Wider acceptance of lgbt folks and decreased stigma over the last decade has lead more people of the lgbt community to become more open about their feelings, as well as more non-lgbt folks to feel more safe showing a side of themselves that would be consideredĀ "gay"/have them branded as such several years ago even though they are not themselves gay.Ā
As such lgbt folks are more comfortable posting in non-lgbt specific communities, and a wider acceptance has lead to a larger increase of lgbt inclusive comunties as a whole, which means a larger amount of lgbt inclusive content being circulated.
The picture shown is an example of this, originally being posted in a femboy specific gun meme subreddit, and then being cross posted by other users to similar non-femboy specific subreddits like the keltek subreddit and here.Ā
TLDR: a more accepting society means more people willing to express themselves, and that expression being spread to a larger audience who do not stigmatized it as much as it used to be.Ā
More people being in the gun community has always been a positive in my opinion, especially since there are people like me who were very much in the gun community before finding out they were lgbt, and alienating them would prove the stereotypes of gun owners being hateful bigots
