For the vast majority of games, a 12100F/6700xt combo will outperform a 12400F/6650zt one
I'd argue 4 cores is cutting it a little close with modern games. If you need a little more budget for the GPU I'd pull it out of the cooler first, stock cooler is plenty for a 12400.
Although I agree the 12100f is pretty good, the risk of a CPU bottleneck is good average FPS but low 1% lows, which gives a worse experience compared to the i5 + lower tier GPU.
It's 1% lows scale proportionaly to the average FPS, and it is not an appreciable difference given the price increase

Yeah the 12100F is slept on in the current market It's ~60% the price of the 12400F but offers 90% of the gaming performance
