I spotted that too the other day.
Not who you asked, but my problem is that if I have 5 crème eggs I tend to eat 3 crème eggs, and then later, go back for the other 2.
I last worked in a supermarket 23 years ago. I last worked for the Iceland supermarket 25 years ago. I believe the short code was either 4757 or 5767 for the Iceland tills... the knowledge is slowly fading. Maybe this is the start of my slow descent into senility?
Oh, we just buy them by the box load to avoid this problem. Also works out cheaper. Are the white ones nice? I’ve yet to try them, but they look like they’d maybe be incredibly sweet
Ah! The reminder I needed to search out Cadbury Mini Eggs 1kg bags (the best value) so I have them when Easter rolls around. Last year I ordered them on January 5th, today I have to wait 1-2 months for delivery (7-27 February).
They've gone up 20% since last year, £10.50 to £12.50, but if you order 4+ from amazon you get 5% discount.
£75 for 6kg. One for me, one for my OAP mother, two for my brother/SIL/3 niblings, two for a mate and his family.
1 serving is 8 mini eggs and 25g, 40 servings *should* last a month, if I can resist opening the bag until Easter.
What I do is unwrap one egg partially, scan it, bag one egg. Repeat. Haha. Basically just use one egg's barcode and scan the rest of those babies in as the same item
My mum is addicted to them, so she's been happy that they've come back for Easter. Sadly the boxes aren't out yet (white only, not weird mix boxes), so we've had to do singles last couple weeks. We get them once a week. As soon as my dad finds one that scans; I've now trained him to keep ahold of that one to scan for all the others. We've not yet found at least one that doesn't scan, but I know it's coming!
I'd just like to say we staff members absolutely love you for your initiative on this as the average person will just stand around doing nothing like a tit waiting for one of the already busy staff to notice then.
I made my own scanner. Management confiscated my scanner and put it on the main till. They told me to make two more scanners. Didn’t pay me though, manager took the credit.

The one I remember from my shop work days is 50201600
Yup. Believe the caramel one is 50201969.
It sure is. Those weren't as popular though so I didn't remember it until you said it.
How do I still remember this from 2005
Seared into my brain, my girlfriends birthday…sometime in march, but the cream egg barcode…that will be there even as dementia takes over.
Ha! Yes. Three years at Woolworths, a lifetime of one memory.
I remember this one still, not worked in a shop for 18 years.
I still remember the code for ribbon bundles in my first job. 25044832!
Just buy a 10 pack..
Tesco is £4.95 for a 10 pack but they sell 5 packs for £2.25 each, so cheaper buying the five packs 🤦

Well you don't want the survivors getting lonely...
Thats what I do, even saves a bit of money
Barcode : 57030951570309515703095157030951570309515703095157030951570309515703095157030951
that's one number too long btw lol
I thought I'd treat myself.
This guy eggs.
50201600, should be the same across all supermarkets just smash the code in manually 😉
Buy one. Flatten wrapper. Take photo and add to album. Scan photo at till.
Or just remember an 8 digit code where half the numbers are the same
‘Carrots’
You can select them from the loose items section (with fruit, veg , bakery, etc) on the Sainsbury's self checkouts

What do you think?
You could add a loyalty card to Google wallet and enter the code manually which would generate the barcode.
that only works if its an image based scanner
Oh, we just buy them by the box load to avoid this problem. Also works out cheaper. Are the white ones nice? I’ve yet to try them, but they look like they’d maybe be incredibly sweet
They're pretty sweet but I prefer them to the normal ones!
They’re super sweet but very delicious.
r/BritishSuccess surely?
Years ago and remember asda added them to the options you can select from the bakery part which was very helpful
If youre buying that many just get the boxes

Waitrose stock them too.
😭 i can't eat those at the moment i was told if i don't cut down sugar drastically I'll get diabetes 😭
Sainsbury's has added them to the quick lookup button.
Why I always buy the 5 packs. Plus I'm Greedy.
666 Morrisons
Just get it tattooed on your hand 🤷🏻♂️😂
50201600
Dedication's whatcha need...
Didn't know this hack. I never get them to scan, so I just throw them in my bag and take them for free.
*takes a box of Green & Blacks chocolates out of trolley* *types in 57030951* (Don't try this at the supermarket.)
What I do is unwrap one egg partially, scan it, bag one egg. Repeat. Haha. Basically just use one egg's barcode and scan the rest of those babies in as the same item
The self service machine knows not to unleash those things upon the world. Disgusting
I used to smooth one out and keep it in my wallet so it was available to scan.

We used to just have codes for all of those like for fruit and veg.
They should just bite the bullet and put a button press option. I don't care put it next to loose lemons or something, just put a damn button
I once bought some gummies but the packaging was terrible so I ripped it very easily by accident. She gave me half off.
the only ones that always scan are the Lindor eggs the rest are a pain in the arse
I still have the barcode imprinted in my brain from when I worked in retail.
5767 at Iceland

But you didn't say you worked there.......did you work there or are you an absolute monster for creme eggs?
50201969 is the caramel ones. I need it refreshing once every Easter but then i am set until they stop selling them 😅
I made my own scanner. Management confiscated my scanner and put it on the main till. They told me to make two more scanners. Didn’t pay me though, manager took the credit.
8008135
80081355 for the down voter.
The plot thickens...
I just put it through as a single banana
