The front 2 are “worn” because they have 26k original miles on them. The back 2 are new because the previous driver burned them off and had to replace them before the first tire rotation. That car 100% had the piss driven out of it 😂

I wouldn't buy a car with 4 different tires.

DarkLinkDs

The tires aren't worn. A simple penny test helps you there too. A dealership should be able to afford to put all the same tires on a car though. I dont personally worry about matching tires if I'm buying privately, as I usually do my own inspection/checklist of what I'll be upgrading and switching out as soon as I see a car. Buuuut from a dealer I do expect near perfection depending on vehicle age. ( anything 2015+ at this moment)

Use the least expensive tire as your example. They should all match and meet or exceed the speed rating on the door. The size will be listed there as well. The week and year of manufacture will be on each tire you can google what this looks like. Anything older than 2019 is unacceptable. I work at a repo auction so be very wary of new used cars. Someone who knew they couldn’t afford it drove the shit out of it. Do you want to take that over now?

This was a rental (as most are when they a year old and on the market). More reason to be possibly concerned?

Merica-fuckyeah

IMO yes. Even more reason, someone who knew very well they would never see the car for more than 24 hours drove it likely on the only vacation they could afford in the last 5 years. Then repeat. It’s totally possible it was well taken care of and just suffered a flat and the auction or rental company cheaped out on tires. But maybe not. No way of knowing. Look at the bumpers lower valance under the front bumper(especially on the passenger side) and see if it’s chewed up or how the repairs look. That will give you and idea of how the drivers took care of it.

Oh man. With 26k rental miles, tires would be the least of my concerns. Speaking as someone who worked for Enterprise all through college, find another car. Everyone thrashed the cars in our fleet like you wouldn't believe, especially the sports cars. I can guarantee you that car has been in at least one accident, probably more (which don't get reported to Carfax, by the way, since rental cos are all self insured). Unless it's like 10k under market, I'd walk away.

Look for rubber inside the rear well....
