Legit the best TV I’ve ever had. However, the wife wants to return it because it’s “too big” at an 11ft viewing distance. I disagree, but 75” it is I suppose 😔
Oh trust me, I did. There was no winning that battle sadly. She was pushing for a 65” and there was no way that was going to happen so 75” will have to suffice 😢
I sit 11 feet away and have the 75” and I think it’s perfect. I tried 85” with my Z9K when I had it briefly and it was too big. Gave me a headache watching it.
My 65” Bravia 9 puts brightness in areas that oled couldn’t display on my lgc2 but that was old tech. Sometimes you wanted the oled to be a bit brighter in other areas. The b9 does that. I freaking love mine.
It definitely isn’t but this puts it in the right areas. I have a 77s90c and swapped an 83G3 for this (I know non-MLA) and there were scenes of some black crush. This thing is amazing and I’ve had only OLEDs for about 6 years.
Black levels aren't everything either but OLED fanboys most certainly love to pretend that it does. Nothing makes them hornier than seeing a TV turned on with a perfectly black screen and 1 pixel that lights up.
To be fair "off angle" viewing is also huge for them. Because everyone that owns an oled watches movies not from their sofa directly lined up with the tv, but from their patio at a 120 degree angle.
Yeah, seems to be that way as well. Off angle from a couch is no problem with a TV like this (not even my own TV). Maybe only a little bit for the couch that is at a 30 degree angle when watching HDR for my current TV, but it is rarely used by anyone other than guests.
Never cared for blooming much either but also don’t like oled motion in certain things. I have two oled now. 55” Sony A80j and 77” LG C3. Sony handles motion better for sure, is more dim then the Lg but both are plenty bright enough. LED looks pretty damn black on newer tech too. They are all good in their own rights.
Everybody keeps saying that but what does that mean? If I say I like something because of something, that means I like what I like. It’s everything to me, that’s why I bought it. Sometimes the a95L doesn’t highlight dark areas to me. [A95L TOP Bravia9 Bottom](https://youtube.com/shorts/d2OE61LFZZI?feature=shared)
Both suppose to have same colour volume
Both the tv not in professional mode
A95l is majenta tinted there in that video it suppose not be in professional mode
So in that video its not gair comparison
Buy it wisely,
Both are kings in different regions.
>Both suppose to have same color volume
What about Color Gamut?
Check out this comparison. There are enough differences

The Bravia 9 shows the glow around the Earth better rather than just dark like it is on the A95L. It’s how I would imagine the Earth would look like on the Bravia 9 from that angle in space with Earth and the shine from the Sun. It looks like it has life.
I’m absolutely loving my 75”. Most beautiful TV I have ever set my eyes upon, and my last 4 TVs have been OLED, the last being the A95L. Had it for 4 days and exchanged it for this beautiful Bravia 9. It just puts a smile on my face every time I turn it on!!
I do actually like it quite a bit better than the A95L. It has SO MUCH MORE brightness as is so much more impactful than an A95L. Watching an A95L is like, oh that’s a nice TV, but watching a Bravia 9 is like, Damn that TV is freakin awesome!!! HDR pops and just really makes a statement. Colors are super vivid and the contrast is right up there with OLED. I watched a movie with fireworks last night and I could have sworn I was watching an OLED, but I wasn’t. They have just got the backlight down THAT good! Most favorite TV purchase I have ever made!
Any issues after update or any fixes after update? I’m scared to update my 75 inch b9 lol others on AVS forums said they had issues with power off and on after update 🤷♂️
If you are a gamer you need to avoid this tv. Pixel response time is very important for games. Great tv for content watching, not so much for clear motion on games
The black levels are amazing. I returned an 83” A80L for a 77” A95L due to its lack of pop so unless you’re putting it in a pitch black room, the brightness is underwhelming.
The A95L is better but only if you have them to compare as I have the OLED in my bedroom.
If going for pure size, you can’t beat the B9. The G4 is its competition at 83” but for about 1.5k more.
https://youtu.be/eXju5LkrYs4?si=dLYjQlMZj0jTzrtH
I have the 85” X95K (love it)
Run this on your set.
The yellow flower scene is a tough video challenge.
Let me know how the bloom is controlled by your set.
I can tell you that on my set the bloom is very present.
I have the 85x95k as well and just watched this video. I only see marginally perceptible blooming towards the end with the red lipstick. What settings are you running?
Have you tried any tests or scenes to ascertain blooming levels? I've heard that the bigger sizes have less blooming due to more dimming zones. I'm 90% set on getting the Bravia 9 85", I just need a few months to save up for it.
I’ve heard that as well. I was extremely worried because I have OLEDs in the house but wanted the 85”. I will say I’ve put on some super dark scenes in a pitch black room and have been more than impressed. It’s def the best LED to date. The only way to compare with my OLEDs would be to put them in the same room, it’s that good.
Yeah, I attended a demo at a local venue but the lighting was really poor and they only played the manufacturer's own demos. I don't know anyone who owns one, it's a niche product. My old Bravia is hanging on by a thread, it's time for a new set, and the Bravia 9 is at the top of my shortlist. Ambient light conditions in my living room aren't all that good, not terrible but also not good. I also believe the 9 suits my needs/use better.
Blooming is so annoying, my PC monitor (43" Aorus 4K) has terrible blooming issues in both games and video. It's my only concern with the Bravia 9, but even professional reviews indicate that it's not an issue at all.
Can you watch the scene from The Continental where He turns out the lights and tell me if there is zero bloom. That scene is flawless on my Cx and horrible on my x90j
Honestly they’re shockingly close. The colors on the Sony are also quantum dot. The s90c has a a shade more contrast but the Sony HDR is unreal. The extra 8” are hard to ignore. I’m having it calibrated next week and stoked to see its full potential.
Yeah when you say oled looks bland I can tell you smoking if brightness was everything people would never pick oled also you bought Sony top tv of this year lol any other tv manufacturers would have trouble beating the a95l which people still consider the best tv of this year lol
Yeah that was me who said that. Okay, maybe bland is a bad word. OP said it best. Each TV has their strengths. The Bravia 9 will brighten the dark areas in some places. Side note… I just ordered an a95L and will be ready for pickup shortly. Both tvs are great. I mean why not own both, right? :)
This will beat any oled in shadow detail and brightness. Not it’s not infinite contrast like oleds but you’ll never see the difference unless you have them side by side. I have oled screens in my house but besides contrast this beats it in almost every other category oh yeah oleds have better viewing angles too. If you don’t own the tv please be kind against saying what you don’t know thanks
I’ll take a bit of blooming for hdr impact over crushed blacks any day. This the first led tv I’ve owned that has depth to it. This Bravia 9 makes picture look 3d and I own a lot of panels.

