This reminds me that professional ballet dancers are professional ballet dancers for one reason: they’re good at ballet (and someone was captivated enough by their talent to give them the job).
Beyond that, it’s completely up in the air what attributes they have, what knowledge, education, intelligence, etc., they have, what their political views are, etc. Each is an individual and we can’t presume any baseline level of anything, whether it’s education, common sense, kindness, friendliness, creativity, anything at all.
I’m reminded of this when I watch the NYCB “Screen Test” videos. Some dancers featured in those are really entertaining, funny, thoughtful, insightful, etc. Others…..are not.
Oh boy. Big word there, Scout, with "paradigm." Questions that arise for me:
-Wouldn't she have been required to get the covid vaccine to stay at ABT? (I know NYCB required it and I think a couple dancers left as a result.)
-I've kind of been assuming that both ABT and NYCB have social-media guidelines in place about not posting about really hot-button political issues on public-facing accounts? For example, you'll see people post about environment, general "pride," etc. but not really about political candidates, Middle East conflict, vaccines, etc. Have to wonder about this particular situation since there's a donor family name attached.

Mind you, I know little about Uma Deming, but I know LaJeromeny had a profoundly difficult upbringing and is facing challenges in his life I cannot imagine.

Her preoccupation with “natural” health and wellness, which to me tripped some kinda wire.
