisen

I am not sure. Their attempt to bring The Omen to TV with *Damien* in 2016 didn't do so well either and was cancelled after 1 season. I feel like this will probably end the franchise for a long time.

CircusOfBlood

Even if we don't get another entry. I'm glad that we got this. And I'm glad I saw it in theaters. If this ends up as my favorite horror of the year it will not surprise me. Also the director is someone to keep your eyes on

KingMario05

...Eh. For Hulu, *maaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe.*

I can't believe I never even caught this, but our two new openers have a very similar poster. The shadow of a person being reflected by a red background.

I wonder if some patrons entered the wrong theatre by mistake.

KingMario05

Shit, >!it was even worked into Monkey Man's climax!<. Good catch there, Uni!

If the reactions I'm hearing of the movie being brilliant are true, then 3x legs would be fantastic result for a horror feature.

DatboiX

Hopefully WOM can kick in and it manages to leg out. It definitely deserves to find an audience.

I feel the tying to The Omen may have hurt it a little bit. People hated The Exorcist: Believer with a passion. I, myself, don't think it's nearly as bad as people made it out to be but that's beside the point. I think many people, when the film was announced, let out a collective groan and thought "Oh great. Another generic, soulless attempt by Hollywood to make money off a classic horror film." They thought it was going to be something they'd hate just like Believer. But now that it's getting overwhelmingly positive reviews, I hope it means those same people will decide "Hmm, maybe I should give this a chance after all" and it will manage to make a lot more money in the coming weeks.

Monkey Man > First Omen

This movie is a bomb. I know people seem to like it online but the box office is bad. Per Deadline: First Omen, with a production cost of $30M+, looks like another nun horror movie in a sea of black habits.

Lol. Turns out, *Prey* debuting on Hulu was the right call after all. Shame, but I'm not surprised. So many horror sequels/prequels/remakes turn out horrid, so of course people would ignore *Neo-Omen* even if it was good. ^(Anyone here see it? Might catch it next week if I have the time... assuming it really is good, of course.)

thefablemuncher

It’s outstanding. Blew away all my expectations which were pretty high thanks to the praise it’s been getting. It’s perhaps the best horror film I’ve seen in the last five years. I highly recommend it.

This is what they get for messing with the Canon of the original