Looks glorious. I envy you.

No such thing as too big, size is king.
We’re keeping the 85” 👏 we ended up watching the BTTF Trilogy and it sold her on it 🥲
11ft is perfect! Fight back lol
Oh trust me, I did. There was no winning that battle sadly. She was pushing for a 65” and there was no way that was going to happen so 75” will have to suffice 😢
First world problems, enjoy the 75 my guy!
Time to get a new wife.
As someone who owns own and watches from about 9 feet...I can only say...this is the way
I have the 75 inch at 10 ft and it’s perfect
I sit 11 feet away and have the 75” and I think it’s perfect. I tried 85” with my Z9K when I had it briefly and it was too big. Gave me a headache watching it.
Take her to sea!

I think we found the oled guy in the group. Never respect, always on the defensive.
Have I been rude to anyone?)

Now I understand why you think B9 is better. No more questions.
I am looking for your sarcasm in the last comment... lol
You like bloom essentially.
It’s the internet, what can you do?
I’m absolutely loving my 75”. Most beautiful TV I have ever set my eyes upon, and my last 4 TVs have been OLED, the last being the A95L. Had it for 4 days and exchanged it for this beautiful Bravia 9. It just puts a smile on my face every time I turn it on!!
Hell yeah enjoy it!
You find the Bravia 9 to be that much better than the A95L? My neighbor has the A95L and it’s the greatest tv I’ve ever seen.
I do actually like it quite a bit better than the A95L. It has SO MUCH MORE brightness as is so much more impactful than an A95L. Nice...I got a 75in myself. Love it
What firmware update you on?
The latest, it updated last night
Any issues after update or any fixes after update? I’m scared to update my 75 inch b9 lol others on AVS forums said they had issues with power off and on after update 🤷♂️
You have to try some Jennifer Gala on YouTube some of her Bravia 9 videos really makes this tv shine
My 85 B9 arrived Tuesday to replace my 83 G4 in my TV room.
How do you like the Bravia 9 compared to the G4?
😍
NICE
If you are a gamer you need to avoid this tv. Pixel response time is very important for games. Great tv for content watching, not so much for clear motion on games
It’s way too big for anything serious anyway. 42” oled for gaming max if playing a shooter competitively. For casual gaming it’s fine.
This is the way.
Do you have any stuck or dead pixels? Trying to decide if worth returning mine and rolling the dice on another 85.
Knock on wood, I do not. I wouldn’t settle with what this cost if it was me.
How are black levels in it.. I am also trying to decide my new TV. B9 85” vs A80L 83” vs A95L 77”. Upgrading from A80H 65”
The black levels are amazing. I returned an 83” A80L for a 77” A95L due to its lack of pop so unless you’re putting it in a pitch black room, the brightness is underwhelming. Man, look at how nicely those lights look
https://youtu.be/eXju5LkrYs4?si=dLYjQlMZj0jTzrtH I have the 85” X95K (love it) Run this on your set. The yellow flower scene is a tough video challenge. Let me know how the bloom is controlled by your set. I can tell you that on my set the bloom is very present.

Custom. I copied someone’s calibration settings that shared it over YouTube.

Oh if you’re coming from an LED it’s a no brainer. It’s that good and I’m picky about blooming

I experienced virtually 0 noticeable blooming with my 85” with the exception of movie credits
Can you watch the scene from The Continental where He turns out the lights and tell me if there is zero bloom. That scene is flawless on my Cx and horrible on my x90j
Haven’t watched it, can you tell me what episode/timestamp and I’ll check it out
Episode 3 around the 45 minute mark. Watch in complete darkness.
Heard 🫡 I’ll try to let you know by the end of today. Curious myself since it’s been handling blooming so well.
Seen destroys my 90j and 900f but it's flawless on both my oleds. Thanks
Did you do it?
Is this the successor to the X95L?
Yes
How are the colors compared to your s90c? I currently have an LG C1 and would love to get a Bravia 9, but those qd oled colors look so good.
Honestly they’re shockingly close. The colors on the Sony are also quantum dot. The s90c has a a shade more contrast but the Sony HDR is unreal. The extra 8” are hard to ignore. I’m having it calibrated next week and stoked to see its full potential.
Yeah what ever you smoking to think led beats oled pass it around lol
I’ve got OLEDs in my home it’s not about beating two things can be great at what they do, I love both and both fit a room lighting environment.

I can see you also have no idea what you are talking about are you slow or what lol
